Here’s the Deal with Mike Pence

Original Article

On February 9, 2022, Andrew W. Coy asked, “What’s the Deal with Mike Pence?” One thing is that former Vice President Pence was always a weak leader. While he was governor, Indiana passed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 2015, which essentially clarified a federal law that Democrats overwhelmingly sponsored and President Clinton signed into law. Then-senator Barack Obama supported a similar state law in Illinois. Indiana’s version simply stated that, in civil cases, courts could consider religious burdens that the conflict caused. The law never said religion would trump any other right.

I'm glad somebody remembers this. I'm a Hoosier and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act was an icy cold wake up for who Mike Pence really is. That action on Pence's part made it crystal clear that he is a hard-left appeaser if not a willing collaborator. When Pence rolled out his version of the Religious Freedom Act, it was his bold raising of his flag identifying himself with the darkest, most evil parts of our society.

Pence is a RINO loser, an appeaser, a collaborator with totalitarian socialism. He has made his choices and as a result should be purged.

I'm not sure we have had our real day of reckoning regarding religious freedom in this country. We were founded by Christians who codified a subset of Christian values in a rather secular manner into our constitution opening the door to all who willing to follow the same rules based on those values without necessarily adhering to the religion from whence they came. We have allowed the freedom to join in our nation without a religious affiliation consistent with that limited set of values to mean carte blanch religious freedom regardless of whether or not that religion is consistent with our founding values and the covenant to follow the same set of laws that were derived from those values. Now the Pence's of the country are too cowardly to act in a manner consistent with out founding on the basis of allowing religious freedom which is pure rubbish.

Pence is a Churchian who seeks the approval of deep state while betraying decent people. He is indeed a craven coward, and probably the source of all the leaks in the Trump years too. He is a wicked man and a Judas.

True enough, Pence was and is not the strong leader we may wish he were. But he was the perfect VP choice for a man like Trump, and he served loyally and well for four years. Most of the criticisms of the man I have seen on this board are IMO beyond the pale. Did Pence promise Trump he would challenge the election results and then double cross him on January 6? No. So all the accusations of betrayal, backstabbing, etc. have no real basis. Is it at all clear that Pence had the constitutional authority to do what most here have advocated? I don't know. And would it have made any difference in any case? Those state legislatures were not about to reverse the certified results, however dubious the processes might have been. The election was stolen in the months leading up to November 3. IMO Mike Pencve should not be singled out for so much vehement opprobrium.

See, nothing changed with Pence, he NEVER had the backbone to actually stand up to the leftist assaults. He INSTANTLY folded when criticized on the Religious Freedom Act. He's like a folding umbrella. Looks tight and strong.....until you hit that little button and poof, limp rags hanging and doing no good at all. Pence is a loser, always has been. He's GONE. His career is over.

Did anyone notice that a certain poster here didn't DENY that Pence was the leaker throughout the Trump Presidency?! Just like Biden is a puppet of the Odumbo team, perhaps Pence is Paul Ryan's puppet. Deep State with Dark Money?! In due time, all will be revealed.

Pence is showing that he is an insider RINO political animal and that he believes that by betraying Trump that enough wimpy Republicans will side with him to be the 2024 wimpy Republican Presidential Nominee. That is a tenuous thought, as current polls indicate that a great majority of real Republicans support Trump. By taking such a controversial position regarding the January 6th riot at the US Capitol Building, Pence is actually ensuring that enough real Republicans will not vote for him in the future in both upcoming primary and general elections.

As had been said the aftermath of 9/11: ' The world has changed.' And much of the Left's response? To just keep on living in the pre-02-22-22 world where they'd felt so comfortable. It's like a cocoon for them. For a lot of them, Russia's 14th century-style conquest of Ukraine goes way beyond their processing capacities. We see statements and stunts like these from the left as news comes out about Russia's bloody and violent takeover of another sovereign country. John Kerry was Exhibit A, having made headlines with his obsessive focus on global warming even as apartment blocs were being blown out in Kharkiv, improvised militia men

What do Russian collusion, Hunter Biden's laptop, and Covid-19 vaccine mandates all have in common? They are all misinformation spread by the American propaganda media. The very young often fantasize that they will perform some great accomplishment that benefits humankind when they get older. A field that offers that kind of personal reward is journalism, having over 6,500 individuals employed in the United States. Many enter journalism knowing that the financial rewards may not be as attractive as other vocations, but the impact on society can be significant.

It’s one of the most awkward twenty seconds ever captured on video in a disastrous administration that lurches from one awkward moment to another: when asked “Do you think you may have underestimated Putin?,” Old Joe Biden first continued to stare in the general direction of the question, a slight smirk on his face, expression absolutely unchanged from what it had been before the question was asked. A few seconds later he turned his head to face the camera and, after a few more seconds, grinned sardonically. A few seconds later, he began picking his teeth with his thumbnail, and then grins

Canada is leaving the Western world. In terms of all-encompassing government, suppression of dissent and the denial of fundamental human rights to many of its citizens, Canada is now more similar to Cuba than to any free country. Canada may eventually return to Western civilization, but as of this writing, the majority of Canadians appear to have no interest in it doing so. According to Maru Public Opinion, "two-thirds (66%) of Canadians support Prime Minister Justin Trudeau bringing in the Emergencies Act ... A majority (56%) of Canadians do not support the truckers who are protesting in any way, shape, or form.

A photograph came across my screen today that perfectly encapsulates what’s wrong with modern, traditional education. (I use the word “traditional” as a contrast to Montessori or Waldorf schools.) In it, we see that a child gave a correct answer to an ambiguous question, only to be told his answer was wrong because the teacher was unable to see beyond the confines of her answer book. Things like this turn students into the kind of mindless drones who think as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez does.

The blockades by Canadian truckers that had completely shut down the U.S.-Canada border crossing at Detroit have been cleared by reopening the Ambassador Bridge, and as of Friday, Ottawa police have begun moving against truckers occupying central Ottawa. Despite these actions on the part of the Canadian government, the truckers comprising the “Freedom Convoy” hold their ground in defiance of threats of a police crackdown as they continue to disrupt other trade routes and cities, occupying the country’s capital for a third week. The members of the Freedom Convoy appear unyielding despite days of warnings from police and the government -- risking arrest and having their rigs seized and bank accounts frozen.

Justin Trudeau has ordered the seizure of all assets, the freezing of bank accounts, and the cancelation of credit cards for all persons identified by the government to be either directly or indirectly participating in, or supporting, the truckers who are protesting his vaccine mandate. In short, those Canadians exercising their right to assemble and speak freely in opposition to their government's policies will no longer be allowed to even buy food, pay rent, or otherwise provide for their families. And all this is in addition to their being arrested and forfeiting their trucks to the Crown.

The federal government will shut down Friday night at 11:59:59 if Congress doesn't manage to pass yet another stopgap bill to keep the lights on amid multiple domestic and international crises. In the lower chamber, members are out of town this week after previously passing a temporary measure to fund the government through early March, meaning the ball is now in the Senate's court. Republican Sens. They asked for full travel records and criticized the agency for years of “inappropriate redactions” — especially related to a controversial Kazakhstan trip in 2014.
