Nearly 200,000 homes and businesses in England are at risk of being lost to rising sea levels by the 2050s, a new study has warned.
Researchers said the country could face around 14 inches (35cm) of sea level rise compared to historic levels within 30 years and is nearly certain to see close to 3ft (1m) of advancement by the end of the century.
It comes a week after the official in charge of Britain's flood protection said some of Britain's seaside towns and villages may have to be abandoned because of rising seas and coastal erosion.
The new study also cautioned that it may not be possible to protect some communities,

Maps are based on an annual increase in sea level of close to 13mm. Current measured rise is somewhere around 2mm and has been relatively stable for as long as it has been measured. The claim that the sea level will rise over 1 meter in just 80 years is ludicrous at best. The report also appears to blame all coastal erosion on sea level rise and global warmin, as if those cliffs have not been eroding for centurys. Cliff edges crumble, thats what they do, gravity works every time it does not matter if the cliff is granite or sand they always slowly crumble and recede. Beaches erode all the time, its how they work as well. This is all based on computer models that have failed to predict climate time after time after time. Yet no matter how many times these madels fail in their predictions climate "scientists", desperate for more government funding, continue to scaremonger the most dire responses they can coax from their computer generated mathmatical delusions.

And yet, the Elites who have all that secret magical knowledge keep buying up beach side properties. Hmm...

I’ve been hearing this same load of crap for almost 50 years. They always blame it on the melting of the polar ice caps.
I’ve used a basic physics demonstration for years on people who spout this nonsense. Fill a glass with crushed ice. Now, fill the glass with water, right up to the brim. When the ice melts, does the glass overflow? No, because water expands when it freezes, and takes up more volume than the water that the ice was made from. It’s why pipes burst when the water inside them freezes. If the polar ice caps melted entirely, then sea levels would go DOWN slightly, not up.
It’s the quickest way to shut them up.

They have learned from Al Gore not to make disproven predictions of ice-free arctic summers within the next 10 years. Their problem now is that people are not motivated by warnings of distant doom.

We just went on a trip to the Maldives.. and thank goodness Al Gore and his scientists were terribly wrong with their claims that island nation would be under water by now. These fools constantly try to use FEAR to drive their message and get more money for their research. Micheal Crichton was so right many years ago in his book State of Fear.

Then again it could not. Kind of like the lawyers who say that you can sue someone because their product 'may' cause cancer. Carrots may cause cancer as well as any other organic vegetables. There is no definitive proof on the matter and you cannot prove a negative so that leaves the door open for all kinds of idiocy.

Bull manure.
After the end of the last Ice Age, about 10,000 years ago, when a huge portion of all the land surface of the planet was covered in kilometers deep ice sheets, extending as far south as Nebraska in North America, as the ice on land began to melt, it flowed to the oceans. This causes the oceans to rise FOR 10,000 years, nothing to do with humans. Long term measurements have measured this ocean rise at about 12-13 inches per CENTURY. Since the oceans have tides due to the orbiting moon, which causes sloshing in the oceans which we call tides, all places on earth have from three feet to 26 FEET of tidal variation in the local ocean depth at shore twice a day. These tiny increases over decades are entirely lost in these daily tides, and only after many decades can a slight change be found.
So the geniuses at the DM say all this flooding will happen "In just THIRTY years"......it was "IN JUST 12 years".....we were told forty or fifty years ago, that all their dire predictions were going to "come true".
NONE of their scary boogeyman stories have come true. We keep waiting for even ONE of their predictions to happen...NOPE, still nothing. All just scary stories to keep them in power and money.
This very old rock still keeps orbiting the Sun, and spinning on it's axis, day follows night, and the seasons come and go, and WEATHER happens, highly variable - as has been the case FOREVER. And NONE of it is affected by humans and their activities.

This doesn’t pass the smell test. For one thing, most wealthy people aren’t wealthy because they’re dumb. If they believed their property would soon be worthless and then underwater, they would not own it.

I don't know about you but I could care less if their "vacation" homes go under water. This has been supposedly coming for over fifty years and still the coasts are not underwater and still most islands in the oceans haven't sunk beneath the waves. The chicken littles always have some horrible maybe gonna happen event from nuclear war and winter to global warming and now global weather changes. The weather always changes and yet still we are here. We haven't starved the world due to inability to feed ourselves rather because of political or social actions. THE SKY IS FALLING THE SKY IS FALLING, and yet the sky never falls. Heat and cold come and go, hurricanes and tornadoes occur, earthquakes and volcanoes erupt and still we are here. People die and more people are born, still we are here.

Since the cure for this prediction will very clearly cause millions(or even billions) to die from the famine created by discontinuing the use of fossil fuel WILL the "scientists" who are making this dire prediction be willing to have themselves and their families put to death if in 30 years it turns out they are wrong.

To Reply #2....of COURSE they were! Let us revisit a few for our own amusement....
In 1989 Salon reported on scientist Jim Hanson's statement that the West Side H'way that runs along
the Hudson River in New York would be underwater by 2019 (it's still dry).
Also in 1989 (a year full of prophecies), UN officials predicted that rising seas could "obliterate nations"
by the year 2,000.
In 1988 The Canberra Times of Australia predicted the end of the Maldives and its 1196 islands within
the next 30 years (that 30-year mark seems to be a popular benchmark for outlandish predictions).
There are many more of course but I'll just give this one, my favorite headline of all time from December 2018:
"Ten years ago Al Gore predicted that the North Polar ice cap would be gone by 2013. Inconveniently,
it's still there."

We live in Monty Python World - one absurdity after another delivered with a straight face. In the case of climate catastrophe these fanatics have been prophecying death and destruction for decades and, despite not a single one of their dire predictions coming even close to actually occurring, will continue to warn of looming disaster into the forseeable future. Like a belief in the chameleon ability of people to change sex at whim or the existence of racist Nazis under every bed this belief in climate catastrophe is based solely on ideology - an ideology that has NEVER delivered on any of its promises of a bright future but only delivered destruction, chaos, mayhem and mass murder.
