Mayor Eric Adams has tapped his younger brother to serve as a deputy NYPD commissioner, The Post has learned. Bernard Adams, a 56-year-old retired NYPD officer, will oversee governmental affairs, he confirmed Friday. But the full scope of his responsibilities was not immediately clear. Internal documents obtained by The Post show Bernard Adams listed as a deputy commissioner on the official NYPD roster. A civilian post, deputy police commissioners typically make around $242,000, although it was not immediately clear what his salary would be in the department.(Snip)News of the appointment of Bernard Adams, who responded to the Sept. 11 terror attacks while working as a cop

After high (obviously warranted) hopes for Adams, he is prepared to take the usual New Yorker place at the public trough and haul his family along. Not an impressive start.

I don’t remember the exact quote but the gist is ‘There’s nothing wrong with a little nepotism as long as you keep it in the family.’ But seriously, this stuff stinks.

$242,000 position in addition to his police pension of at least $100,000. One can only hope that extra income reduces need for kickbacks and bribes. What’s sad is that these mediocrities will do little for New York’s residents while enriching themselves.

And then we wonder why a certain continent that is the richest in natural resources and could put the citizens in all those countries in that continent as the healthiest and wealthiest in the world is so mired in misery and want when it comes down to just plain old corruption and tribalism.

Building his kingdom I see. How is this not considered nepotism and unallowable by NYC HR? Oh, freakin' never mind. Rules are not for them; they are appointed and anointed.

This has happened to many major cities in this country. The citizens elect a black mayor, and it becomes the real-life version of Good Times. We're movin on up, to the East side to a deluxe apartment in the sky. The result is the type of corruption that enriches their friends and relatives, and the city becomes one huge Getto.

So what is not being reported is Bernard Adams already has his eye on a $3.5 million home in a safe community in Florida? On the pension from the taxpayers on the NYC mean streets?

What is outrageous is not just the corruption. But the fact that they don't consider it necessary to hide it anymore - so what?, Exceeded only by the Bidens, the Clintons and the Pelosis. It is OUR job to see that they pay. Otherwise we deserve this.

Someone needs to write a parody on the "Addams Family" theme song: "Da-da-da-da, snap-snap, da-da-da-da, snap-snap. They're crooked and they're homies, wherever they may roam-ie, throughout New York City, the Adams Family! They take taxpayers' money and spread it out like honey, with all that funny money, the Adams Family!"

Adams is just following the same path as the worse mayor in NYC history--Mayor Dinkins.
City government at all levels---police, sanitation, fire dept, highways, transit, etc--became incompetent and corrupt and was run by the "black mafia" of Dinkins' friends,
Hardly a week into his term, Mayor Adams says "Hold my joint" and show that he can beat Dinkins' record for destroying NYC

LMAO. It's the Black "Good Old Boy" system.
In actuality it's not such a bad appointment, as an retired cop he should understand the problems and be willing to try to fix them. Let's see how it works out before we crucify him.

To elect a democrat and expect any thing different is to be a fool. Until the citizens of NYC if there are any left, that is, change their party affiliation and vote some republicans into office they get what they deserve.

Interesting that this article is in the NY Post, as the Post's editorial board hailed Adams as the second coming many times during the campaign. Also, NY Post news articles referred to Adams as mayor even before that pesky little thing called the general election. The Post's columnists Michael Goodwin and Miranda Devine also touted Adams as the second coming.
So how' y'all feeling now? Disgraceful.
