Joe Biden was attempting to show how on the ball he is this week at a briefing on the nation’s wildfire situation. It didn’t work. Biden was meeting with Western governors so he could be seen talking about the annual phenomenon of wildfires and how awful they are and how we must do everything to stop them, even though that just makes future ones worse.
“We know this is becoming a regular cycle,” the president said. [Snip] There is so much so very ignorant about what Joe Biden said. First, wildfire is not becoming a regular cycle. It already is. Has been forever

While House Democrats consider crucial decisions on such weighty issues as which statues of Southerners get removed from the Capitol, word emerged Thursday that the People’s Republic of China has undertaken a massive construction project to dig and fortify more than 100 new silos to house ICBMs. [Snip] These new active Chinese underground projects, first reported by The Washington Post, began right around Joe Biden’s January inauguration

It was an iconic moment, George W. Bush at his authentic best talking to rescue workers and a shocked America from atop a heap of 9/11 rubble. Just three days after those awful sights of collapse and death the president stood there, arm around a firefighter, bullhorn in hand. Someone yelled, “Can’t hear you.” “I hear you!” said the commander-in-chief, “The rest of the world hears you. And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon.” Loud cheers ensued at the site and far beyond. The cheering has long since died, replaced by

Many years ago in grade school, we had a playground bully who liked to push little kids down, me included. I consulted my Dad, who knew everything in those days. He said sometimes the right thing is to walk away. “But at some point, son, you’ll have to stand up to him.” [Snip] Sunday night, word arrived that Biden had ordered new F-15E attacks along the Iraq-Syria border on three militia weapons sites said to be preparing launches against similar U.S.-occupied bases.

We have an intriguing and rather disturbing mystery going on with our current president. Someone behind the scenes – we don’t know who – is telling Joe Biden what to do. He even acknowledges that. [Snip] We are about to celebrate the hallowed 245th birthday of the United States of America and the oldest man ever to sit in the president’s chair is being guided by some unseen, unelected hands.

Here’s a fun read to prepare for our sacred July 4th Independence Day:
How patriotic is the state where you live? Or wish you did? Or grew up in?
The folks over at the personal finance service WalletHub.com devised an imaginative matrix to determine Patriotism by State. [Snip] The findings are timely given our divisive politically-partisan days and also revealing about the demographic characteristics of each political subdivision of our nation. The results both support some popular beliefs and dispel others. Overall, it turns out: Red states are the most patriotic and

Imagine you’re a proud member of America’s military.
Perhaps a naval aviator, returning from a long mission projecting U.S. power over a hostile place, landing a jet fighter on a moving aircraft carrier in a storm–at night. [Snip] They’re all volunteers these days, these men and women who do dangerous work in countless ways. Imagine after all these years of military training in killing and surviving, the oldest Commander-in-Chief in U.S. history comes before you with a stumbling speech to declare in clear, decisive language that the real threat to national security is not what you’ve been diligently preparing for all these years.

Stories are a fundamental need of the human species – the desire to tell them, see them, hear them, read them. Prehistoric scratchings on cave walls tell stories, as does the Bible, later medieval bards and minstrels and Moms and Dads at the dinner table and bedtime. Beginning in the late 1800s, the optical magic of moving pictures brought stories to life [Snip] This pandemic thingie may have forever changed movie theatres and movie-going as well as the preferences of moviegoers themselves. And not just because of the criminal price gouging of popcorn and other concessions.
People have become accustomed to

Globalists get gleeful. Joe Biden’s ascendancy to the United States’ presidency, highlighted by his sometimes shaky appearances in Europe in recent days, has reportedly pushed America’s popularity to new heights around the world. [Snip] Almost eight out of 10 Germans (78 percent), whose ancestors had the wisdom to freely elect Adolph Hitler as chancellor in 1933, today profess confidence in Biden to do “the right thing” in world affairs. One year ago, only 10 percent expressed the same confidence in Donald Trump, who knows the difference between Syria and Libya

Every political party as a human institution has its faults. Throughout history, those faults often end up causing the organization’s ultimate demise. The genetic flaw in America’s Democratic Party is its innate proclivity to hand out free stuff – to anyone and everyone. Unless you’re rich, in which case you’re expected to finance the political largesse of America’s oldest surviving political party. [Snip] Now, Joe Biden is taking this free stuff philosophy and grafting it on to American foreign policy. When the 78-year-old president sits down this week in Switzerland with Russia’s 68-year-old President Vladimir Putin, the Democrat will confront the utter uselessness of his generosity.

Regret is not something Americans generally are comfortable admitting. It implies you were – gasp! – mistaken, wish you’d done something differently. Better then, to just ignore the situation and move on as if nothing happened. That’s where a growing number of Americans seem to be now, over last November’s election and their vote for Joe Biden. Or, more accurately, their vote against Donald Trump. In autumn polling, more than two-thirds of Democrats declared they

Seems appropriate that Memorial Day brings back memories. That’s all that’s left of far too many who made those memories with us but are no longer here to share them and make new ones on these annual days of honor for The Fallen. It’s hard sometimes and quite painful for the living to call up memories of the departed, especially if their departure from this life came when they were all alone, far away from us in a lonely, lethal place. And so, too often on these Memorial Days, we
