Supreme Court law clerks are being asked to turn over their personal cell phone records and sign affidavits as the search ramps up for the person who leaked the draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade.Language of the affidavits and what the scope of the cell phone search will be are not yet clear, sources familiar with the efforts told CNN – but the potential of handing over their personal devices have clerks exploring their options, including hiring outside counsel.
Considering the crack down on law clerks, it's likely the court has not yet been successful in determining the source of the breach.

Since most are liberals, they have had weeks to delete data and destroy phones with hammers, just like Hillary’s state department did.

Why wasn’t this done on day one? It’s far too late now. It would almost make you think that they aren’t that interested in finding the leaker. If they were, they would have found him/her by now.

Weeks have passed and almost nothing has been investigated. Roberts does not want to know the ID of the leaker because it's possible, if not probable, the leaker is a justice, most probably Sotomayor.
Searching the clerks' personal phones is being proposed as a trial balloon so the liberal media can cry, cry, cry that the clerks are being victimized, which happened today on TV.
No innocent Clerk has anything to fear except having his or her personal phone searched. No Clerk wants that. Forget any phone search and bring out the lie detectors.
If no Clerk or other staff employee is identified as the leaker, there will be no investigation of any justice. Isn't this special? It may be the real plan?

Hmm! What could possibly be on any of the clerks' phones that would jeopardize their jobs.....or the integrity of the SCOTUS?

The Marshals could get the records themselves if they really wanted to. That is the key right there, they don't really want to.

It would not surprise me if the liberal bloc moves to protect its own clerks. Maybe an order by each of them to their staffs not to cooperate further in an administrative process as to which there is no consensus at this time.

The stream of lies continues. The entire action is not meant to overturn anything. Some leftist fool leaked this information to stir up the democrat fringe into a frenzy and it may not even have been a clerk.

I actually heard on a news broadcast that Justice Roberts was of the opinion that he would just let this fizzle out as a one off. Can you imagine the Chief Justice actually justifying a breach of secrecy that has been sacrosanct to the way the Court functions as something to be ignored or swept under the rug? That is mind boggling and is an indicator that Roberts’ priority is not the importance of protecting the decisions rendered by court, but the protection of the reputation of “his” court which is a clear indicator this man is unfit to hold that office.

My initial reaction was that the suspect pool was pretty small, largely containing law clerks. After reading an article this morning, if true, electronic and hard copies of the opinion available to a much larger group of people. We may never know who did this.

Good to read that the egregious acts of our current law enforcement will be visited upon the highest levels of the judicial branch. They have ignored our rights for far too long and it's time they got a taste of what others have had to endure. Maybe then, maybe, they'll rethink their legal opinions and restore rights.

It's just a matter of time before the leaker is identified. Assuming that only the SCOTUS law clerks would have had access to the draft opinion and not other non-legal SCOTUS staff, the leaker is more likely working for the wise latina or Justice Kagan. Since Breyer still sits on the bench pending his actual retirement date later this year, his successor, I don't think Ketanji Brown would have clerks of the court yet who could have accessed the document.
Once identified, here's what I think will happen. Since the leaker will likely be a very young female dim, is black or a white tranny and a true-blue political activist, the individual will be asked to resign or will be fired. Then the person will make herself/himself/itself/binaryself the face of the dim party as the one who stood up to white supremacy at the SCOTUS level. This person's career as a clerk of the court will be over. And this person will then rile up the dim base and all women just before the November mid-term elections and just before Justice Alito finalizes his opinion to overturn Roe and push the matter back to the states where it belongs.
So now, the dims have manufactured two wedge issues to benefit them comes the mid-terms: 1) the Uvalde shootings and gun control and 2) Roe v. Wade. This will keep their base in constant anger. They know well how to play the game as evil as they are.

To stop such leaks in the future, the Justices should stick to their guns and make their leaked draft decision their final decision. If not, the court is going to be dealing with a lot of future leaked decisions, making them look like a bunch of wimps who are being bullied through leaks to change their votes on upcoming decisions turning their operation into a kangaroo court.

Chief Roberts heading up the investigation is Mr. Inspector Cousteau, stumbling, bumbling, of the Pink Panther movie.
Wish we could impeach him.

Perhaps the truth will surface...and there will be a clerk hung out to dry...one can only hope Alito will follow through...of course Roberts...who has been compromised by obama...hasn't the courage to do what's right...he's afraid of something...what?...who know...maybe his family was threatened by the FBI..the federal bureau of intimidation....
