I bring you some happy news tonight. According to sources breaking out of Comcast, MSNBC’s Joy-less Reid is going to get the ax. Her show is going to go bye-bye because they finally just had enough with her. Now, obviously, I’ll caveat it with this isn’t an official word yet, but John Nicosia of News Cycle Media is the one reporting it and he generally has great sources when it comes to things like this. “Joy Reid will lose her 7p show in the next round of reshuffling at MSNBC,” Nicosia tweeted quoting a source. “She does not have a show come mid Spring.”

FiveThirtyEight, a left-leaning site put out a request for information. On Christmas day, it asked women to send in their abortion stories (and yes, it spoke of women, not birthing people) and provided a form by which they could do so. We don’t know what responses they got from the form, but the responses on Twitter are amazing. An overwhelming number came from women who did not have an abortion or regretted having one, or from children who are grateful they weren’t aborted. I’ll share some with you.

A Texas doctor said his practice has seen a nearly 15% increase in vasectomies as men try to push back against the state’s abortion law, The Washington Post (WaPo) reported Sunday.
Koushik Shaw, a doctor who practices at the Austin Urology Institute, told WaPo his practice saw a roughly 15% increase in scheduled vasectomies following the state’s Sept. 1 abortion ban.
Shaw told the outlet patients are coming in, saying “‘Hey, I’m actually here because some of these changes that [Gov. Greg] Abbott and our legislature have passed that are really impacting our decision-making in terms of family planning,’ so that was a new one for me as a reason

Joe Biden, first as a candidate and then in the White House, from the outset saw the COVID-19 pandemic mainly as a means of leveraging political support, from the manner in which the lockdowns allowed him to run a virtual campaign from his basement to equating Donald Trump with the COVID-19 virus.
Like many on the Left, Biden was overt in such cynicism. So were Hillary Clinton, Gavin Newsom, and Jane Fonda—who claimed that COVID was a “never-let-a-crisis-go-to-waste” moment. Panic and lockdowns could help achieve single-payer health care, or a recalibrated capitalism, or the end of Donald Trump himself.

Sarah Weddington, one of the attorneys who argued the landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade in 1973, died at the age of 76, a former student said Sunday. Dominion voting machines in Fulton County, Pennsylvania, will be sent to the state Senate for inspection next month following a ruling by the commonwealth court, according to a press release Thursday by The Amistad Project.
“The court recognized that it was improper to demand that the county – which owns the machines, and has the responsibility of running the election along with the legislature – can’t determine whether the machines worked properly,” Amistad Project Director Phill Kline said. “As the judge noted, there’s no justification for preventing the county from looking at their own machines.”

American writer Joan Didion died at age 87 Thursday from Parkinson’s disease, her publisher confirmed. She died in her New York home.

Bernard Adams, a 56-year-old retired NYPD officer, will oversee governmental affairs, he confirmed Friday. But the full scope of his responsibilities was not immediately clear. The worrisome trend in children too young to be vaccinated underscores the need for older kids and adults to get their shots to help protect those around them, said Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Since mid-December, with the highly contagious omicron variant spreading furiously around the country, the hospitalization rate in these youngest kids has surged to more than 4 in 100,000 children, up from 2.5 per 100,000.
The liberal wing of the Supreme Court embarrassed itself Friday with a slew of false claims about COVID-19 during oral arguments over Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates.
For example, Justice Stephen Breyer claimed hospitals are at capacity because of unvaccinated Americans with COVID. This is false. But perhaps the most ridiculous false claim from a Supreme Court justice came from Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who falsely claimed that 100,000 children are in “serious condition” from COVID.
“We have hospitals that are almost at full capacity with people severely ill on ventilators. We have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in serious condition, and many on ventilators,” Sotomayor claimed.
