The man who allegedly tried to stab Republican candidate for New York governor Lee Zeldin with a bladed weapon during a campaign stop on Thursday was released from jail within hours of his arrest on a felony charge — just as Zeldin had predicted. David Jakubonis, 43, from Fairport, New York, was arraigned overnight in Perinton Town Court on a count of second-degree attempted assault stemming from the attack on Rep. Zeldin but was quickly released on his own recognizance.

Comments:

Something tells me that if AOC, Hochul, or Cuomo had been attacked, he'd still be in jail.

If this involved Democrat Socialists and something they wanted to achieve, I'd suspect a staged event. FTA: "Zeldin, a sitting US congressman from Long Island, was delivering a stump speech about bail reform in Perinton, New York, when he was confronted by Jakubonis."

Again with the "alleged"! Allegations are a legal term for crime that has not been proven. The fact that Zeldin was attacked is not an allegation, its a publicly observed fact. And the legal charges aren't "attacker", he was charged with "attempted assault in the second degree". If you try to kill a member of the First Class Citizens by stabbing them it's called "attempted murder". But Zeldin is Republican so this guy will be doing sold out shows with John Hinckley Jr. in NYC by the weekend. Defend yourself, because the justice system won't.

Where are Biden’s US Attorney and the FBI who have criminal jurisdiction over a perpetrator who physically assaults a U.S. Congressman? What occurred there was a federal felony aggravated assault. If that obvious “nut job” had stabbed Zeldin in the eye with that weapon he could have sustained a lifelong serious injury. Just another example of the two tiered Justice system that is being operated by the Democrats these days, so you can imagine what would have been federal law enforcement’s rapid response if the victim had been a Democrat Congressperson?

I am reminded of a scene from the movie Death Wish. A bunch of construction workers see a thug stealing a purse from a little old lady and chase the thug. When the police arrived, they asked how the thug got so beat up. The construction workers said" He fell."

Knucklehead Of The Week: AOC Is Really

When decision-making time comes during our weekly exercise to determine who to recognize for exceptional stupidity, it seems that the incomparable Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is virtually always a candidate. Aside from President Joe Biden, no one has received the honor more than AOC, with this week marking her fourth appearance. Accordingly, our panel tends to avoid selecting the leader of “The Squad” if possible, considering that there is so much knuckleheadedness out there to call attention to, and it just doesn’t seem fair that the second-term congresswoman should dominate our Saturday tributes. But then again, when she has weeks like this one, her idiocy cannot be ignored.

In the world of politics and the justice system, we seldom find ourselves with absolutes. Even the best politicians and lawyers have their flaws, and even the most disgraceful officials occasionally reveal some redeeming quality. As great as Ronald Reagan was, he apparently lacked when it came to parenting skills, if we are to believe certain members of his family. And as reprehensible as the far-left Bernie Sanders may be, at least he’s philosophically consistent, going after fellow Democrats when he deems necessary and admitting that his far-fetched socialist plans would indeed increase taxes on the middle class. Then we have characters such as Michael Avenatti:

There have been plenty of clownish families over the years who have somehow managed to find themselves in places of prominence on America’s political stage. Perhaps most notable was the Carter Family in the late 1970s. Jimmy Carter was a pathetic leader, and his beer-guzzling, hillbilly brother Billy was a family embarrassment; but at least the Carters had Lillian as the spunky matriarch.
