LOS ANGELES, California—Governor Gavin Newsom professed shock and outrage as he visited the site of mass looting of cargo trains in L.A. on Thursday, helping clean up debris and touting his recent plan to help law enforcement fight theft. (Photo) “I’m asking myself, what the hell is going on? We look like a third-world country,” Newsom said, before apologizing for using the word “gangs” to describe the attacks on the trains, stressing that he did not mean the word in a “pejorative” way.

On Thursday The Gateway Pundit revealed Democrats and leftists have fought ferociously to prevent the cleanup of State voter registration rolls. Recognizing a potential niche, left-wing activists created ERIC to clean voter rolls their way, using their rules. So in 2012 the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) was formed as a membership organization primarily for blue States. ERIC is essentially a left wing voter registration drive disguised as voter roll clean up. But it’s been gaining traction in Red States too. Originally funded by the Soros Open Society, it is now responsible for cleaning the voter rolls in 31 States, plus D.C.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Friday that the US and Russia are “on a clearer path to understanding each other’s positions” amid tensions over Ukraine — but warned his Kremlin counterpart of a “swift and severe response” if Moscow opts to invade its western neighbor. Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met in Geneva for roughly 90 minutes Friday in the latest attempt at diplomacy, more than a week after diplomatic talks involving the two nations and NATO broke down. During the meeting – which Lavrov called “constructive and usefu l– the US reportedly agreed to provide Russia with a written response to their demands

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Friday that President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin might meet in an effort to resolve the standoff over Ukraine. "If it proves useful and productive for the two presidents to meet, to talk, to engage, to try to carry things forward, I think we're fully prepared to do that," Blinken said in Geneva, Switzerland, after holding talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. There were no breakthroughs, he said, but the two sides have agreed to return to their capitals and hold consultations before meeting again. Later, speaking with ABC's George Stephanopoulos

Republicans are demanding answers from the Food and Drug Administration following a damning report that the vast majority of noninvasive prenatal tests are inaccurate. In a letter first obtained by The Daily Signal propelled by Rep. Chip Roy of Texas, Rep. Michelle Fischbach of Minnesota, and Sen. Steve Daines of Montana, the group of Republican lawmakers are calling on acting Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Janet Woodcock to address the January New York Times report on prenatal testing. “When I first read the troubling New York Times story on noninvasive prenatal testing, I thought of my godson, who was recommended for abortion following a prenatal screening,”

Ask any Democrat or other leftist whether the FBI was corrupt under J. Edgar Hoover and he or she will eagerly agree. (snip) Now, though, it appears that the FBI, with help from the DOJ, is going Hoover one better, and using all the old powers plus modern technology to investigate and arrest people who fail to support the Biden administration. The FBI’s latest target is Texas Representative Henry Cuellar, a Democrat, who spoke out against Biden’s illegal acts erasing America’s southern border. (snip) Unfortunately, in Biden’s America, if you cross the administration, sooner or later it seems as if the FBI comes a’knockin’.

Late last year, I got into a discussion with a fellow who was quite sold on the idea that man’s activities were warming the Earth. While not a hardcore ideologue, it was apparent the gentleman had accepted the climate change narrative presented by mainstream media and believed we truly were imperiling the planet. I didn’t say much to him initially, as we were engaged in some recreation, but later on I resurrected the topic and told him I just wanted to pose one question. “What is the ideal average temperature of the Earth”? I asked. It was clear he was without an answer, so I explained my rationale.

In these times of vitriol, when you either take a stand for what is right or become one of the sheep, invariably you are going to lose “friends.” But maybe they weren’t really friends to start with.Certainly, President Trump doesn’t worry about lost friendships when he challenges Uni-Party idiocy. Nor do the MAGA Republicans that have kept their spine after entering Congress. Patriotic Americans who believe in Judeo-Christian values can’t worry about hurt feelings when pushing back at insane totalitarian groupthink.

Republican Governor Glenn Younkin might finally be at the helm of the previously screwed-up, Virginia ship of state, but at least one public high school is openly defying one of the new governor’s executive orders by “asking” high school students to play a sick game called “privilege bingo.” Shocked? Me, neither. As reported by The Federalist, Oakton High School, which is part of Fairfax County Public Schools, pretty much demanded that students participate in the “game,” which singles out kids based on characteristics of their race and family life — “privileges,” as it were — in defiance of Youngkin’s order banning “inherently divisive concepts” from Virginia’s public education curriculums.

Democrats accused Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of racism for remarks he made about black Americans voting at just as high a percentage as 'Americans' after their voting rights package failed to make it through the Senate. The Kentucky Republican was asked by a reporter what his message is to voters of color who are 'concerned' that they won't be able to vote in the midterm election. 'Well, the concern is misplaced because you if you look at the statistics, African-American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans,' McConnell said in response.
