Elon Musk’s dad says he’s not proud

Elon Musk’s dad held nothing back when asked by Australian radio talk show hosts to weigh in on his Tesla founder son’s life and career, revealing he was not proud of the billionaire businessman and favored his brother Kimbal. Errol Musk, 76, on Monday called into Kyle and Jackie O’s show on the Australian radio station KIIS FM for a brutally honest 20-minute interview, in which he downplayed Elon’s success and took a swipe at his physical appearance — claiming that he even suggested the 50-year-old take diet pills after seeing his shirtless photos on a boat in Greece.

Comments:

Sounds like Elon's dad is a jerk. I'm just proud to have Elon be an American citizen. God bless Elon Musk.

Dad is a pedophile so the brother must be one too. Or they all are. The family history of this bunch is totally bizarre.

Wonder if dad knows that nobody would care about his opinion on any subject if not for that son he's "not proud of".

Calling someone a pedophile is pretty strong stuff. Does #1 have a link to support that? If all he did was marry a (totally unrelated) adult stepdaughter, that is not pedophilia. As for dad, who is as homely as a mud fence, here may be the real gripe. Sounds as though he expects some support from Elon: Errol Musk said that despite his son being the world’s richest man, Elon does not give him handouts freely. “We are a very frugal, stingy family,” the wealthy South African engineer stressed. “If I want to spend anything, I have to answer 100 questions of why.”

Correction to my #8. Errol did not marry his 30-something stepdaughter. Just a “relationship” that resulted in two children. Bizarre? Rather. Pedophilia? Nope. It doesn’t sound as though he had to coerce her...

Elon doesn't favor his dad either and gets along fine with his brother, who is also a successful person. Seems like the odd-man out is the dad, who's only "achievement" is impregnating willing females of all ages.

Sleeping with your adult step child is not pedophilia but it is stomach turning. The idea of sleeping with my step daughter is nauseating. Vile concept.

Well, unless Elon thinks blood is thicker than water, he has at least a couple family members he doesn't need to spend too much money or time on. I suspect it may be more of a problem for those family members than it will be for Elon.

If politics and society mirror the natural world, then we might conclude that for every phenomenon there is a counter-phenomenon there to balance things out. In the context of our weekly tribute to stupidity, therefore, we would declare that for every knucklehead, there is an anti-knucklehead. That theory might not hold true in every instance, but it certainly holds true in this situation. Andrew Warren, an elected prosecutor in Hillsborough County Florida, inexplicably determined that he wasn’t merely elected to enforce the laws, he was there to write and adjudicate them as well. And then Warren ran into anti-knucklehead extraordinaire: Governor Ron DeSantis.

In February, American basketball star Brittney Griner was arrested at a Moscow airport after attempting to bring cannabis oil into the country, which is illegal according to Russian law. In the almost six months since being apprehended, Griner has lingered in a less-than-comfortable prison cell. On Thursday, the legal proceedings of the case came to a close when a Russian court delivered a guilty verdict, followed by a harsh sentence of nine years behind bars. None of Thursday’s developments should have come as a surprise to anyone. As we’ve noted before, 99% of all Russian prosecutions end with a guilty verdict, and with a maximum available sentence of ten years,

There’s an approach by Democrats to problem-solving that is becoming increasingly common, and it’s a tactic that focuses on our language. Rather than fixing problems, they instead attempt to either eliminate words from our daily lexicon or simply change the definition of the word. In March in the deep blue state of New Jersey, for instance, we saw the practice in action when state lawmakers eliminated the word “inmate” from their criminal code in favor of “incarcerated person.” We saw another example of it this week when the Biden Administration insisted on trying to redefine the term “recession.”

There is perhaps no better example of gaslighting by today’s Democratic Party than when it comes to the issue of “Defund the Police.” In the aftermath of the death of George Floyd in the spring of 2020, the mantra was all the rage in leftwing, Democratic circles. Their media, their spokespeople, their elected officials – all of them – were singing the same song: Police are evil, the system is racist, and we need to put our tax dollars to use doing something else. In the world of politics and the justice system, we seldom find ourselves with absolutes. Even the best politicians and lawyers have their flaws, and even the most disgraceful officials occasionally reveal some redeeming quality. As great as Ronald Reagan was, he apparently lacked when it came to parenting skills, if we are to believe certain members of his family. And as reprehensible as the far-left Bernie Sanders may be, at least he’s philosophically consistent, going after fellow Democrats when he deems necessary and admitting that his far-fetched socialist plans would indeed increase taxes on the middle class. When WNBA star Brittney Griner was convicted on drug charges Thursday, she was not merely sentenced to nine years in a normal jail or prison. She was given time in a Russian penal colony, which is quite different than a normal correctional facility. Russia's penal colonies are descendants of the notorious Soviet-era gulags where prisoners have been subjected to harsh treatment and poor conditions. Prisoners in the system have been beaten by other inmates, endured torture and forced to watch Russian propaganda for hours every day in what's known as "awareness raising." Following several days of Griner's trial, which stemmed
