exas abortion providers and advocates were dealt another setback on Thursday when the Supreme Court rejected their request for a federal judge to accelerate the legal challenge to the Lone Star State’s six-week abortion ban. Though no majority opinion was issued, the six conservative and moderate justices voted in lockstep with each other while the three liberal justices (Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan) dissented.

If you watch a few episodes of Maury Povich (I know! I know! Low class Tv) you may find that young people, especially blacks, go through a dating ritual where the young man begs the young woman to get pregnant, (for reasons not entirely clear to me.) And then when their short term relationship crashes, he doesn't want a baby with her, undergoes DNA testing. And some of the young men have fathered more than two dozen babies with two dozen women. That explains why birth control is ignored, and Plan B doesn't solve the accidental pregnancy problem, since the pregnancy was intentional. Until our society gets a handle on this, we will make no progress on abortion.

Why is it that so many women who are abortion activists are the sort of women (Sotomayor and Kagan) who will never ever need one?

Forgot to add… Question for you, Sonia. If women have a right to control their own bodies, how can you vote to force them to get a series of experimental injections if they happen to work in health care?

This year the Supreme Court is going to issue its opinion in the case styled Dobbs v. Jackson, and therein will probability decide the constitutionality of standard stated in the Mississippi abortion statute that bars most abortions after 15 weeks. I believe that in the interim, the Supreme Court is not going to issue any rulings regarding the Texas Heartbeat Act (which states that except for medical emergencies, a physician may not knowingly perform or induce an abortion on a pregnant woman if the physician detected a fetal heartbeat for the unborn child) because the justices anticipate (at least for now) that its final decision in Dobbs v, Jackson is going to affect the fetal heartbeat standard stated in Texas' Heartbeat Act.

FTA: “This case is a disaster for the rule of law and a grave disservice to women in Texas, who have a right to control their own bodies,” Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote. Questions for Sotomayor: 1. Does control "control their own bodies” include a right to commit suicide without interference? Does it include a right to consensual euthanasia? Does it include a right to refuse COVID vaccinations? 2. Is a fetus part of a woman's body, given that it has DNA distinct from that of the woman? How does a fetus differ biologically from a tumor in the woman's body? 3. What role does a father have in determining the fate of an unborn fetus? Does he have any rights? 4. What specific provision of the Constitution conveys to women "a right to control their own bodies?” These are serious, difficult legal questions that have been completely ignored in Sotomeyor's pronouncement. Rather her pronouncement assumes her claims to be valid and not subject to challenge. Where does she get such authority?

In many ways, service is in my blood. My father and my uncles all joined the military, and when I graduated from high school, I knew that I wanted to follow in their footsteps and fight for my country. Just like them, I knew that this is the greatest nation on the planet, and I wanted to do my part to keep it that way. I have never been angry that I left limbs on the battlefield in order to defend our freedom and our way of life.

Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema voted as they said they would for months, joining a unanimous Republican caucus in opposition and denying their party the necessary support for the change to take effect.

Phelps, appearing with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour last week, spoke to the issue as one of doping, saying he doesn’t believe he’s competed in a fair field in his whole career.

And just like last month’s election hearing, they dropped some serious bombshells. The CDC has officially moved the goalposts on what it means to be vaccinated from COVID-19. We all knew this day was coming, even as an onslaught of “fact-checkers” assured us it was “misinformation” to assert such a change was coming publicly. But first, let’s talk about the details. CDC Dir. Rochelle Walensky appeared on CBS News and shared the news that the two-dose regiment will no longer suffice to be considered “fully vaccinated.” Instead, you will need a booster jab in order to be classified as “up to date.” That comes as part of a “pivot” in language by the government, one that many were maligned for predicting.
