Something weird is going on with vaunted Vogue photographer Annie Leibovitz who seems to have lost, or else never had, any ability to properly photograph black people.
Here's the harrumphing from the Daily Beast:
On Tuesday, famed photographer Annie Leibovitz sneak-peeked photos from what Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour called a “historic portrait” for the mag’s famed September issue, released just before the Supreme Court’s new term begins in October. Jackson made history in April when she was confirmed as the first Black woman on the nation’s highest court.

Okay. One incompetent on each side of the camera. Very balanced.

Whine, whine, whine. EVERYTHING that blacks touch is done wrong, racist, hateful and intentionally done to harm them, according to their whiney, self-absorbed BS.
Looks fine to me. The woman is as ugly as a warthog and this lighting helps NOT highlight her ugliness. I suspect that the photog was trying to help her out a bit.
I've been a fairly serious amateur photographer for about 50 year, and some people need some serious help to create a decent looking image. That wart hog woman looks better with that sort of lighting. I've seen "well lit" new shots, and she could crack a mirror.

Perhaps they should go with black and white (no puns intended). Yousuf Karsh took probably the finest and most iconic photographs of famous people ever, all in black and white, including Martin Luther King and Marion Anderson.

The September issue is THE big issue of the year. Fall fashion and all that. It's about half of what it used to be. I get the magazine for free. It's such a fabulous magazine that it's given away to keep up the subscription numbers to justify the advertising rates that they charge. Anyway, I got it yesterday, Leafed through, saw the photos of Brown and threw it in the garbage. Nothing wrong with the pictures unless you're a professional whiner and you need to pick, pick, pick.

I do not mean to imply that I threw it in the garbage due to Brown's pictures. I threw it away because it's not worth saving or passing on.

History should record that she was placed on SCOTUS, by a faux President and merely for the reason that she was black and female. That she did not have ability or record to be placed on the court.

I looked at the two photos and from what I could tell, the biggest problem was Annie had her wearing a brown coat. She didn't look muddled at all. She is not a light skinned black woman, not a bit. The coats were a bigger problem. Annie should have put something a little more summery for outerwear.

Is there anything that doesn’t enrage the left?

Well, I'm something less than enraged, but still why waste film on Affirmative Action Jackson? She's black. She's female. That's all she's got.

Leibovitz is weird.
Besides shouldn't a black person only be photographed by another black person? I mean it only seems like the woke thing to follow. s/o

And if she'd used a filter to lighten things, they would have screamed racism because she was trying to make her look more white. Just ignore people like this.

Why all the hub bub? These Annie Leibovitz photos are just like every other one. They are in Vogue so if Anna Wintour says they're good, they're good. Unless you not a Vogue funky and believe rhat Wintour is a God. Leibovitz is over rated .

Jackson should resign from the Supreme Court in protest.
