New Jersey—Considered an engineering marvel of its time, the Transcontinental Railroad was a game changer, connecting the east and west in the back end of the 1800s. The contribution of roughly 20,000 Chinese immigrants proved to be vital in the railway’s completion, but as New Jersey 12-year-old Bryan Zhao discovered, it was widely ignored in his social studies classes growing up. “It just felt very weird being excluded like we weren’t part of US history and that was completely wrong,” Zhao told PIX11 News.(Snip)Learning about the contributions of Asian Americans will now be part of the curriculum statewide after Governor Phil Murphy signed legislation this week

Comments:

They'll learn how the evil White man exploited the oppressed Chinamen to build railroads, and also how that mean Republican FDR (who only pretended to be a Democrat) rounded up Japanese Americans and placed them in containment camps during WWII. All well and good, but how will this stop the bLACK kids from beating up the Asian kids?

These people really are a one trick pony. By the late 60's we school kids were being inundated with how wonderful and intelligent black people were. It was jammed down our throats at every opportunity and it didnt take long before we were suffering from extreme negro fatigue. They did more harm than good. Now they want to do it with Asians. Will all TV shows have an obligatory Asian character? Commercials too? Will they move some into every neighborhood? I always thought Asians were able to get by on their own merits.

Chinese railroad gang workers' story itself is fascinating. Perhaps relevant for California high school history lessons. But the story has little to no relevance to New Jersey history. And a mere footnote of US history , suitable for advanced studies.

I'm pretty sure that the exploitation of Asian workers during the development of the railways is the reason Asians have failed to ever achieve anything in America. Or not.

More Chinese were turned into slaves back then than that other race that was picking cotton. You don't hear them crying about it today. In fact, they are spanking American children from the time they turn two years old in just about every category of achievement. They produce their own reparations.

The CDC has officially moved the goalposts on what it means to be vaccinated from COVID-19. We all knew this day was coming, even as an onslaught of “fact-checkers” assured us it was “misinformation” to assert such a change was coming publicly. But first, let’s talk about the details. CDC Dir. Rochelle Walensky appeared on CBS News and shared the news that the two-dose regiment will no longer suffice to be considered “fully vaccinated.” Instead, you will need a booster jab in order to be classified as “up to date.” That comes as part of a “pivot” in language by the government, one that many were maligned for predicting.
