Progressive Democrats in the House of Representatives are reportedly planning to publicly urge President Biden to ban oil drilling on federal lands amid record gas prices and a war in Ukraine that has disrupted oil markets. According to a report from Politico, the Congressional Progressive Caucus is planning to demand that Biden use his executive power to declare climate change an emergency and ban drilling on federal lands. "Progressive Caucus member @JaredHuffman told me calling on Biden to declare a climate emergency is one of the ‘centerpiece’ actions to headline their EO plan," Politico reporter Joshua Siegel tweeted Tuesday. I thought that people change their minds when confronted with reality but apparently Democrats never do. They will kill us all for the sake of climate change hysteria. They will happily sacrifice our economy, prosperity and national security because what? The climate hasn’t even perceptibly changed in the past 25 years of this nonsense.

Everyone, hear me out on this. While the climate alarmists are dead wrong on just about everything (did you know that the sea level measurements in lower Manhattan have risen at a perfectly constant rate since about 1850? This is NOAA information)... I digress - they are dead wrong on everything BUT, as is often the case, liberals cannot see past their noses and they myopia is just stunning in it's magnitude. The UP side that liberals do not see, but which a good CAPITALIST SHOULD see is that halting production in the U.S. and shifting the burden to the rest of the world means... when the rest of the world runs out of easily obtainable fossil fuels - America will be in the cat bird's seat and in a position of economic strength like no other nation has ever enjoyed. Do not know when that might be, but failing to drill today really means there is more for tomorrow. But I seriously doubt the commie bed-wetters realize they are setting the stage for the greatest display of capitalism the world will have ever seen.

Is this some ingenious plan by the Demon-Rats?!?!?!? Apparently, they want to lose by massive margins in November, and give the Republicans a veto-proof majority in Congress. Then they will count on the Republicans messing it up, and making people actually want to vote for the Demon-Rats again in 2024. You come up with a better explanation. Why else would they want to stop drilling when gas prices are so freakin' high?!?!?!? Sadly, I don't have much faith in the Republi-Can'ts (like Graham, Romney, etc) not to make their plan work.

To the extent that the USA and the planet has a "climate problem," (which I doubt) and that any "climate change problem" is caused by the burning of fossil fuels (I doubt that changes the climate, but it does pollute the air), . . . to the extent this could be a "problem," the problem arises from the BURNING of fossil fuels, not the drilling for the oil and gas that produces these fuels. Therefore, importing oil and gas from far away, to burn here in the USA, cannot reduce climate change or make the air cleaner. Shipping that oil from far away burns even more fuel to drag those tanker ships across the ocean. It's like shipping firewood from Siberia to burn in fireplaces and campfires in the USA--that's not going to reduce worldwide or countrywide smoke pollution and CO2. What these morons want us to do is to buy $50,000 electric cars, subsidized by the government. This won't work, because the access and production of nickel, lead, and other metals, especially rare earth metals, cannot be ramped up to produce those batteries in that quantity. And it's difficult and costly to dump worn-out batteries or to recycle them. I don't know where these progressive nitwits get the idea that this will work.

Democrats have not thought this out to its final conclusion. It’s not just gas and oil we are talking about, it’s everything made with it. Just tell AOC she won’t be able to buy lipstick, maybe then she will realize the importance of this very plentiful substance that makes many of the products we use daily. Still waiting for them to explain how oil imported from Russia, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, and Iran has no effect on the climate and is permissible, while oil from domestic sources, Canada, and Mexico has to be stopped. Also, a mystery on why they think that an increase in domestic production [supply] of a commodity would not decrease prices, like it does with every other commodity. Biden will beg Iran [a hostile state sponsor of terrorism] to increase production, but not Exxon or Chevron. If the US had still a net exporter of energy, like during the Trump administration, there would have been no need to import Russian oil.

During the COVID-19 mess, the Left got away with decreeing and enforcing several "emergency" measures that had no plausible danger-mitigating effect on their supposed "emergency". Precedent and pattern established... now they will feel free to perform authoritarian abuses in the future under the auspices of whatever "emergency" they brew up, confident they can repel objections with fake data and have their lapdog press support them. But that's just a wee bit off, when their media friends are a driving force behind the "great reset" dream of Socialist Globalism. Here they reprise their chicken little act with hysterical cries of "emergency", without definitive proof that things are even the way they claim, nor any proof that their "emergency" measures can even affect the global climate.

The left are urging a green energy revolution. The right are sounding a battle cry of “Drill, baby, drill”. And American voters, tired of political excuses, are feeling angry. Rising gas prices pose a fresh election year headache for Joe Biden. Republicans accuse him of pushing “a radical anti-US energy agenda”. Democrats put the blame on greedy oil companies and the assault on Ukraine by the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin. While some argue that crisis offers opportunity, consumers are feeling the pinch in the latest knotty problem for a US president who, after 14 months in office, seemingly cannot catch

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California's urban water users and farmers who rely on supplies from state reservoirs will get less than planned this year as fears of a third consecutive dry year become reality, state officials announced Friday. Water agencies that serve 27 million people and 750,000 acres (303,514 hectares) of farmland, will get just 5% of what they've requested this year from state supplies beyond what's needed for critical activities such as drinking and bathing. That's down from the 15% allocation state officials had announced in January, after a wet December fueled hopes of a lessening drought. But a wet winter

California legislators — Democrats and Republicans — are in rare agreement: It’s time for the state to repeal a racist, classist provision in the state Constitution that makes it harder to build affordable housing. Article 34 was adopted in 1950 amid a discriminatory backlash against public housing. It requires that cities get voter approval before they build “low-rent housing” funded with public dollars. And yet, lawmakers have been hesitant to put the Article 34 repeal on the ballot. An attempt was dropped in 2020 and revived this year for the 2022 ballot, but it may be postponed until 2024. The
