Joe Manchin is sparking outright fury from liberals — with some Black Democrats invoking Jim Crow laws and Mitch McConnell as they blast the West Virginian's resistance to a sweeping elections bill. Manchin’s fellow Senate Democrats are being far more conciliatory. After all, the 50-vote Senate majority needs Manchin's vote to do just about anything. So not even its most progressive members seem to want to poke the bear.

The bodies of hundreds of people who died when the coronavirus surged in New York City during the spring are reportedly still in storage in freezer trucks on Brooklyn’s waterfront.
The Wall Street Journal reported about 650 bodies are being stored in the trucks at a disaster morgue that was set up in April on the 39th St. Pier in Sunset Park. Many of those early COVID-19 victims are from families who can’t be located or afford a burial, the city’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner told the Journal.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald revealed that he was robbed at gunpoint by a group of five men in a terrifying home invasion last month.
Greenwald told the story in an essay that addressed news of another home invasion in Oakland, in which a family was tied up, beaten, threatened with death, and robbed by a group of armed men.
