Democrat-controlled Chicago has come up with at least a partial solution, albeit sad and weak, to the epidemic of deadly gun crime that turns almost every weekend into a municipal bloodbath.Officials are installing 400-plus, wall-mounted bleeding control kits in nearly 300 public buildings in the Windy City as well as at medical clinics, senior facilities, and possibly subway stations and parks. The kits are evidently meant to be used as a stopgap measure before EMTs arrive to render treatment to victims.“Each of the kits contain enough supplies to treat eight victims, with tourniquets, gauze, shears, gloves and an instruction manual,” NBC Chicago reported about the initiative.

If those are actually put into the parts of Chicago where all the gang bangers are doing all this shooting, they will all be looted or stolen within minutes of being put up.
Gang bangers are savage animals. If they didn't have guns, they would be killing with clubs. And, sadly, the people around them have no sense of responsibility -- either out of fear or just from never learning what that is after generations on the Demon-Rat welfare plantation.

So instead of policing the killers they will try to save the victims.
Probably is how many of those shot bleed to death.?
I would bet most die from head shots or shots to an organ that is critical to life.
I have been to a lot of shootings and bleeding was usually the least of their problems.

This is terminally stupid. If EMT's can't save these victims, how is somebody who can't read, using the instruction book , going to save anyone,?
This does nothing to address the "pervasive lawlessness". Turn the cops loose,.let them do their jobs, support them, and your crime issues will settle down. Jeesh!

The epidemic of gun crimes comes from criminals, not guns. Chicago lets their criminals run loose and then blames guns for the problem. Chicago is doomed.

Some might argue that leaving stock piles of ammo could speed up a solution to the issue.

All those capitol murder crimes in the Black inner city “communities” where Black criminals murder other Black people, that the Democrats fraudulently refer to as being “gun violence” with not one so-called “White Supremacist” in sight! Capitol murder is a very serious crime under the criminal laws of all the States, but there is nothing in the State criminal laws that makes “gun violence” a crime. In response the Democrats claim that the answer to alleviate those inner city murders is to pass more gun control laws even though they have to know that violent criminals do not obey any laws, and certainly will not obey future gun control laws. So, it is clear that New Democrat gun control laws will not be effective in stopping those inner city murders (gun violence) and instead will be an impediment to law abiding people in places like Arizona, Iowa, Montana and Texas, who live on rural farms and ranches who don’t shoot or murder anyone being able to purchase and possess modern firearms.

Another great idea: just give out free guns to all the gangbangers. Half will kill the other half, saving us from having to pay for trials & incarcerating them for the next 50 years. And extra bonus: after that the murder rate will be cut in half. A win win .

So, Chicagoans and other urban dwellers, welcome to the "new normal", courtesy of your Uncle Joe and his fellow worthless trash Democrats.
Their solution is always to put on a really expensive band-aid (in this case literally), set up a couple of gubermint offices to pay off their buddies, and raise the security wall around their personal homes a little higher.

Most shootings occur during the weekends. Most public buildings are closed during the weekends. What good will the shooting kits do if nobody can get to them because the building is closed?

This gang activity comes with a systemic mindset that is toxic to life. Until you remove the gangs one way or another, no amount of convenient medical supplies will stop the carnage. This is tribalism American style. Get used to it, Biden is ushering in millions more into the country that will join in because many come from countries who embrace the gang life. Whether it is politically correct or not it is a fact that many third world countries know no other way of life. They have fought between their tribes for centuries. The concept of law and order is not the norm for many of these countries. The people know nothing but the survival of the fittest/strongest. We cannot permit this philosophy to take more of a foothold here than it already has. A strong presence of law enforcement will help tamp down the violence, but the root problem comes from the culture and that is not something that people on the outside can do much about. Until the people living the life understand it is literally a dead end, nothing changes. It continues to become generational. Education must be respected. A work ethic must become important. Violence must be rejected. Until a leader steps up and is the face of truth and integrity nothing changes. Denzel Washington could be that man, he has the gravitas. He could be like a Martin Luther King, Jr. He has the respect, reputation and intellect and I believe all Americans would rally around him if he chose to take up the mantle. Change the heart then real change becomes a reality, but first there has to be an end to the violence and that will never come with democrat leadership. Therefore, it appears nothing changes. Just a never ending parade of drugs, violence and death.

I wonder what kind of medical insurance the Bloods and Crips offer. There's probably a substantial co-pay for bullet removal.

Brilliant, put a bullhorn to yell with, "is there a doctor in the house'? Those people are so ignorant they couldn't wipe their butts much less apply a tourniquet or stop a bleeding sucking chest wound. Chicago is a full blown killing field more like the planet of the apes this is a ridiculous waste of money and time. They should have put up ammunition boxes so the shooters could reload Chicago is more like a self cleaning oven.

When "Stop and Frisk" was in place in NYC, it accomplished two goals. First was to seize illegal firearms. Second was to prosecute Gang-Bangers under the penalties for a felon in possession of a firearm. Its success was considered "Racist", the order was rescinded, and the bloodbath resumed.
The solutions are there, but the Left prefers laws to seize firearms from legal owners than prosecute criminals.

Mayor Lightfoot's wrongheadedness is staggering in its cluelessness. Most of the shooters are repeat offenders many times over. There are daily news stories of shooters arrested while out on home monitoring for previous gun offenses, many of which were committed while out on no-bail for yet other gun offenses. She could insist on arresting, prosecuting, and jailing shooters. But no. Her solution? Bleeding control kits for their FUTURE victims. The future victims are just assumed, already baked into the policy. She just assumes that Chicago is now a permanent shooting gallery.
Lori LIghtfoot. What failure looks like.

Hopefully, it's a DIY kit. Shouldn't the kits be closer to ground where you can reach them after being shot?
