Biden’s train-wreck economy

Original Article

In its lineup this morning RealClearPolitics has done us the service of going back to Daniel Henninger’s weekly Wall Street Journal column of this past Thursday on “Joe Biden’s train-wreck economy” (behind the Journal’s paywall). We noted Biden’s reference in Tokyo to the “incredible transition” he is engineering to renewable energy and a green economy. A beautiful future awaits, if we can draw on our savings to pay $5.00 a gallon and more at the pump. I took the talk of “transition” as more mush from the wimp. Henninger makes a persuasive case that “Biden” is to be taken seriously:

“Our economy is in a transition from what has been the strongest recovery in modern American history to what can be a period of more stable and resilient growth that works better for families.” This is just more FJB BS. Works better for families - Really? Cost more to get to work, costs more to feed your family and pets, medical care costs more, clothing and personal care items cost more, can you say Baby Formula, inflation sky high and there is no end, border problems, safety concerns, policing concerns, drugs pouring over the borders, possible blackouts, utilities up and up, energy independence destroyed, supply chain is still a mess, China/Ukraine/Russia, and on and on. So the FJB Clown Car Administration works better for families? Still waiting for a FJB voter to come on and explain to me why we shouldn't storm the Bastille? Is this what you voted for? Is this what you wanted? Trump and others warned you this crap would happen. When food will be in short supply this fall/winter and what is on the shelf will be to expensive to purchase I hope you enjoy the government bread and cheese bernie will happily be passing out. FJB has sent American on a disastrous path.

My budget went out the window. Everyone now has to plan new budgets and they will have to sit at home more often. Things like a vacation or a boat ride or a trip to a ball game have to be thought over.. It isn't just fuel it is everything. It is all tied to the fuel price, but everything is more expensive. Try building a home today at todays cost of lumber. 2 1/2 more years of this.

Others need to stand up and take a bow, starting with those who passed and signed $10 TRILLION in COVID stimulus, paycheck protection, medical subsidies, and on and on. And that wasn't the end, then these knuckleheads go off to authorize $1.4 TRILLION more. Paid for with sham money. The Kings and their court keeping the tide from rolling in...and here it is...oh look, $5/gallon for regular gas...it's Putin's fault!!!!

Using less fossil fuels is a good idea and I can support the notion but not at this time in our history. We are in no position to achieve this goal at this time. It is another unsubstantiated nonfact-based typical feel-good led by emotions, poor liberal decision. As usual, such a liberal policy becomes laughable and is not ready for prime time. We do not have enough lithium on the planet for the current battery technology used in electric cars to supply the replacement of all the cars on the planet with e-cars, the batteries have a 3-year programmed obsolescence costing thousands to replace. Lithium battery recycling from what I have heard is not the answer either - I could be wrong on this point. The nation's predominant fossil fuel-based power grid from what I have read will likely not be able to keep up with the demand for air conditioning this summer let alone keep up with car charging added to the drain. Throw more battery-powered items like e-bikes, computers, e-scooters, tablets, phones, etc., into the mix, and the drain increases. Are e-cars really saving on carbon emissions when we have to burn fossil fuels to charge them? Until the battery charging time, the distance able to be traveled between charges, the cost, and the basic battery technology changes, the liberal goal will remain as it is now, laughable. The power grid also may need to be overhauled for many reasons. Until fusion is a viable option to meet the liberal goal of less carbon emissions, the only option as I see it is nuclear power and no way will the liberals allow such a transition. This is why I cannot vote as most liberals do. They are guided by emotions, and or theory, and rarely do they make decisions based on objectivity, facts, or common sense. About the president's propaganda on the 'great transition', it is enough to impeach him for it demonstrates how clueless he really is, but again, the replacement is worse! We are stuck I fear for now! Do the liberals really think that we are buying the pretty package of 'transition' as a front for covering up for a demented president that is making poor laughable policies and decisions?

