If he paid for the use of the truck, can they legally do that? I'd file a law suit so fast their head would spin.

Indy Motor Speedway and IndyCar racing series owner Roger Penske should know better than to irritate motor sport fans.

Be sure to note this in The Penske File...
I would think using their rental trucks to transport illegals and drugs would be reason's to disable the truck, but transporting sign's to a perfectly legal protest supposedly protected by the 1st Amendment?
Does Penske have approve the contents before the truck is rented? If that is not stated in the rental contract how would they justify their actions?

Does not matter if they don't support the protest.
1st Amendment violation. In addition, they violated their contract. Better Lawyer up Penske.

I doubt that Roger himself is still involved in the business #2. He is something like 84 and doesn't strike me as "woke". It's the younger corporate execs that come out of college with their heads packed with left wing sh...stuff that are infesting corporations with virtue signalling nonsense.

#1 #3 #6 #8 Contracts like this have a catch all that says renter agrees to not behave in a way that is detrimental to the renting company. Penske Corp's name is on the truck. It isn't about the contents of the truck. We probably will never know if it were BLM would it be different. I would tend to think it would be treated similarly. It isn't a First Amendment issue. Private companies can control speech around their product.
Penske in his mid 80s is still very active. My guess is that the decision to stop the truck went to him for approval. Likely they have a broad policy of the company
and employees not engaging in any political activity that may alienate a customer. In this case from his view, damage control forced actions that some will view negatively.
Also, one of his son's is CEO of the company that publishes Rolling Stone magazine. He doesn't promote his last name.

Ok, so The Penske Corporation doesn’t support freedom. But taking action to silence an American Citizen's 1st Amendment Right to Free Speech is a different thing. No one implied Penske was making a statement. Does Nike get to disable the shoes of anyone making a speech they disagree with? Can any auto manufacturer legally do this?

I don't think the company wants its assets used to carry bombs to blow up buildings, or carry truckers without trucks to block roads with a rental truck they don't care about. So I understand the company wants its trucks used for moving stuff, not other purposes.

I’d say there are plenty of mechanical and electronics savvy truck drivers in the convoy who will have Jeff back on the road soon.

From my past life, Penske is a force to be reckoned with... 85 or not. He's a hellion in business and it's his way or the highway.
From Wikipedia: Penske endorsed Donald Trump in the 2020 United States presidential election.
Had this driver covered up ALL references to Penske, perhaps they would have had no reason for this remote kill switch to be activated?

I believe that corporate America is going to regret this communist leaning tactic of hitting the average American's ability to express their First Amendment Right's. I suggest that anyone that has reserved a Penske truck or van to cancel the reservation, now.
We can do without Penske, but Penske can't do without us. There are way more of us, then there is of them. If it were me, I'd make sure that any Penske vehicle seen unmanned be rendered inoperable anyway you can. Do they have fire insurance? Does Penske have "Karo Sirup" in the gas tank insurance? Maybe one of us should find out.
I've rented dozens of Penske trucks and vans over the years, but I will never rent or purchase anything from Penske ever again. And I think that NASCAR should pull all advertising of Penske products off of the cars in the race. If you can't have FJB logo on your car because it might upset some panty waist liberal. So should the Penske name be forever linked to the FJB and the cancel culture of the left.
So from here on, let's not call it Penske, but FPT.
