Amazon is planning to automatically enroll owners of its devices into a program which would share a slice of your internet connection with your neighbors. The shift will take effect as of June 8, according to multiple published reports including Ars Technica. Amazon could not be immediately reached for comment.
Amazon Sidewalk is a low-bandwidth shared network the tech giant says will not only allow your devices to work better, but help locate lost items. The network shares "a small portion of your internet bandwidth which is pooled together to provide these services to you and your neighbors," reads a description on Amazon's website.
A student at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin, claims she had been the victim of racist incidents, including arson. Unanimously ruling against a Chinese asylum claimant, the Supreme Court reversed the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals this morning, finding immigration judges do not have to explicitly state that an asylum seeker’s story is not credible when finding against him.
The court’s opinion in the case, Garland v. Dai, court file 19-1155, was written by Justice Neil Gorsuch.
“The Ninth Circuit has long applied a special rule in immigration disputes,” Gorsuch wrote.

A drunken teen in Milwaukee broke into an Airbnb and passed out — only to wake up and find the rental was occupied by three out-of-town sheriff’s deputies.

A Houston-area hospital is being sued by 117 employees over its mandate that all staff must be vaccinated against COVID-19 by June 7 or they will be terminated. The hospital’s employees claim they are being used as “human guinea pigs.”
The civil suit was filed on Friday. It contends that the mandate violates the Nuremberg Code and U.S. statutes that permit Americans to legally refuse “unapproved” medical treatments. The suit also claimes that it violates both Texas labor and employment laws.
Lead plaintiff Jennifer Bridges told KHOU that the hospital “trying to force you to put something into your body that you’re not comfortable with to keep your job is just insane.”
The United States has administered 294,928,850 doses of COVID-19 vaccines in the country as of Sunday morning and distributed 366,316,945 doses, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
