Report: Ford to Cut About 3K Jobs amid
Transition to Electric Vehicles

Original Article

Ford Motor Company will lay off approximately 3,000 workers to cut costs while transitioning to electric vehicles, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday. The company’s internal email to employees said it would begin notifying the affected salaried and agency workers in the next few days, according to the newspaper which reviewed the email. “The workforce reduction mostly targets employees in the U.S., Canada and India. About 2,000 of the targeted cuts will be salaried jobs at the Dearborn, Mich., auto maker.(Snip)“The 2023 F-150 Lightning will now range from $47,000 to $97,000, up from approximately $40,000 to $92,000 for the 2022 model.

Comments:

They're going to cut a lot more jobs than that when no one wants or can afford to buy these overpriced toys. Maybe they know the fix is in and the all-powerful fedgov will force the issue through a ploy such as banning gasoline, or levying heavy tax fines on bad people with normal cars and fat subsidies for the compliant.

Once they force only electric, driverless cars on us, it will be easy for our masters to keep us close to home and more controllable. The self-driving cars will be programmed to be unable to enter elite neighborhoods, and other "restricted" areas without special permission. Cross-country road trips will be impractical, if not impossible, for most of us, requiring lots of time, money, and patience and special access passes from government bureaucrats.

Ok, so where is the massive surge in upgrading the electrical grid to support the increased demand on it by EV’s? Texas is not even connected to the national grid. Not a EV friendly state it seems. No doubt that electrical rates will spike higher as a result of the huge investment in electrical infrastructure needed, eliminating any financial advantage of buying a EV.

That means at least 3,000 new child labor jobs in lithium mines in China, Zimbabwe, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, and Chile. After all, those rechargeable batteries need a lot of lithium and cheap labor to get it out of the ground and processed into a nice new rechargeable expensive battery for those nifty new expensive electric vehicles, which will need the coal-fired electrical generators to keep them charged.

I think Ford, along with a number of other auto companies, are going to find this obsession with replacing their product line with electric vehicles is going to be a disappointing venture. Hopefully their Japanese competitors will continue to offer alternatives to replace the products that Ford is dropping to convert to EV. One of those happens to be the very nice Ford Edge. Ford, along with most other domestic auto companies have already dropped their four door sedan models. Of the domestic auto lines only Cadillac still offers a few gasoline powered sedans.

Years ago, Ford was viewed as a hero company because they didn't accept money from the feds like Chrysler had done. Now, Ford has signed onto the BS electric crap that the communists are pushing. What blue collar worker that needs a pickup for work is going to buy an electric pickup, and what blue collar worker could afford one? These things are perfect for the white-collar guy who works in an office and wants a pickup so he can look manly on weekends hauling mulch. However, from my observations, most of these people driving pickups are hauling nothing but air and are buying these pickups and driving them like they're sport cars. Besides, with most of these pickups costing 50 to 60 grand, who wants to mess up a vehicle costing that much hauling dirt or something that will scratch the bed of the truck. Look at the newest Chevy commercial for their pickup. The owner locks the doors when his friends who are covered with mud want to get into his nice new clean truck. His friend says nice truck as he gets into the vehicle with his muddy shoes and gear. The owner says, "It was".

Try driving your electric vehicle in a flooded street. And do most people know that those fancy batteries have limits on charging based on the outside temperature? They don't work so great in States where freezes are common, so don't expect to like your EV in places like Michigan, where they're built!

Remember when Ford tells you that their electrically powered motor vehicles will be built in North America that there are actually three countries that make up North America, Canada, Mexico, and the USA. Ford currently manufactures motor vehicles in all three of those countries. Since the costs of electric motor vehicles are sky high well over the price point where more than a small percentage of people residing in North America today can afford to purchase them, you have to know that Ford will be cutting their labor and manufacturing costs to the bone which means that most Ford electric motor vehicles will be built in Mexico where labor costs are at the bottom of the pay scale that Ford pays its workers and that manufacturing costs are also much lower than Canada or the USA. Common sense will tell you that Ford to have any chance will move its electric motor vehicle manufacturing plants to Mexico. One problem with that is that the Mexican workforce is known to be hard working but is not known for precision workmanship. I was reading that Ford has not been telling customers exactly in what countries their motor vehicles are made with the manufacturers plate inside the driver’s door claiming that the vehicle was made in North America by Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, MI. I always thought that where the vehicle was made had to be on the sticker?

