Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer set up a critical vote on the bipartisan infrastructure bill Saturday after talks to expedite the process fell apart late Thursday. Both Republicans and Democrats engaged in marathon talks Thursday in a bid to vote on a package of amendments and to advance the sweeping public works package. Doing so, however, required approval from all 100 senators, and Tennessee Republican Sen. Bill Hagerty refused to go along even as his Republican colleagues urged him to do so.

Most Americans have no problem with a true infrastructure bill. It's all the crap that is hidden in the bill that will continue to tear at the fabric of a free and independent American citizen. Money and control for the elite who truly believe they are our betters. We are becoming serfs and they are becoming richer and more drunk with power. I truly fear for America and those who truly love her.

If it was truly only about fixing and upgrading our aging infrastructure most people would support that. It all the little hidden "gems" in the bill that will cause problems. Congress critters luv to sneak stuff in because there is no incentive not to. They count on people not actually reading the bill and pointing out the extra BS in it. And by the time someone actually reads the bill and finds that stuff it's too late. I will bet good money that any Republican that supports this bill will NOT suffer any consequences at the ballot box. People talk a good game about voting them out but come up short when its actually time to support and campaign for another candidate. I saw it when the long serving old phart who is my states Senator had a younger candidate run against him. They got little actual support and the incumbent didn't campaign at all because he knew he get back in. I spent time and effort supporting the other candidate but found out quickly that people were uninterested in learning about someone new and frankly really didn't pay attention to who their Senator was or what they had done or stood for. Apathy describes that very well...

#1 - Omnibus legislation has been the death of our economy. Trillions of dollars of pork has enriched the political classes and their clingers at the expense of devaluing the dollar, and jeopardizing our currency. Every President, including Trump unfortunately, has went along with these Monty Haul giveaways for one reason or another. All taxation is theft, but spending on money you don't have and never intend to pay back is far worse. At some point, your creditors will wise up and stop fronting you money. You can keep printing away, but you will eventually end up as Zimbabwe.

Heard someone say that 23% of this "infrastructure" bill concerns infrastructure. It is as if you continue to max out your credit cards, and the the credit card company keeps increasing the limit - even though you barely pay the minimum. It NEVER gets paid off because they keep increasing the interest rate. They own you because you do not have enough money to pay them back.

The University of Wisconsin removed a controversial boulder from its Madison campus Friday after the Black Student Union and other activists objected to its description nearly 100 years ago with a racial slur. Chamberlin Rock, which rests atop Observatory Hill, is named after a 19th Century geologist and former university president, Thomas Crowder Chamberlin, whose work centered on glacial deposits, according to a bio on the university’s website. But it was a reporter’s reference to the rock in a nearly century-old Wisconsin State Journal article that prompted the push for its removal. In October 1925, the university had the boulder excavated and placed prominently atop the hill to honor Chamberlin,
