Republicans are lucky to have Mitch McConnell:
Trump’s gripes are beyond ridiculous

Original Article

Former President Donald Trump just slammed Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell (again), blasting him for not stopping the Democrats’ latest spending blowout (the laughably named “Inflation Reduction Act”), which Trump imagines he could’ve done by blocking the latest lifting of the federal debt ceiling, and for generally being “a pawn for the Democrats to get whatever they want.” Ridiculous.

Comments:

The last time I checked - - there was still a contingent on this forum - - who believe that the NY Post is on our side - - and supports President Trump. Maybe this editorial will disabuse some holdouts of those notions.

Sadly, the NYPost is still in NYC, and therefore, corrupted. Lots of times they're on our side, but deep down that NY liberalism cannot help but seep through. McConnell has only done one thing right in the last decade, at least: confirming (conservative?) judges and keeping Garland off the SCOTUS. Trump is right, but as usual, says it so brazenly that it makes some cringe.

The Post is delivered to our house every day and is gone over cover-to-cover. In recent years, their front page stories and lead editorials are decidedly anti-Trump. There are a few squish "conservative" columnists, also. I always read the Letters to the Editor, and sadly note that there are more liberals appearing there, too. This has been infuriating, but I'd agree with #2 in recognizing that it still is a NYC paper. I haven't been posting here as long as others, but I don't feel that there are "contingents" who are blindly pro-NYPost. It must be acknowledged, though, that the paper has exposed SO much more in terms of legitimate reporting on the horrifyingly dangerous goings-on of the Swamp types. We read in-depth pieces on illegal immigration, societal horrors, crime, the economy, family issues, etc, most of which are never touched upon in mainstream publications. Add in fun entertainment tidbits, puzzles, business coverage, and a huge sports section, and you have a great paper to spend some time with each day. I full-well recognize when stories are against us, but appreciate the many exposes and deep background pieces that are on the side of bringing TRUTH to readers. If and when they go to the dark side, I will no longer buy the paper.

Trumps point is that Mitch could/should have done more...Schumer and the Dems have zero qualms about saying they are out for blood, taking scalps, in ANY way they can...including lies, and bending(breaking) Laws. Mitch is "Too Affable" (quoting Wyatt Earp) As is the Post, where are their stories about the "Reconciliation" Bill? What was it's name in the House? What was it's name in the Senate...BEFORE it was gutted of original contents/intent, filled with Green Nude Eel garbage/spending and replaced with the new name of the "Inflation Reduction Act", and allowing it to be "Deemed as Passed". Where were they and Mitch in insisting that CBO Scoring be completed/presented BEFORE the vote? Mitch was/is good on somethings...but in a fight to the death(which the dems freely admit they are engaged in) He wants to keep the Gloves on...though they have picked up cudgels and knives. "They demanded an Arm and a Leg...Mitch talked them into taking a hand and a foot, He SAVED you from being crippled!"- NY Post supporting McConnell

The republic has never been in such danger. Even the Civil War would have resulted in two stable entities. Instead, the '20 election was stolen and a usurper sits in the Oval Office, destroying the nation with every stroke of the pen. This nation will not exist by 2024. As ridiculous as it sounds, Trump is right. The truly elected president should be in office and the imposter should be in prison. The nation will not otherwise survive this cancerous condition. Now or never... I repeat, now or never.

Well, Mitch does have a couple redeeming qualities. He's tough as nails when it comes to getting judges approved. And he's a fairly decent "minority leader," because he has the bargaining chip to bring the needed 10 votes to pass legislation. He's useless as a majority leader and as a party leader.

The liberal enclave of Martha’s Vineyard has been thrown into chaos by the arrival of two planeloads of migrants sent there by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to local reports. Local officials on the Massachusetts island were told about the new arrivals during a Wednesday night meeting of the West Tisbury Select Board — with Town Administrator Jennifer Rand saying she’d been receiving “furious texts” from residents, the MV Times reported. “I’m a little unclear about the situation, as is everybody, because everybody is scrambling a bit,” Rand said.

Speculation earlier this year that a Pelosi ally and former Wall Street executive wanted the job has shifted with the increasing likelihood that the GOP takes the majority. There was no clarity yet on how a new Senate will react to a Pelosi nomination

Trump claimed that FBI agents “stole my three Passports,” while the Department of Justice remained silent about it until late in the day. Now there are two questions to ask after this NBC News report: why did FBI agents take them in the first place, and why did the inventory from the seizure not list them?

It may be time to pass on gas. The more than 40 million households in the US who use a gas stove might want to consider an alternative. New findings have shown that gas stoves — even when turned off — may cause asthma in children and put adults at risk of cancer. Dr. Jonathan Levy, an environmental health professor at Boston University, claimed the stoves may pollute the air with nitrogen dioxide, which can cause lung damage. The pollutant, a “byproduct of fuel combustion,” is also the same that is produced on major highways, but since the kitchen is an enclosed space, it puts inhabitants at more risk.

An army of more than 200 MAGA candidates ready to fight for Donald Trump's agenda is marching into November's midterm races, after a heated primary season that proved the ex-president remains, for the most part, the de facto leader of the Republican Party. Trump has played a heavy hand in the 2022 election cycle thus far, endorsing candidates both for Congress and state executive roles in races that normally do not get the national attention he's brought to them. He's also jetted around the country to campaign with their voters in his signature 'Make America Great Again' rallies, including a forthcoming appearance in Ohio on Saturday for Senate candidate JD Vance.
