Would Flee, Not ‘Stay and Fight,’
if Russia Invaded US

A majority of Republicans and independents would stay and fight were Russia to invade the United States while a majority of Democrats say they would flee, according to a new Quinnipiac poll. The poll comes amid Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. Overall, 55 percent of respondents “say they would stay and fight, while 38 percent say they would leave the country,” according to Quinnipiac. Seven percent say they don’t know or say it’s not applicable. Sixty-eight percent of Republicans would stay and fight, while 25 percent say they wouldn’t and 6 percent say they don’t know or say it’s not

Comments:

Only 40% of Dems would fight for America. More proof that Dems are staying here just for the free goodies.

Of course the Democrats would not fight for the USA. They would probably man welcome stations and have gift baskets for the Russian invaders so that their preferred form of government, Communism, can be ushered in faster and without the hinderance of pesky elections. Also, we all know Democrats hate guns and are afraid of gun violence (unless it is big cities and minorities are killing each other).

With all of the crime and violence in cities like New York, San Francisco, and LA, the Russian invaders would not stand a chance. The gangs, street criminals, and homeless would take out the Russian invaders trying to take over their turf.

Where do they believe they would run to. If the Russians invaded the US and were successful there wouldn't be anywhere in te world they could run. Would I stay and fight? hell yes. Every man woman and child should fight. The way things are going when Biden gets though there won't be much left to fight for, but that isn't settled yet either.

Once upon a time, there was a common threat agreed upon by the US populus...World Communism. From at least 1945 to 1990 Democrats and Republicans agreed to fight its spread, while building a military to repulse any attack, from land forces to missiles and nukes. It would "contain" communism in places like Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and along the "Iron Curtain" that divided Europe. Proxy wars were fought in various places to that end, including Central America. The threat of world communism began to diminish with Vietnam when the US government lied to the public, both Democrat and Republican administrations. A "credibility gap" formed, as it has for COVIDS today, except the divide split differently. And when the end came in Vietnam it was every bit the debacle Kabul was. What's at the heart of our troubles now is the foreign policy that has no aim, so it emulates the Cold War, Russia bad, China not as bad and "friendly", NATO protects Europe. With that perspective the US cannot deal effectively with contemporary international affairs. It is tied to a feckless, emasculated NATO and a costly, perpetual defense of Europe. Same in Korea and Japan. We fought to restore monarchs in Kuwait and surrendered to religious fanatics in Afghanistan, while destroying despotic regimes in Iraq and Libya that contained the craziness until we "rescued" the people in each. "The Leader of the Free World" monicker is a self-serving tool. Like some kid procliming himself World Champ in the backyard anymore. It gives us license that we misuse and abuse under the guise of duty. And the boobs cheer on. Ukraine is becoming a mirror clearly reflecting all this. Do we dare look at the reflection honestly?

That’s typical. Screw the joint up and the people who are “ruled” over, and when it gets out of control, run. My question. Are they taking any “infrastructure “ payoffs with them. Where are they getting the money to flee. Only consolation is if they are fleeing in their electric vehicle, they won’t get far. Maybe 300 miles!

Can’t we start rumor that Russian forces have invaded from Canada and Mexico?. “Russian tanks have stormed across the Rio Grande, pushing thousands of Illegal immigrants aside as they enter Texas. Gov. Abbott forced to flee Austin as rockets hit Capitol Building.” Story would panic tens of thousands of Democrats just in NYC to run to their financial advisers before heading to JFK Int’l for flights out of US. Rumor would greatly improve chances of mostly spineless Repubs winning In November.

There are many reasons people go through "fight or flight" emotions ... not the least of which is moral weakness. Many are truly pacifists by birth or feel they are too sick/weak to resist or would just get in the way. Kinda leave it to the experts, they feel. However, it's too bad there wasn't more color to the question, like: "If healthy and capable ... would you flee or stay and fight for what is yours?" The fact that so high a percentage are willing to bail shows they have no real bond holding us and feel no obligation to stick together through hard times. But they want to happily change the country to their liking instead of accepting it for what it is. Therefore, I have no problem resisting their ill conceived methods --- by any means necessary! And for anyone doubting the forever value of the 2nd Amendment --- even ownership of an AR-15 --- look no further than The Ukraine.