The deal that took place between Manchin and Schumer, as well as Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, assured Manchin that there would be a separate method approved that would involve permits for energy infrastructure, including gas pipelines.

In a major upset victory for President Joe Biden's party, New York Democratic official Pat Ryan narrowly beat Republican Marc Molinaro in a race that remained in a dead heat nearly until midnight on Wednesday. Multiple outlets including the New York Times and NBC News called the race for Ryan with more than 95 percent of the votes counted - and less than 3,000 votes between the two candidates. Ryan will now serve the remainder of former Democrat Rep. Antonio Delgado's term, until the end of the year.

Gov. Kathy Hochul has a whopping 24-point lead over Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin with 11 weeks to go before Election Day, according to a new poll released Tuesday. The incumbent Democrat had 55% support among likely voters in the poll conducted between Aug. 17 and Aug. 22 by SurveyUSA on behalf of WNYT-TV in Albany. Another 31% backed Zeldin and 14% said they were undecided. There was some good news for Zeldin in the survey, with 33% of voters saying battling inflation was the most important issue when it comes to deciding their vote for governor. As my colleague Brandon Morse reported, President Joe Biden is about to blatantly break the law to “cancel” thousands of dollars of student loan debt accrued by some of the most privileged members of society. Of course, nothing will actually be canceled. Instead, because the government will simply be out that money, the burden of those debts will be transferred from those who accrued them to hundreds of millions of taxpayers who didn’t. The White House will announce on Wednesday the cancellation of up to $10,000 in student loan debt for for borrowers who make less than $125,000, a source

When I was an undergraduate in the late 1960s, I underwent a kind of transformative experience during a classroom debate with another student that I believed I was clearly winning when the philosophy professor corrected me. He reminded me that when engaged in a philosophical debate, as opposed to the 9th grade Debating Challenge, the point is not simply to vanquish one’s opponent but to find the truth. In order to do the former one may use any means fair or foul to destroy the opponent. For the latter one must do the exact opposite and represent one’s opponent’s position in the strongest terms possible.

No doubt still sulking over the Roe v. Wade reversal — the opening sentence of their recent op-ed published in The New York Times is, “When liberals lose at the Supreme Court — as they increasingly have over the past half-century” — two Ivy League professors laid out their claims for an America without Constitutional limitations. They suggest, “the way to seek real freedom will be to use procedures consistent with popular rule.” Of course, the piece is polished sewage: tyranny of the majority is a very real, and very dangerous threat to the individual, (perhaps they should go read Federalist 10, but they likely wouldn’t understand that either).

Outgoing National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci said Tuesday on FNC’s “Your World” that he was not responsible for the COVID shutdowns. Host Neil Cavuto said, “You had said a number of times, doctor, on this show as well, that your response to COVID might not have been perfect, but it was in the times and the fast moments in which you lived and were making those decisions. So, looking back at some of those decisions, including masks – you were first opposed to them and then embraced them – the severity of the epidemic itself and completely shutting down virtually an entire

Bleary-eyed and wobbly, this is Paul Pelosi photographed in the immediate aftermath of his drunken car crash in May. Further photos, obtained by DailyMail.com, show close-up photos of his hands which were left battered and bruised by the crash. On Tuesday, Pelosi, 82, pleaded guilty to one count of DUI causing injury and another of driving with .08% blood alcohol level or higher causing injury, and was sentenced to three years on probation, a three-month drink driving course, eight hours of a court-ordered work program and pay nearly $1,900 in fines and $5,000 restitution..
