The global warming question that can change
people’s minds

Original Article

Late last year, I got into a discussion with a fellow who was quite sold on the idea that man’s activities were warming the Earth. While not a hardcore ideologue, it was apparent the gentleman had accepted the climate change narrative presented by mainstream media and believed we truly were imperiling the planet. I didn’t say much to him initially, as we were engaged in some recreation, but later on I resurrected the topic and told him I just wanted to pose one question. “What is the ideal average temperature of the Earth”? I asked. It was clear he was without an answer, so I explained my rationale.

I've got my grand kids asking similar question of their "teachers'' with mixed answers proving the meme of man made warming is not solid fact and could be beneficial if it were.

Sometimes it's too easy to flummox a leftist. That question has been posed on this board for years, with the addendum, "....and when did it occur?"

The ideal temperature of the earth is whatever they say it is at the time. For example, if this was 1974 Leonard Nimoy would telling you the earth should be warmer because global cooling is going to flood the coasts. If it's 2020 (with a brief pause for the China Flu) Al Gore and Bill Gates will say the earth should cool down or else the coasts will flood. Normal people get up and go to work and laugh at these nut jobs.

It is a great read. But I have two other questions for the alarmists - why is it that not one of your dire predictions of the last 50 years has actually come to pass? And given that fact, why should I listen to a word you say?

For those who want to use the issue as a political weapon the answer is obvious. Whatever will get rid of Trump. But we know this.

FTA: "Apocalyptic warmist dogma is buttressed by the virtually unchallenged assumption that if man changes something “natural,” it is by definition bad. But this is prejudice." In centuries past, humans believed they were the epitome of creation and the center of the universe. With the coming of the Humanist period, people started to understand humans were part and parcel of the universe, not it's pinnacle. In our modern age, that has been short-circuited and humans are now back to the center - the epitome and cause of all that is wrong with the universe.

NASA defines a “habitable zone” for planet orbits where life could exist. By their definition Earth is near the outer limits of our habitable zone. Don’t know what ideal is, but warmer is an option, colder really isn’t.

I just common sense. Most people would prefer to live in warmer climates. Its why people head south for the winter. Some people prefer cooler or cold weather, but even these people like it when it gets warm again. Nobody with any sense wants to live sub zero temps all the time which is exactly what we would have in a glacial period. Besides, where would we or the animals we would rely for food get food to survive? Seems the environmental nut jobs never think that far ahead.

Two women show how completely insane COVID

One of the points I’ve been making over the years of political writing is that leftism has driven young white women crazy. (snip) A recent video, however, indicates that it’s not just young women whom leftism has driven insane. The video seems to show two older women, upon finding an unmasked young Black man on an elevator, wildly attacking him as they try desperately to get him and his unmasked self off the elevator. (snip) One of the women then hit him and, when he called her on it, she began chanting “Black lives matter,” while her companion continued to insist that he leave the elevator.

After nearly two years of America pursuing politically motivated policies to “eradicate” an unstoppable respiratory virus, an increasing number of liberal politicians, commentors and publications have begun to speak out about the failures and human cost of lockdowns and the vaccine/mask mandates. They, along with many on the right, are applauding those who now claim that government Covid policy was a “catastrophic moral crime.” Who are these charlatans that are embarking on a campaign to exonerate themselves from their complicity in a “catastrophic moral crime”? Many of them were at the forefront of spreading ideologically motivated lies

It’s becoming ever more apparent that the government health intelligentsia’s efforts to protect Americans from COVID have been a complete failure. That’s why you’ve heard nothing about its success. (snip) There are two ways to look at this argument to end masking, lockdowns, and vaccine requirements. The first is that because all of these infringements upon our liberty failed miserably and are not only entirely ineffective but harmful, we can and should go back to something close to what life looked like before.

The vaccines are proving to be a constantly moving target. (snip) What if it turns out that they’re not even a therapeutic? What if you get more sick, not less sick, from the vaccination? Data out of Scotland suggests that this is a real possibility: Scottish data shows that the COVID-19 age-standardized case rate is highest among the two-dose vaccinated and lowest among unvaccinated! It further shows this trend of negative efficacy for the double-vaccinated persisting for hospitalizations and deaths. Something is very wrong here, and together with other data points, it raises concerning questions about the negative effect of waning antibodies, constant boosting, and the consequences of a leaky vaccine

Last week Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, walked into the British Parliament and made the most consequential statement by a political leader since the fall of the Berlin Wall. This is what Johnson said in part, to the cheers of the assembled parliamentarians: “Next week mandatory [vaccine] certification will end… We will end the compulsory use of Covid status certification in England… From now, the government is no longer asking people to work from home and people should now speak to their employers about arrangements for returning to the office

If you’ve been wondering about the extent of voter fraud in America, we may be seeing a staggering amount of either fraud or grotesque negligence in Wisconsin voter rolls. A review of the state’s voter roles showed that 569,277 voters registered on January 1, 1918. Of that number, 20% of these people, all of whom must be at least 124 years old, voted last November. Biden “won” in Wisconsin by 20,682 votes.... For regular American Thinker readers, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Roughly two weeks ago, Jay Valentine wrote about the extent of fraud he and his team have discovered

Hearing the Department of Justice describe them, one would think that the Oath Keepers are the scariest bunch of anti-American knuckleheads to come down the pike since the Ku Klux Klan. (snip) The Oath Keepers was founded in 2009 by Stewart Rhodes. It is a national, but loosely knit organization, created to resist violations of civil liberties by the government. In 2009, that sounded like conspiracy nut thinking. But since the organization’s founding, we’ve been treated to Crossfire Hurricane, two impeachment show trials, COVID shutdowns, election 2020, and our own government targeting parents as domestic terrorists. What sounded crazy in 2009 sounds prescient in 2022.

What’s been even more disheartening than the Democrats’ destructive combination of viciousness and ineptitude has been that Republican congresspeople are supine. Most of them crumble when anyone says “racist” or “January 6.” (snip) You must understand that, by November, it’s too late to get politically involved. If we’re to have a Congress that will stand up to Biden, investigate corruption, and reverse creeping socialism, we must have conservatives on the ballot, rather than whatever RINOs the GOP selects. The battle ends in November but it begins with the primaries.

If there was any doubt that Joe Biden is unfit for the office of President of the United States, yesterday’s marathon press conference put such qualms to rest. (snip) It did not put anyone’s fear about Biden’s competency at rest. Faux reporters like Yamiche Alcindor and Jennifer Rubin swore Biden performed brilliantly but every rational person watching knew it was a “slow-motion train wreck.” The sad aspect of it all was that one could tell Biden thought he was dazzling his audience. He was, as usual, quick to anger when asked a question that intimated that he was less than the best President ever.
