There seems to be a stubborn sector of our officialdom desperately seeking to prolong our latent fear of that virus from you-know-where and extend government’s Covid controls. The latest is that evil D.V. (Delta Variant).
Well, good news. Perhaps you’ve noticed at the convenience store, in the post office, the break room. That pathetic effort of restoring government controls is failing. Crumbling might be a better word for it. [Snip] I was walking out of a post office one morning back then with a large, newly-received parcel when an elderly woman, her eyes wide with fear, flattened herself against the wall and yelled, “It can live on surfaces for 48 hours!”

It's my prediction, for what it's worth......that the flu was practically non-existent over this past winter, will make a fairly large comeback this coming winter.......THAT is when the people in power AND the media, will demand the re-imposition of masking and distance edicts.

The Covid flu and the Jan 6th "insurrection" were both non-events.
Some old people got sick and were left untreated, a crime against humanity. Otherwise we would have had a normal flu season and a minor nonviolent incursion into the Capitol.

So the article indicates that, for large swaths of America, life has returned to almost normal in most ways. Help me out here, please: Does that necessarily mean that Americans will not be fear-mongered back into wearing masks again and social distancing? I am asking for data clarification here, not trying to make any political points or express an opinion.

I hear that the Teachers Unions are pushing for all unvaccinated kids (including elementary kids) and teachers to wear masks to school this fall and that the CDC agrees. Wonder how much influence that cost them.

The Covid over-reaction was never about public health!!! Never!!!!
It was about a bunch of dictator-wanna-be government bureaucrats using a virus to see how far they could control the peasant masses before the peasant masses would say "enough". And they succeeded far beyond their wildest imagination.
So, no, they are not about to let go of that power. They loved every second of it and they want more!!! So it's time for us, the peasant masses, to say "no more"!!!!!

The therapies work and the fact is the Democrats are going to have to admit they lied about that also. Otherwise they will have to advocate for lockups forever. Other countries actually do know already that the therapies work. Either they crank down on us as dictators or they admit the therapies work very well though they said otherwise. Lovely choice.

Not so fast. I haven't worn a mask, not even under my nose (or chin) for weeks. The only exception, a building stock full with and owned by the Chinese. Oh, the irony, huh? But I was just told at a downtown building that masks are again required. And I'm seeing far too many resuming wearing them both indoors and out. This is in Houston.

Where I live we’ve been largely back to normal since last August except for the mask idiocy inflicted by our leftist mayor. A couple of months ago our governor who never initiated a statewide mandate, told all of the mayors in SC to end their mask mandates.
The first thing I noticed was that supermarkets immediately quit sanitizing the grocery carts. That whole surface infection thing was a complete fraud. How much time and money were wasted on that boondoggle?
Last week I was in a store which had a sign saying “Plexiglass Partitions for Sale”. Now that the useless partitions have been taken down I guess they need to find a way to recoup their losses.
Does anyone think that they will now put all of that garbage back in place? I don’t think that the vast majority of Americans will stand for that. No way in the world am I putting on a mask again. I already threw them all away.

I will not wear a mask again. If some stores start banning the unmasked again, I will shop elsewhere. When the Mao’s revenge hit this country I could see erring on the side of safety. A lot of nations thought it might truly be a bio weapon with the Chinese seeing if they could kill off the West. Then the left started using it to take down Trump and hyped it to the max. Thousands of jobs lost and our young people lost a year of learning. You will still have some annoying scolds who will accuse you of being Typhoid Mary for not wearing a mask. I’ll just tell them where they can stuff theirs.
