Texas Democrats to Walk Out of Legislative
Session to Block GOP Voting Bills

Original Article

In a last ditch effort, Democrats in the Texas state legislature reportedly plan to walk out of a special session to prevent a number of key Republican-sponsored bills from passing. At least 58 Democratic state lawmakers plan to leave Texas and fly to Washington, D.C. to rally support for federal legislation, NBC News first reported. Most of the fleeing state lawmakers will travel on a pair of prearranged private jets, the New York Times confirmed. By exiting the chamber indefinitely, the Democratic lawmakers are denying the Texas GOP quorum, or the minimum number of members that must be in attendance to hold a valid session.

Arrest them before they can flee the jurisdiction. Texas Rangers can be sent to do that very thing. If they manage to flee, arrest them as soon as they re-enter the state. Also cut off their salaries, travel expenses, and every other perk they are getting now, since these little mewling babies refuse to do their jobs.

This has happened before . It’s 1 of the reason the repubs are called the dumb party. W hen in session a change should have been made to handle this. How many times do the republicans have to be out maneuvered before getting wise. This isn’t just Texas it’s at both state and federal levels.

The solution is simple - as soon as the Rats' are in the chamber, the GOP should bar the doors to prevent the Rats' from fleeing, then they should immediately commence with voting on the legislation at hand.

It is already an "Emergency Session" called by the constitutional powers of the Governor, issue some form of Habeas Corpus writ.. send the Rangers to drag them off the planes, Texas state Guard can provide transport back to the statehouse and guard the doors to stop escapee attempts...Give a "Shelter in place Emergency order" covering the building and any violation becomes a Felony, Felons can be removed from office and a special election held to replace them. Dems have done this twice before, fleeing out of state rather than "Doing their Jobs" Apparently their concept of "Turning the State Blue" is the toddler threat of Holding their Breath until they do.

Forfeiting votes isn't the issue. It is holding a quorum for a vote in the first place. If the Dims are still 'here' place them under guard in the Texas Senate/House and hold the votes immediately.

Like always, Demon-Rats never see the long-term consequences of their actions. The governor can keep calling special sessions of the legislature. And he can let the citizens of Texas know that the Demon-Rats are wasting their tax dollars every time they pull a stunt like this. Demon-Rats live and die by poll results. But I agree with other posters. This is a job for the Texas Rangers. And they need to use the full force of their office to drag these useless and evil Demon-Rats back to do their jobs!!!

The key item in the article is the ostensible purpose for which the democrats are fleeing Texas for DC, which is to "rally support for federal legislation." This goes against their responsibilities as stated in the U.S. Constitution by pushing for federal legislation in a matter clearly delegated to the state legislatures. Play the democrat game and declare their actions an insurrection, to hold them in jail without bond for at least 7 months.

When I got my covid vaccine, I had to show ID- too bad these same people can't get a covid shot because they have to show ID. Why aren't we hearing racism on this? It's because they have ID, it's the illegal voters and dead voters who have the majority in the democrat party who don't have ID's. Those are the problem ones.

The issue is the requirement for a quorum to vote. By leaving, there isn't a quorum, and no votes can be taken. Texas has a 150 seat House in their legislature, so they need 2/3 or 100 to be present to vote. There are 83 Republicans, so they need to arrest 17 Dems and hold them in the legislature, against their will, which is apparently legal, while they vote. Shouldn't take more than a few hours. So, hunt down about 20 of them, haul them in, with handcuffs, if need be and get the state's business done.

Although Vice President Kamala Harris refuses to acknowledge it, we indeed have a humanitarian and criminal crisis along our southern border. Since the Biden administration hastily reversed Trump-era policies that had dramatically slowed the pace of illegal immigration, cartels have been working overtime to recoup the human smuggling income they lost during the Trump years. According to US Border Patrol sources, the going rate to be smuggled over the border is $10,000 a person, and there’s no guarantee that the smuggled will arrive healthily or even arrive at all. Such was the case Wednesday morning when a van carrying 30 people (yes, you read that correctly) crashed

During a press briefing Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki brushed off concerns about the constitutionality of the Biden administration’s decision to extend the existing eviction moratorium without congressional approval. President Biden announced Tuesday that the CDC would extend the eviction moratorium in the areas of the country that have been hardest hit by the resurgence of COVID-19. After making announcement, Biden conceded that “the bulk of the constitutional scholars say it’s not likely to pass constitutional muster.” When a reporter suggested that many Americans are concerned about Biden’s willingness to pursue a constitutionally dubious course of action, Psaki pushed back, suggesting that the reporter was citing non-existent critics.

Geneva — The head of the World Health Organization is calling for a moratorium on administering booster shots of COVID-19 vaccines as a way to help ensure that doses are available in countries where few people have received their first shots. There’s a frequently recurring narrative that plays out when a public figure is accused of sexual harassment: a chorus of defenders inevitably emerges to assert that the accused is actually a nice guy, historically respectful of women, and where applicable, has daughters who don’t appear to loathe him. Some of these defenders point out that the accused treated them well and never harassed them personally, as if that detracts from the credibility of the allegations. When two former staffers accused New York’s governor, Andrew Cuomo, of sexual harassment in February, this ritual chorus of defenders was nowhere to be found.
