We haven’t even had the 2022 election yet and talk of 2024 is already heating up. Naturally, Donald Trump remains at the top of the conversation on the Republican side, but Ron DeSantis has become nearly as talked about as a probable challenger. The latter has burst onto the scene the last two years as a no-nonsense, fighter of a governor who also has a knack for making the liberal press look ridiculous. Those are skills that GOP voters love, and they’ve earned DeSantis high marks nationally from the Republican base. That he’s also become the leader in the culture wars has only caused his star to rise further.
Just how far has he risen? The first primary poll

Trump is on the decline and DeSantis is on the rise. Conservatives need a standard bearer who does not have Trump's personality or his baggage.

Trump beat Biden last time, and now the voters who did support Biden have the worst case of buyers remorse in the history of polling. Trump’s approval rating tower over Biden’s. They want us to believe their poll that says Trump would lose to Biden. This is designed to manipulate us, and that’s all. Everyone knows they have consistently lied and manipulated us, but we keep letting them do it. Yet another “dump Trump” tactic.

I think Trump can do more good by fund raising and helping to get rid of RINOs. Don't get me wrong I'd vote for him in a second but the more I hear from DeSantis the more I like him.

Trump is the most feared & hated between the two. That's all I need to know. MAGA & America First. Can DeSantis take the incoming fire like Trump and survive, much less get anything done? Maybe, maybe not. Why take a chance when you have already have a battle tested fighter like Trump? He was under constant heavy enemy fire and flourished. It is wishful thinking to think DeSantis can waltz in and get the same results.

DeSantis will lose two years time learning the ropes and will get the same media treatment as Trump if he declares to run. Trump is the only fighter ready on day one to make progress. If you don’t like his tone or the baggage created by the media and Rinos tough! He’s the only chance we have to destroy the democrats and their globalist friends. Never Trumpers need to switch to the Democrat party that who you really are.

Guess it’s time to start convincing people that PRESIDENT Trump is losing support.
It’s a waste of ink.
Gov DeSantis is arising star. Which is wonderful. But not ready for the crap that the Dems and rinos will toss out there.
I think a Trump DeSantis ticket woukd be great. That way PRESIDENT Trump could help DeSantis learn the ropes. And where all the garbage is in the swamp. Knowing all about the swamp and it’s inhabitants is why the Dems and rinos will try to convince people to not vote for PRESIDENT Trump.

To Poster-Namma, can you just imagine what a sweet ticket that would be? Four years for Trump to undo the wrongs done to us/him (same thing really), while Desantis gets all revved up for his run in 2028. And don't think for one minute that Desantis would be sitting on his behind as V.P. I'm darn sure he'd be taking lead and spearheading some of their policies. 2024 is so, so far away...

Crap poll and not worth repeating.

DeSantis would be wasted in the vice presidency and he well knows it. We need him here in FL.
And don't assume that 2024 is a lock for the GOP. The Dems won't nominate any of the klown kar kandidates. Keep your eye on Roy Cooper, current governor of N.C.

DeSantis has nothing -- and I do mean nothing -- to gain from running for president in 2024!!!!!! He is young, and he is very smart. If he serves as Trump's biggest cheerleader in 2024, and continues to build his conservative resume as governor of Florida, then he gets all of Trump's supporters, and I'm guessing a ton of $$$ and support from Trump himself, to run on in 2028!!!!!
You have to remember that a fairly large percentage of the 70,000,000+ voters that voted for Donald Trump in the last election absolutely hate and despise the Republican Party for stabbing President Trump in the back!!! Even if it means giving Lyin' Joe bidet 4 more years as senile-puppet-president for his Communist puppet masters, they will sit home on election day if Donald Trump is not the Republican candidate. That will also hurt all down-ballot Republican candidates!!! They are sick of politics-as-usual and are not going to hold their proverbial noses and vote for someone they see as just another Republi-Can't backstabber!!!
The Demon-Rats understand this dynamic, so expect article after article from their minions in the MSM playing up the "rift" between Trump and DeSantis. I just hope and pray that, if this nation has any chance to survive, that DeSantis heeds my warning. It's not going to be pretty if he doesn't!!!!!

The two morons who replaced the late and brilliant Rush Limbaugh were fanning the flames of "The Trump vs DeSantis boondoggle yesterday. As my dear Uncle would often say, "Its all noise." Trump and the MAGA movement are #1 and the country has much to be thankful to them. Let them rise again.
As a hypothetical, if DeSantis were to challenge Trump for the 2024 nomination, that would be unfortunate and my guess is that Ron is much more loyal to The American People to do that.

I agree with #14. If Trump is kicked to the Curb by his own Party, those millions who voted for him last time, only to see that win stolen, WILL stay home! That will get us another 4 years of Democrat Rule! We need to wait until Trump announces what HE wants to do. If he wants to run, we should support him AND I believe Governor DeSantis will also support him. If he announces he is BACKING DeSantis, then I think the Governor will win! I also think Trump might run and take DeSantis as his VP. He won't be a "Do Nothing VP". He would be right in the mix of things and doing whatever Trump needs him to do! So, we have time to see what Trump decides. Then we should get behind whoever is OUR Candidate and work our Tails off to get him elected!

#9 and #17 are on it. Trump comes in and carpetbombs the swamp dwellers, and DeSantis has 8 years to follow up. That's 12 years of attrition. Otherwise things could be fundamentally changed forever!

Priority #1) Don't fall into the trap of Trump and DeSantis fighting one another damaging either's ability to win the general election, or allowing a weaker primary candidate to prevail. We need them both to be subsets of the same team, no cannibalization.
Priority #2) Don't get all sentimental either way. We needed Trump, I didn't fully realize that in 2016, I stood with Cruz, but by God we needed Trump. Be practical, we need the best person for the next phase and if Trump has been too wounded, our feelings for the unfairness of that including the 2020 fraud, and our well thought out foresight to know that whomever is next will suffer similarly, shouldn't stand in the way of making the call in 2024.

If this is accurate, even close, FPDT is indeed on the decline as a candidate. #1 and 3 pretty much summarize why. Of course, the Trumpista crowd doesn't like the idea that the MAGA movement can survive the man. Realistically, the UNIPARTY ran him off in '20, and it will do the same should FPDT declare as a candidate. You'll get four more years of turmoil, charges, mean tweets and a quick impeachment from which Mitch has already said conviction is likely as the GOPe will not "save" him again. Or, we can elect a Democrat to provide the nation with a lesson...like we're not being taken to school right now.
DeSantis looks like a legitimate MAGA alternative, like it or not. His not pursuing a Trump endorsement is very telling. So is his growing war chest. Short of some scandal, I don't see his popularity collapsing. FPDT is a known commodity - love or hate. But, we shall see.

They polled "likely primary voters." NH voters take their "first primary in the nation" role seriously.
My top priority in 2024 is winning. I think DeSantis gives conservatives their best chance of winning. I voted for Trump twice, and would do so again if he is the nominee. But I fear Trump's demeanor will continue to turn off voters we will need to win. His ego is so big that he borders on being narcissistic. The last straw for me was when he said it was OK with him if Stacy Abrams won the GA governorship. This is a clear example of Trump bowing to his huge ego, to the determent of the conservative movement. Imagine Stacy Abrams being in charge of the voting process in GA, a key swing state. That's is OK with Trump....sad.