If the Russians invaded the US, it would end up being a nuclear war. We do not have matching borders nor were part of the former USSR, so to invade us, it would be a whole different type of war. A ground war isn't likely. But, for the Dems that think they could run or it wouldn't be so bad under the Communists, has anyone of them noticed that there aren't very many people of color or women in power in Communist Countries? PIERRE, S.D. — The National Park Service has denied South Dakota Gov. California legislators — Democrats and Republicans — are in rare agreement: It’s time for the state to repeal a racist, classist provision in the state Constitution that makes it harder to build affordable housing. Article 34 was adopted in 1950 amid a discriminatory backlash against public housing. It requires that cities get voter approval before they build “low-rent housing” funded with public dollars. And yet, lawmakers have been hesitant to put the Article 34 repeal on the ballot. An attempt was dropped in 2020 and revived this year for the 2022 ballot, but it may be postponed until 2024. The

Saudi Arabia on Saturday executed 81 people convicted of crimes ranging from killings to belonging to militant groups — the largest known mass execution carried out in the kingdom in its modern history. The executions carried out surpassed even the toll of a January 1980 mass execution for the 63 militants convicted of seizing the Grand Mosque in Mecca in 1979, the worst-ever militant attack to target the kingdom and Islam's holiest site. It wasn't clear why the kingdom choose Saturday for the executions, though they came as much of the world's attention remained focused on Russia's war on Ukraine. The

Russia widened its military attacks in Ukraine on Friday, striking in some major western locations for the first time amid ongoing peace talks that have failed to produce any meaningful results. The new Russian airstrikes started just before dawn as Moscow's military rained bombs on some locations, Ukraine's Emergency Service said. Dnipro, in central Ukraine, also faced Russian rockets. "Dnipro is also under attack," Mykhailo Podoliak, an adviser in Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's office, said on Friday, according

President Joe Biden called Vladimir Putin a 'murderous dictator and pure thug' in his St Patrick's Day speech on Thursday that started with the quip: 'I may be Irish but I am not stupid'. Biden ramped up his attacks on the Russian leader, a day after finally calling him a war criminal, in remarks that started with him going through his Irish heritage at the annual Friends of Ireland Luncheon. 'Father before I began, bless me, father I'm about to sin,' Biden cracked, making the sign of the cross as he addressed Rev. Thomas O'Connor while standing between Irish and American flags inside the wood paneled Rayburn Room

World War Two hero Audie Murphy, former Secretary of State Colin Powell and ex-President Dwight Eisenhower are set to have their names used on US military bases whose titles honor Confederate figures. Murphy, a former US Army soldier, became the most-decorated serviceman of World War Two. Powell was the first black person to serve as Secretary of State, between 2001 and 2005, and died last year. Eisenhower was a hero World War Two commander who later served as president between 1953 and 1961.

Just five days after going to jail to begin his 150-day sentence, Jussie Smollett is a free man again. Considering what’s been happening in D.C. to people who, at most, trespassed, the whole Jussie saga has been disgusting and this is one more chapter to irritate or even enrage those who believe in the rule of law. However, much as I hate to say this, the appellate court that released him while his appeal is pending probably made the correct legal decision. (snip) Smollett’s attorneys had argued that he would have completed the jail sentence by the time the appeal process was completed

Give up your car and start walking. That’s an order. The International Energy Agency (IEA) on Friday directed global governments to urgently cut oil supply to domestic consumers and encourage compliance with its call for lowered consumption. The IEA 10-point plan to drive “changes in the behaviour of consumers” and reduce gas demand at the pump includes reducing speed limits, working from home three days a week, more electric cars, car-free Sundays, more cycle lanes, cheaper public transport and greater use of long-distance trains over planes. The IEA also called on the OPEC+ group of oil-producing nations led by Saudi Arabia

Food prices are already skyrocketing. Some — a lot — of this comes from inflation caused by runaway government spending over the past two years. Some is from supply-chain issues. But a new problem is rearing its head, and government officials seem as likely to make it worse as to make it better. That problem is shortages of food and fertilizer brought about by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions enacted by the West in response. Ukraine is a major wheat producer, but war is likely to ensure a poor spring planting and harvest. Russia is also a major grower, but sanctions and war will prevent it from exporting to most

Liberals in Congress are pressing President Joe Biden to invoke emergency powers to push ahead with Democrats' climate change agenda and to put new restrictions on fossil fuels, even while gasoline remains at its highest per-gallon price on record. With legislation stalled in Congress, the nearly 100-member Congressional Progressive Caucus released a slate of policy recommendations Thursday for Biden to pursue, calling on him to use executive action to deal with a list of topics his "Build Back Better" agenda sought to address, including the development of more green energy technologies and placement of restrictions on new fossil fuel production.
