As shocking as it is unsurprising, an Australian bank chain is providing a terrifying glimpse into the dystopian future that awaits everyone who still believes man-made climate change is worse than chains.
In an August press release, Bank Australia made the stunning announcement that it would cease lending to prospective new car owners in 2025 if the vehicle of their choosing relied on tried-and-true combustion. Instead, new car owners would only be able to procure a new car loan if there are expensive lithium batteries propelling the wheels.

"the dystopian future that awaits everyone who still believes man-made climate change is worse than chains."
The unproven idea of "man-made climate change" is being used
by the Finks and the Schwabs, the WEF types, to forge your chains.
If you let these anti-humanists succeed, those chains will be very difficult to remove.
You better hope de-globalization leaves no "World Economy" to "Forum".
“We think that the responsible thing for us to do next, is to ensure that our vehicle lending doesn’t lock our customers into higher carbon emissions and increasingly expensive running costs in the years ahead.”
Those "increasingly expensive running costs" are the result of deliberate choices and can be changed.
"...if you’re considering buying a new car, you should think seriously about an electric vehicle – both for its impact on the climate and for its lifetime cost savings.”

The Anderson study, however, challenged the presumption that EVs are cheaper to drive — or even cheaper to fuel. It found that powering EVs comes with four hidden costs: the purchase of a home charger, the greatly inflated price of commercial charging at public stations, “deadhead miles” spent driving to find far-flung charging stations and registration taxes that states slap on EV drivers to make up for the fact that they don’t pay gas taxes. The study also factored in the cost of time spent searching for reliable charging stations, which — even when located — can take a half-hour for a charge of 20% to 80%.
Traditional research — like the industry standard provided by DOE — doesn’t take any of that into account. It also presumes a heavily lopsided reliance on cheap, at-home charging instead of expensive commercial charging.

What is the name of Jesus is happening in what was here-to-fore considered the "free world?" Some day before too much time has passed, enough people who don't want their lives controlled by "the state" are going to say "enough" then things will get interesting. Purchase shares in companies that manufacturing fire engines.

After their announcement, no reasonable person would finance a gas fired car through them as of today.

I don't know much about Australian politics, though what little I do know (i.e., gun confiscation) smells bad. But if a major US bank made an announcement like this, it would face considerable backlash from freedom-loving Americans. So far at least, "Go woke, go broke" is more than just a slogan.

Looks like private money lenders are going to cash in. Dealers can carry their own paper. There is always a way.

I thought banks can only lend what their depositors leave in there? Won't be long before average Croc Dundee's $ goes to the banks that aren't looney eco-facists.

Flash in the pan
Step 1 I don't need a car loan, I need a home improvement loan.
Step 2 Nobody is coming to the bank for a loan.
Step 3 Here's your car loan.

I guess we are seeing the end of civilization when the banks line up with the government in a show of fascist power over the very people whom they serve.

Seems Bank Australia is a small fringe left wing bank, they say "We’re the bank for people who believe in a fair and inclusive society. Together with our customers, we’re creating a world where people and the planet thrive."

EV insanity sweeps the world....can none of these wankers understand 'climate change' or whatever catchy phrase they are using now is just a con game to separate people from their money??? I remember back years ago some article about how the collected data .... one of the items was putting thermometers at the end of jetways so they would register higher from the exhaust gasses...

I think Australia is big enough to represent what a monumental green failure looks like and how the rest of the world could avoid it. Since Australia is hellbent on EVs for all they might want to look into their energy infrastructure. Much of Australia is unoccupied, they should be building city sized nuclear power plants somewhere in the middle to supply the entire country with a surplus. Electricity could turn Australia into an economic superpower.

Australian car owners may have to do the same.
