The Pope Insists on Goosestepping on Sunday

Original Article

WASHINGTON — Pope Francis is up to his old tricks again. He has banned the Latin Mass. Beginning this autumn, Roman Catholics will be greeted every Sunday — and for the truly devout, every day — with the modern post-Vatican II Mass. They will have no alternative. The Latin Mass has been put out of commission. Did you know it was divisive? I did not know that, but Francis knew it, and now he is banning it in a move that is meant, he says, to increase global unity.

Comments:

The communist mole known as Pope Cheech - - is doing everything he can to destroy the Catholic church. Instead of the Latin Mass - - the faithful will soon be treated to the New York Times Editorial Board Mass - - which features worship of abortion and transsexualism.

Not Catholic, but some years ago, my lifetime congregation (my mother carried me to the church in a basket) and we were married there, slipped into 'modernism' via an 'enlightened' new preacher...push came to shove and he told us all that we either accepted the changes or we could leave...sooo, 1/2 the congregation left...we are now in a small country church of the same denomination and never look back...we were 'old' church (preacher wore a tie and suit) and he was 'new' church, wore shorts and carried a golf club, brought in guitars and drums and crap like that...

Who, among Catholics, would have complained about the Latin Mass to Pope Marxist I? What would have offended those complainers about the existence of the occasional Latin Mass being said? I suppose the Pope might not have heard any complaints, but prefers the Vatican II Hootenanny Mass and wants everyone to attend that, instead of allowing the Latin Mass to exist. (There is some amount of irony to catechism instructions offered by the nuns and the priest, back when I was a lad. (1940s) The instructors took time to justify the Latin Mass, by explaining that Latin didn't include slang, or definition changes, over time, so there was truth to Latin that would be lost if the Mass were said in any of the various world languages. In other words, any language, except Latin, could and would corrupt the Mass. My final thought is that you people, especially those of you who are Catholic, might want to go to Youtube, and listen to Tom Lehrer perform the Vatican Rag, a song, he said, that was written in response to the Vatican II call for contemporary liturgical music. If the song doesn't make you laugh, check your pulse. You might not be alive.

I go to Mass with a congregation of priests who say the Mass in English and do it with reverence and solemnity. I grew up with the Latin Mass and love it dearly, but a Mass in the vernacular can be celebrated with great reverence.

i like the latin mass but Tyrrell is an example of how divisive it actually is. I wouldn't ban it myself but Tyrrell is exemplifying the issue. When the Pope is trying to hold out for pro-life, for marriage being a permanent thing between one man and one woman, and so on.... Tyrrell is sucking away his support as best Tyrrell can, in the name of one way rather than another of prayer, and a way unknown in the time of Christ or the early Church.

Emmett Tyrell referred to Wilton Cardinal Gregory as seeming like a reasonable man. He is reasonable in the same manner as Fr. James Martin, Cardinal Cupich and all the rest of the very liberal priests. I'm not sure what Wilton Gregory is up to, but he is up to something, and it is not good.

Latin is known as the dead language. Words never change. Frankie is not increasing global unity. The Church is One, Holy, UNIVERSAL and Apostolic. The words in the Latin Mass never change. The Latin mass is the same, no matter what country one is attending mass in. I still have my missal. Prayers are in Latin. I can take it to mass with me. And use it!

This is like taking the passing of the copperhead snakes in church then praising the lord I just don't like change. Sources tell FOX Business that Pelosi wants President Biden to nominate her to become the next U.S. ambassador to Italy if the GOP takes the House majority in the midterm elections. Biden is holding the spot for the speaker, sources say, which is one reason he has yet to fill the position since taking office. Speculation earlier this year that a Pelosi ally and former Wall Street executive wanted the job has shifted with the increasing likelihood that the GOP takes the majority. There was no clarity yet on how a new Senate will react to a Pelosi nomination

A curious development indeed, especially after yesterday’s pas de deux over whether the FBI took Donald Trump’s passports — and why. Trump claimed that FBI agents “stole my three Passports,” while the Department of Justice remained silent about it until late in the day. Now there are two questions to ask after this NBC News report: why did FBI agents take them in the first place, and why did the inventory from the seizure not list them?

Years ago, I heard that Romans punished murderers by forcing them to carry the corpse of their victims on their backs for as long as it took for them to become infected and die. True or not, that’s the picture I get with Republicans like Bill Barr, Dick Cheney, Mitch McConnell and many others who are so determined to cling to the party’s old ways while cultural and political earthquakes are threatening to destroy America as we know it. When Trump came along as a no-nonsense outsider with a passion for winning “big league,” political curmudgeons were so enslaved to the status quo

Despite positive inflation data this week, Richmond Federal Reserve President Thomas Barkin said Friday that more interest rate increases will be needed to tamp down price pressures. Releases this week showing that consumer and wholesale price increases softened in July were “very welcome,” Barkin told CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” in a live interview. “So we’re happy to see inflation start to move down,” he added. But he noted that, “I’d like to see a period of sustained inflation under control, and until we do that I think we’re just going to have to continue to move rates into restrictive territory.”

In President Joe Biden’s 2007 memoir, Promises to Keep: On Life and Politics, he wrote that the late Sen. Mike Mansfield (D-Mont.) gave him the best advice he ever received: “Joe, never attack another man’s motive, because you don’t know his motive.” Judging from Biden’s increasingly belligerent speeches, he has forgotten Mansfield’s eminently wise counsel. This was rendered abundantly clear during his Thursday speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Standing before a backdrop that looked as if it had been designed by Leni Riefenstahl, he attacked the motives of half the electorate.
