Authorities in California extended a “Flex Alert” telling residents to conserve energy, including not charging their electric vehicles, on Sunday afternoon and evening. The alert has been in effect for several days in the midst of a heat wave that is slated to last through Labor Day. The California Independent System Operator, the manager of the state’s power grid, issued the statewide Flex Alert from 4 to 9 p.m. Residents are urged to set their thermostats to 78 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, avoid using major appliances, avoid charging electric vehicles, and turning off unnecessary lights.

Maybe a "flex alert" should be placed on that dictat by the automotive-engineer geniuses in the California legislature for all-electric cars by 2035. Where are the new power plants to meet the demand for electricty? Electricity doesn't just come out of the wall, ya know.

The forced move to only electric vehicles by the Kalifornia Commiecrats will be a perfect storm. Now people still have their freedom and mobility but with only electric vehicles the state will tell you when you can drive, when you can charge and basically control your every movement. It's a communist's dream scenario.

Time to fire up some coal fired plants to provide the needed electricity. Coming to a town near you. Since bikers are verboten in the US, that leaves coal & natural gas as the obvious backups to keep the grid working uninterrupted. Then you have EV’s being charged using fosssil fuels. Ain’t the Gov smart? Why didn’t we think of this?

U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty, a Trump appointee, ordered the government to quickly produce documents after it was sued by the attorneys general of Louisiana and Missouri over alleged collusion with Big Tech firms such as Facebook. The initial tranche of discovery, released on Aug. 31, revealed that more than 50 government officials across a dozen agencies were involved in applying pressure to social media companies to censor users.

At a national level there is a unique policy priority that almost every politician, on both sides, will avoid discussing. At a national level a single policy priority determines all other national policy issues. That policy is the national economic policy. The national economic policy of a presidential candidate determines all other national policies that flow from the presidential candidate. The national economic policy impacts the obvious policies like energy and trade, and also determines the lesser obvious policies like regulation and even foreign policy. It is specifically because a candidate’s national economic outlook impacts all other issues, that most national politicians never talk about it.