#8, you're lucky you got Bacon for that Price. Oscar Meyer at Publix was $10 a pound. I've been buying when they have a Sale and freezing it. I refuse to pay that. Same for Bread. I love the new Artisan Bread (Sara Lee) which is now $4. I buy it when Publix has a Buy one/Get one deal. I love the Bread, it's THICK slices like we had years ago before it was a no no to even eat Bread. So it goes. That's the way I shop now. I go for the Deals! No deal, no buy! Biden certainly is proud of his "transition". I hope in November when Democrats are thrown out of office by the hundreds that the NEW Congress can slow Biden down and make him a VERY Lame Duck President! We won't survive 2 more years of his slash and burn plan!

Cinemas around the country are reportedly fearing an imminent shortage of popcorn and other concession stand staples, including popcorn bags and beverage cups, as the supply chain failures of the Biden administration threaten to upend what theaters were hoping would be a mass return to moviegoing this summer. Movie theater operators expressed nervousness at the recent CinemaCon industry gathering about their ability to stock concession stands for the summer and Christmas seasons, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. “Popcorn supply will be tight,” Norm Krug, chief executive of Preferred Popcorn, a supplier of kernels to theater chains, told the newspaper. “It’s a mess,” a theater owner said.

As the Big Apple rots, dystopian videos stream out of New York City almost daily. They range from disturbing to surreal, and like a bloody car crash, they are almost impossible to look away from. A video of a man being held by one man and as others beat him on a New York subway platform has been making the rounds. But this isn’t merely your average clip of an Asian being attacked in Gotham. In a twist, the man holding the victim from behind told the videographer that his captive had attempted to sexually assault a female passenger on a subway. The videographer then called the police.

As we reported earlier, Michael Sussmann was found not guilty of lying to the FBI, despite the evidence that he was working for the Clinton campaign and that he told FBI General Counsel James Baker that he was not working for any client. That raised questions as to how, given the evidence, you get a not guilty verdict in this case? Now, part of the issue may have been judicial rulings that hindered Special Counsel John Durham’s case to some degree, as I noted. The other part may have been you likely started out with an unfavorable jury, to begin with, in D.C., but then, in this case, you also seemed

Do masks prevent transmission of COVID-19? Yes, reports the New York Times’ David Leonhardt — in the laboratory. In the real world, no data definitively establishes effectiveness of masking, and especially of mask mandates. The difference matters, Leonhardt warns, because upticks in transmission and hospitalization will likely have policymakers reverting back to mask mandates even though there is no data that shows an impact on either: Masks reduce the spread of the Covid virus by preventing virus particles from traveling from one person’s nose or mouth into the air and infecting another person. Laboratory studies have repeatedly demonstrated the effect. Given this, you would think that communities

A Texas law that would bar social media companies from taking action on hate speech and disinformation was temporarily blocked Tuesday in a rare 5-4 Supreme Court ruling. Justices John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett, Sonia Sotomayor and Stephen Breyer ruled in favor of tech industry groups looking to block the law, with Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch and Elena Kagan dissenting. The decision is a win for tech groups pushing back on laws coming from Republican-controlled state legislatures that seek to put barriers on social media companies’ ability to moderate content.

Washington—A federal jury on Tuesday found former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann not guilty of lying to the FBI — finding special counsel John Durham did not prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt. The verdict by a jury in heavily Democratic-leaning DC, came midway through the second day of deliberations following a two-week trial on a single count of making false statements to a federal agent. Durham’s prosecution team unsuccessfully sought to prove that Sussmann deliberately lied to then-FBI general counsel James Baker by claiming not to be acting on behalf of the Clinton campaign and an internet executive when the two met in 2016.

According to Will, Biden’s diplomacy is substantially responsible for nudging Germany to play a larger geopolitical role and persuading Finland to join NATO, thus extending the alliance’s reach to more than 800 miles of Russia’s border. Biden, he writes, has revised the concept of the West, but Will writes that Biden’s achievement will not earn him political dividends because “what Americans usually want in foreign policy is as little as possible.”
