White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Wednesday that President Biden stands by his commitment to nominate a Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court. Mr. Biden is expected to formally announce Supreme Court Justice Stephen G. Breyer’s retirement and will have his first opportunity to install a new justice since taking office.
He pledged during the 2020 campaign that he would nominate the first Black woman to serve in the high court if a seat opened during his tenure. “The president has stated and reiterated his commitment to nominating a Black woman to the Supreme Court, and certainly stands by that for today,” Ms. Psaki told reporters.

The sister of the lovely and ethical Stacey Abrams is among the possibilities; why not.

More style over substance. A box to be checked off, a non existent quota to be filled.Something to make lefties gurgle with delight. This would make three ( 3 ) idiot women on the court. Did I offend someone?

What a brilliant idea! Let’s select all future SCOTUS members based on sex and skin color. BTW, how about an Asian for a change? Oh wait-they might prove to be too competent at knowing the LAW and/or properly interpreting our constitution. FJB

We are going to see more and more system failures due to diversity criteria. Another problem with liberals is everything has to be a consensus decision. Until the group agrees on a decision nothing gets done. This also results in group think which grossly limits solutions. Of course the current administration is focused on doing everything the wrong way intentionally. Their premise seems to be WWTD What Would Trump Do and then do the opposite in the most damaging way possible. It’s hard to believe there are thus many people who wish bad things on the majority of their countrymen. We will eventually reaching a boiling point and the li

Affirmative action bingo. Biden filled out his cabinet that way, probably will try the same tactic on the Supreme Court.
So playing the game, if they appoint a black woman to the Supreme Court, there will be 2 blacks on the Court (one of them competent, Justice Thomas). Double blacks' proportion of the population.
Why not switch to a different affirmative action category? 15% of Americans are left-handed, roughly the same proportion as blacks. How many Justices are left-handed? We must repair this inequity! (/sarc)

Wow Stacey Abrams as a potential Supreme Court justice! The court themselves would probably have a problem with that! However, she somehow was invited to the Bilderberg group a few years back….hmmmm elite club? Maybe not after all.

That's what you said about the VP position. How's that working out for ya? What happened to qualified candidates no matter whom they happen to be? I am sick of this butt kissing to your favorite minority group. Affirmative action does not work out very well when you happen to be unqualified for the job but check other "boxes" that for some reason are more important.

And she will then always be known as the first black female affirmative action post to the Supreme Court.
Not nominated because she was the most qualified person available for the position, but just to fulfill a quota. Senile Joe biden has made that very clear.
I'm sorry, but the military and the Supreme Court are two places you never want to use for social experiments. The consequences of "dumming down" either of those institutions with underqualified people is a massive danger to this republic and all of us people!!!

Here we go with another "first". The new Black female Supreme Court Justice will never be know for having a brilliant legal mind or intellect. Nope, she will always be know as Black Female. That's it. People might not even remember her name. Just that she was a Black female and she will instantly become some sort of cult hero worshipped simply for being "the first" but not necessarily the best.

We are truly screwed by this...pretty dang sad...
There are no explicit requirements in the U.S. Constitution for a person to be nominated to become a Supreme Court justice. No age, education, job experience, or citizenship rules exist. In fact, according to the Constitution, a Supreme Court justice does not need to even have a law degree.

Not the content of the character, but the color of the skin, because this is America. Who's it going to be, Oprah Winfrey, Whoopie Goldberg? Kamela Harris, even though she's not black but rather Caribbean and Asian Indian? Why not really make a statement and go with a black transwoman in the entity previously known as Michael Vaughan?
