University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) professor and MSNBC contributor Anthea Butler suggested that Texas police didn’t respond sooner to the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde because they “didn’t give a damn” about a school filled with mostly “brown kids.”
“So since no one else will ask, I will. Did those children die because most of them were Mexican American and the police didn’t give a damn about a school w predominately brown kids? I mean, because it’s Texas.. and if you think everyone who isn’t white is illegal,” Butler tweeted on Friday.
The UPenn professor has since deleted her tweet,

Wonder what her take on abortion is? You know, where 40% of babies aborted are little black and brown ones. And I'll bet $5 that most abortionists are White males.

Silly woman doesn’t know that most - if not all - of the Uvalde Police Department is “Mexican-American”. Undoubtedly matches the Uvalde demographics/

Did you look at her???!!!! Yikes. One woman freak show!
FTA:
ast year, the professor said that evangelicals did not follow Christian scripture, but rather, that they followed the Republican Party. That same year, Butler claimed that evangelical Christians are white racists who “may end up killing us all.”
In 2015, the professor also attacked Dr. Ben Carson, saying that he deserved a “‘coon of the year’ award.”
Tenured, no doubt.

Easy to say sitting safely in a secure academic office in Pennsylvania far removed from any real danger. It is easy to criticize and armchair quarterback after the fact. Real life is a lot different than academia however.

What the....??? Less than 14% of the population there is considered "White", though over 80% is White/Hispanic in the official census description, also less than 14% were "Born in another country". They are NOT "Mexicans", many are Tejanos/Texicans, dating back to before the Mexican Independence from Spain, joined with the American settlers to lobby for statehood within Mexico in 1813, were defeated, then again in 1820, before Santa Ana came to power, were/are related to members of the Texas Republic who defeated Santa Ana in 1836(He marched his army right through Uvalde on his way to San Antonio from Del Rio. The southwest border of Tejas was at the Nueces River), many families where already there long before Mexico sold everything north of the Rio Grande in 1848.
She don't know Texas...that county voted 60/40 Rep/dem for decades, nearly all of the city/county/state offices there are and have been Repub for decades, with hispanic office holders.

Clearly almost everyone involved in the school shooting in Uvale, Texas was a Tejano or a Texican. That includes the children in the school, the teachers, the entire Uvalde Police Department and of course the perpetrator. That’s the way it is in all the Texas border or near the border towns that consist of a mixture of Majority Hispanic and minority Anglo culture. Chances are half or more of the US Border Patrol Agents stationed there were also Tejanos, Texicans or are of Hispanic heritage.
The apparent incompetent response by local law enforcement had nothing to do with the children’s race or ethnicity. Reportedly some of the Border Patrol Agent’s children attended the school and one of the wives of the Border Patrol agents was a teacher at the school. Also reportedly the Chief of the school district police, also a Tejano or Texican who was born and grew up in Uvalde ordered local law enforcement not to enter the school as the shooter had stopped shooting. That order was against established law enforcement active shooter protocols and may have caused already wounded children to bleed out and die. Who knows for certain at this point. That stopped when Border Patrol Agents disregarded the Chief’s flawed instructions, and took it upon themselves to enter the school, where they located the shooter and killed him. The ultimate blame for those murders lies with the perpetrator who obviously was a violent mental case or was at least an extremely anti social personality bent on committing suicide by cop.

Is this Anthea Butler nuts? The school children were Mexican and so are the men of the police force. Race/ethnicity actually played not part in this...just a great deal of confusion and misunderstanding.

I have a brown "kid". First I point out that the word KID is the label for baby goats. Humans are called CHILDREN.
I was born in the United States. My brown child was born in the United States. My father designed the cockpit of the B36. I directed a state program for 20 years in the United States.
My brown child is 9 and reads 5th grade books; she is half way through a program where she learns Latin.
I confess, however, that I do not own a TV.

A simple Wikipedia search would have determined that Hispanics make up almost 80% of the population; whites not quite 20.
The people largely identify as Tejanos. Wikipedia defines Tejanos as: the residents of the state of Texas who are culturally descended from the Mexican population of Tejas and Coahuila that lived in the region prior to it becoming what is now known as the state of Texas before it became a US state in 1845. The term is also sometimes applied to all Texans of Mexican descent.

Limbaugh liked to point out that most Liberal academic elites had been educated into imbecility. I doubt that was the case for Professor Butler, who was likely born directly into it.
