Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) said he was informed by some members of the U.S. military that they would leave if the armed forces mandated a COVID-19 vaccine, coming after a report claimed Army headquarters told commanders to prepare for mandatory vaccinations in September.
“I’ve been contacted by members of our voluntary military who say they will quit if the COVID vaccine is mandated. I introduced HR 3860 to prohibit any mandatory requirement that a member of the Armed Forces receive a vaccination against COVID-19. It now has 24 sponsors,” Massie wrote on Twitter. He didn’t provide more details.
It’s not clear how the service members could quit or how many

And I’ll quit the United States if Congress does.

When I went through boot camp we had plenty of shots wether we wanted them or not. there was one corpsman on either side with those pneumatic guns shooting stuff intto your arms. When I went overseas had to get a gamma gobulin shot with a needle that seemed to be 6 inches long right in the buttocks. It left a big knot. couldn't sit down for 2 days. We didn't have a choice. So suck it up soldiers! An order is a order.

#2 Major difference is that your(and my) shots had been approved by the FDA. I did the math, I'll take my chances for a second dose of china flu.

Apart from the FAT chance of this bill passing, they will have no choice but to quit. Many serviceman were injured by experimental vaccines forced on them during the Gulf War.

LOL!! Empty threats. One enlists for X number of years and the government owns you through the duration. An enlisted person can not just quit. An officer may resign his/her commission "after" all obligations have been met.
Active duty personnel don't have rights like civilians. One can be court martialed for getting a sunburn.

Well, unless they have changed things since my days in the military: You can't just quit. You can go AWOL, Desert, but there ARE serious repercussions.
That said, in 1975, I finally figured out that all the flu vaccines that I had dutifully taken all the years before made me sick for at least a month after getting them, so I decided 'Never Again'. Then in 1976, the horrible crippling and killing "Swine Flu" vaccine came along, and they forced the entire U.S. Army to line up for it....
Even before it became public knowledge how dangerous that experimental vaccine was, I refused to get it. They threatened to Court Martial me.... I still refused. Fortunately my then current Battallion Commander who had previously been the XO with me in the Ranger Batallion knew that I was the only one who could actually do my job, and discretion being the better part of valor, said that I could skip the injection, as long as I didn't tell the others.
Which is fortunate, for me and for the Battallion, since about 15% of it was down sick for a month, and about half a percent of them so permanently debilitated that they had to be discharged.

#2, I also went to boot camp and was subjected to mandatory vaccines. It's one thing to get a shot with an established history of safety and one that is experimental. We KNOW the COVID vaccines are experimental. We KNOW there are many adverse events that have been life threatening.

Serious repercussions like those suffered by Bowe Bergdahl? Complete with a Rose Garden ceremony for the parents? I’m still shocked that he didn’t get fragged after he returned to his unit.

Is mandatory abortion next?
In 1971 took a full battery of shots before deploying to SE Asia. Then my orders were cancelled. I was then sent to another command where I rceived orders to SE Asia again. Funny, my medical and dental records were lost so I got the full battery again.
All of those inoculations were tried and true and FDA approved. And yes #2 I got the gamma globulin as well when a guy in my unit got hepatitis. Hurt for a few hours but not days.

If we are going to play stupid little "orders is orders" games, lets not forget they have a DUTY to disobey unlawful orders. And you can too quit. Officers can resign their commissions, and enlisted can refuse to obey the order and will likely be discharged. If enough do it, maybe someone will pay attention. Criminal prosecution is very unlikely, though possible.

I enlisted in the US Army infantry in 1966 because I believed in supporting our country, and proud to have done so and survived. Now, with an MS, MD, and specialty degrees, in the present political circumstances, I’d refuse the “jab” also. Times have changed, for the worst.

Unlawful to force anyone to take experimental drugs. Period. No one in the military is required to follow an unlawful order. In fact a military person is required to not
Follow an unlawful order. If the order is found to really. E lawful then thenmember suffers the consequences. If the order is actually found unlawful then
The senior suffers the consequences. There is a process to not comply. Maybe some might benifit By brushing up on how to just that.
