White House official and a staff member for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) have both tested positive for COVID-19 after attending the same reception last week, officials confirmed to Axios. Why it matters: While both individuals are vaccinated and mildly symptomatic, they illustrate how Americans inoculated against the coronavirus can still contract and, potentially, unknowingly transmit the virus — even at the highest levels of the nation's government. "We know that there will be breakthrough cases, but as this instance shows, cases in vaccinated individuals are typically mild," a White House official told Axios.

So? Give us a break - some people get it bad, just like they get the flu bad. No need to lock down the whole country again and this is what they're aiming for. How about closing the border to start with if you so worried about it?

The vax does not prevent anyone from catching the China flu it only helps to reduce symptoms when you do catch it. But since over 45,000 have died within 3 days of the jab it’s not worth the risk since the odds of you dying from the flu are .003%+/-. Take your chances.

Most cases are typically mild - vaccinated or not. I watched Fox News and CNN side-by-side this morning as I did the hamster treadmill at the gym. Both supplied the same narrative: COVID part D (if there is such a thing!) is spreading like wildfire, and the vaccine will not prevent COVID but will lessen the severity of symptoms. Fraudci was interviewed and stated that 95% of hospitalizations and 99% of deaths were among the unvaccinated undesirables. How does this square with the UK announcement that 60% of COVID hospitalizations are fully vaccinated people? They're moving the goalposts again. Remember the two week lockdown to "flatten the curve"? Two weeks stretched into more than a year. Remember the claim that the vaccine was 90-95% effective in preventing COVID? Now the claim is it will lessen it's severity. Or is the reality that it makes you more vulnerable, just like the lab animal tests demonstrated with mRNA vaccines developed prior to COVID? These people are either inept or diabolical. Which is it?

So if you can contract it and transmit it with or without the wundershot, what good is it? Lessening of symptoms, which sounds more like a dose of Tamiflu, is palliative. It is NOT a vaccine.

Without details of testing method and PCR Ct results (Polymerase Chain Reaction Cycle threshold), the "positive" test is meaningless. Ct levels of 45 have commonly been listed as positive, when anything above a Ct of 30 has widely been considered not to be an active infection. Most of the infection numbers reporting has been nonsense for the entire duration of the pandemic. That's not even mentioning the deaths "with" the Wuhan Coronavirus being reported as being due to it. No one is reporting the numbers correctly.

How many people when getting the jab understood the vaccine didn't prevent Covid, it only mitigated its effects? Not many, I'll wager (probably a far larger percentage of us who haven't been vaxxed understood this). Informed consent flew out the window in the government's zeal to get us vaccinated. Also, if we're still using the 40-cycle PCR test, we'll get huge numbers of false positives (that is, positives with viral loads so low, the virus is not transmissible). People who are of absolutely no danger to their family and neighbors will still have to go through all the motions as though they were. Did vaccinated people understand they would still be subject to quarantines, mask rules, distancing, the whole ball of wax following a positive test? Of course not. They were told it was the only way to get their freedoms back. Government always has a good reason for not disclosing the full facts or even straight out lying to us. Good for them, bad for us.

The lightning advance of the Taliban in retaking the country has led Afghan Americans, former generals and leading statesmen to blame President Joe Biden for a hasty US withdrawal. But he appears to have the public on his side - for now. Hadia Essazada wept as she recounted the horror the Taliban visited on her household, first beating her father, and then killing her brother. The first time "they were beating my father with an iron rod because they were looking for my elder brother", who had fought to resist their rule in the 1990s, she told BBC Persian. They fled their house in the northern city of Mazar-I-Sharif,

The collapse of the Afghan government and takeover of the country by the Taliban is stirring concern in foreign capitals that chaos and instability engulfing the country could spill over to its neighbors and possibly drive a tide of refugees as far as Europe. There was also an undercurrent of criticism of the U.S. for the speed of its departure after nearly 20 years, colored by Washington’s failure to establish a stable government that could stand without American military support.

In 1949, the trailblazing anti-racist musical “South Pacific”––created by composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II––debuted on Broadway to wild critical acclaim, running for over five years in nearly 2,000 performances. A particularly powerful and influential song from the musical, “You’ve Got to Be Carefully Taught,” carried the message that hatred does not arise spontaneously in the human species, but rather is inculcated––taught, sermonized, infused––by parents, teachers, coaches, political figures or other impassioned haters. Here are the still-relevant lyrics:

The U.S. military has conducted defensive precision airstrikes against three facilities near the Iraq-Syria border region Sunday evening. According to Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby, the facilities are used by several Iran-backed militia groups engaged in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks against U.S. personnel and facilities in Iraq, including Kata'ib Hezbollah (KH) and Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada (KSS). "As demonstrated by this evening's strikes, President Biden has been clear that he will act to protect U.S. personnel. Given the ongoing series of attacks by Iran-backed groups targeting U.S. interests in Iraq, the President directed further military action to disrupt and deter such attacks," Kirby added.

The atmosphere is changing fast for President Biden. Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-W.Va.) opposition to weakening the filibuster has thrown the president’s legislative agenda into flux. The COVID-19 vaccination push has hit serious resistance, meaning Biden could fail to meet a key benchmark for the first time. And the economic picture is mixed, with some weaker-than-expected employment data and new fears about inflation, even as jobs return and businesses reopen. It all marks an abrupt change from Biden’s first months in office, when he pushed through a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package,

What will it take for Joe Biden to admit he is disastrously wrong about Afghanistan? The US leader struck a defiant pose last week. Sounding like a slightly desperate Olympics coach, he told Afghans it was their country. If they want it, they have to fight for it. In American politics-speak, this is called tough love. Without the love. Biden has more hands-on foreign policy experience than any president since George HW Bush. That doesn’t mean he knows what he’s doing. Opinion polls suggest his abrupt Afghan withdrawal has majority public support. That doesn’t mean Americans will remain indifferent as the carnage and misery mount.
