President Biden does not “believe in” proposals to harden schools against potential gunmen, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Tuesday. “I know there’s been conversation about hardening schools, that is not something he believes in,” Jean-Pierre told reporters at a White House press conference. “He believes that we should be able to give teachers the resources to be able to do their job.” Jean-Pierre made the comments while speaking about the possibility of bipartisan legislation to address gun violence, in the wake of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, last week. A gunman killed 19 students and two adults in the shooting at Robb Elementary School.

And there it is. The Dems do not care about anybody or anything if it isn't about gaining power or infringing upon our Constitutional rights. This is EXACTLY what we should be doing to protect our schools, as well as encouraging teachers to carry. Stop relying upon the gvt and gvt institutions for protection-they'd rather parade your dead corpse to score political points.

When the building they work in was "breached" they called in the Army and encased themselves inside a barbed wire fence. He doesn't want to discuss securing the schools? Could the teacher who propped the door open have become complacent do to having to go on "lock-down" 48 times since the school year began do to drug smugglers moving through after they crossed Biden's open border? When they focus on the guns rather then the REAL problem's, they will pass some garbage, they will pat themselves on the back and all will be forgotten until the next time. Look at Sandy Hook. It happened on the Obama/Biden watch. If they were so smart why didn't they fix the problem then? If they did anything it obviously didn't work. It is up to PARENTS and the community to come up with a plan designed for their specific situation school, and implement it. Look at nursing homes and retirement complexes too. Parents, like those in Virginia can move mountain's.

Re #11's assumption: It is correct. I haven't kneed or elbowed anyone since martial arts days three decades ago, and even then, we were all wearing head gear and pads before we went to it in the ring. No one got hurt. That wasn't the point of the exercise. YrHmblSrvnt has had a vision of the universe's greatest punter, a punter with superhuman powers, kicking this ridiculous figure, converted to an inflated pigskin, not downfield but out of the stadium sideways. rising up in a magnificent arc above the stadium floodlights in a perfect spiral, topping its arc before nosing over and plunging a long way down through the 30th row vomitorium, and out of the arena with one enormous outward bounce off the concrete ramp and gone forever underneath ... is also facetiously rhetorical, but it helps me to smile when there's not much to smile about. Sometimes I remember Charles Manson's warning to us all: "In my mind's eye my thoughts light fires in your cities." Yeah, blow it out you dead derriere, Manson. Good people can think bad thoughts, too. They just don't act on them. Who hasn't hoped for a righteous God or even fortuitous fortune to intervene in a hopeless situation?.

A video of a man being held by one man and as others beat him on a New York subway platform has been making the rounds. But this isn’t merely your average clip of an Asian being attacked in Gotham. In a twist, the man holding the victim from behind told the videographer that his captive had attempted to sexually assault a female passenger on a subway. The videographer then called the police.

Do masks prevent transmission of COVID-19? Yes, reports the New York Times’ David Leonhardt — in the laboratory. In the real world, no data definitively establishes effectiveness of masking, and especially of mask mandates. The difference matters, Leonhardt warns, because upticks in transmission and hospitalization will likely have policymakers reverting back to mask mandates even though there is no data that shows an impact on either: Masks reduce the spread of the Covid virus by preventing virus particles from traveling from one person’s nose or mouth into the air and infecting another person. Laboratory studies have repeatedly demonstrated the effect. Given this, you would think that communities

Justices John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett, Sonia Sotomayor and Stephen Breyer ruled in favor of tech industry groups looking to block the law, with Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch and Elena Kagan dissenting. The decision is a win for tech groups pushing back on laws coming from Republican-controlled state legislatures that seek to put barriers on social media companies’ ability to moderate content.

Washington—A federal jury on Tuesday found former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann not guilty of lying to the FBI — finding special counsel John Durham did not prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt. The verdict by a jury in heavily Democratic-leaning DC, came midway through the second day of deliberations following a two-week trial on a single count of making false statements to a federal agent. Durham’s prosecution team unsuccessfully sought to prove that Sussmann deliberately lied to then-FBI general counsel James Baker by claiming not to be acting on behalf of the Clinton campaign and an internet executive when the two met in 2016.

Biden, he writes, has revised the concept of the West, but Will writes that Biden’s achievement will not earn him political dividends because “what Americans usually want in foreign policy is as little as possible.”
