Cinemas around the country are reportedly fearing an imminent shortage of popcorn and other concession stand staples, including popcorn bags and beverage cups, as the supply chain failures of the Biden administration threaten to upend what theaters were hoping would be a mass return to moviegoing this summer. Movie theater operators expressed nervousness at the recent CinemaCon industry gathering about their ability to stock concession stands for the summer and Christmas seasons, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. “Popcorn supply will be tight,” Norm Krug, chief executive of Preferred Popcorn, a supplier of kernels to theater chains, told the newspaper. “It’s a mess,” a theater owner said.

Although the Top Gun remake is doing well, I believe that this is an anomaly. A sizeable portion of the public is sick of the Hollywood woke agenda. Cinema attendance thus will not recover to pre-Wuhan Flu levels. The fear of a popcorn shortage is thus exaggerated.

On the upside, there's plenty of corn available to make ethanol, with which Americans by law (thanks, Green George) must use to ruin their engines and pollute the atmosphere, all while enjoying cars that run hotter and get worse fuel economy and performance.

There is a much more severe shortage of decent movies in the first place....so who cares about whether popcorn is available.

Theater popcorn hasn't been any good since they stopped popping it fresh. Warm styrofoam peanuts would taste better than what they serve now.

Theater prices have been abnormally inflated for years. If they think they are going to prosper on $20 tickets, $15 popcorn and a $10 coke to watch a woke, weak and sexually perverted stream of movies, they might as well board up the windows now.

Stopped going to theaters 15-20 years ago. The movies were crap, they began cranking the volume up to 50,000 decibels, small popcorn and a coke spud in north of $10.......who needs it. 40 years ago it was a rare weekend you couldn’t find a decent movie to go see.....no more. Think I’ll stay home and watch another classic on TCM and pop my own corn.

The popcorn shortage is because all of us MAGA supporters have bought up all the popcorn in preparation for the Election Night results for the November midterms. I expect there will be another popcorn shortage in January 2023 in preparation for the Impeachment of the Fake President Biden

We'll be going to the latest Top Gun movie. Probably the only movie we'll see this year. A family member wore the shirt I got him when he went to the movie. On the front is the "Top Gun" logo from the movie across the chest. On the back it says "Goose would be alive, if I had been flying". When I saw it, I had to get it for this former F-14 fighter pilot, because it's true. He's been a test pilot for many years now, and yes, I believe that "Goose" would be alive because the situation in the movie was avoidable by not putting the aircraft into excessive yaw ("ball not centered") which the Congressionally mandated, marginal, substitute engines in the early F-14s could not abide, and they'd compressor stall at high angle of attack and excessive yaw from a sloppy pilot in air combat maneuvering. The early F-14s were tricky to fly at the extreme edges of the performance envelope. This compressor stall could get the aircraft into a unrecoverable flat spin. Would never have happened to a really skilled F-14 pilot. Later models had the proper engines when Congressional funding was restored decades later, and were far more forgiving to fly in a dogfight.

I installed a ceiling mounted projector and 100" drop down screen and stereo system a couple years ago because I knew I never wanted to go to a theater again. I have saved the movies I care about for years and am very selective of what I add now because Hollywood hasn't put out a decent movie in years. They may come out with maybe one a year now, but most are garbage. I also have plenty of popcorn and will be using it if any of the swamp actually get convicted of the crimes they've done.

Another reason for Dems to worry: Low

Politico reports on another reasons for Democrats to worry about the upcoming midterms. In deep blue California the number of ballots being returned in primaries is looking low so far. After this week’s break in the primary calendar, seven states will hold elections on Tuesday. In the biggest of them, California, Democrats are already looking at some troubling early turnout numbers: So far, only about 2.2 million Californians have returned ballots. That’s less than a third of the total early vote at this point in California’s recall election last year. Primary turnout is traditionally a poor indicator of general election turnout. But

President Biden said the Second Amendment is "not absolute" in a speech Thursday following a wave of mass shootings across the nation, pleading with to Congress to pass what he called "commonsense" gun control legislation, including reinstating an assault weapons ban, requiring background checks, and limiting magazine capacity. The president, speaking from the Cross Hall of the White House, told Americans that the issue of restricting access to guns "is one of conscience and common sense." "For so many of you at home, I want to be very clear – this is not about taking away anyone's guns," the president said. "It is not about vilifying gun owners. In fact,

Over the last several days, a deluge of insider stories dropped about the inner workings of the White House. Needless to say, none of them have painted a positive picture. On Wednesday, news of infighting between Joe Biden and his staff broke, leaving the obvious question of who is actually in charge. One complaint revolved around the president’s handlers constantly coming behind him to change his statements. Another centered on Biden being so ill-informed about the various, mostly self-inflicted crises that have plagued his tenure. Now, another report via CNN is offering more details about just how chaotic things are. With the White House adrift, the backstabbing has commenced.

Michael Avenatti, the former attorney for Stormy Daniels, was sentenced to four years in prison on Thursday for stealing nearly $300,000 in book advance money from the adult film star. The sentencing comes after a federal jury convicted Avenatti in February of aggravated identity fraud and wire fraud, for which he faced up to two years in prison and 20 years in prison, respectively. The jury found Avenatti stole two advance payments from Daniels in 2018 from a book deal she signed following the revelation that she received $130,000 in hush money from former President Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, to remain quiet about an alleged affair she

The topic of inflation is in the news nearly every day and is now the top concern among voters in most polls. Things are likely to get even worse. Most Americans are familiar with the all items Consumer Price Index (CPI). This metric is based on changes for all consumer goods and services. However, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Economic Research Service measures the changes to retail food prices only. The agency’s May Food Price Outlook should add to voter concerns. While the all items CPI for April was 8.3%, food alone increased by 9.4%, according to the USDA. Food consumed at home also increased

The other part may have been you likely started out with an unfavorable jury, to begin with, in D.C., but then, in this case, you also seemed

Turkey will now officially be known as Türkiye after the country's government moved to swerve associations with the ground-feeding festive bird and a term for failure. The United Nations will adopt the new name from this week at Ankara's request. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said the change came into place 'from the moment' a letter sent by Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. President Erdogan ruled in November that goods manufactured in the country must now be labelled 'Made in Türkiye'. The alternative spelling expresses Turkish people's 'culture, civilisation and values', he said. Türkiye is pronounced Tur-key-yay, in line with how Turks annunciate the country's name.
