Stockholm Syndrome over Mask Wearing

Original Article

Stockholm Syndrome is a psychological phenomenon where “hostages or abuse victims bond with their captors and abusers.” This bonding can occur over days, weeks, or months of captivity and abuse. Rather than being terrorized by their captors, hostages sympathize with them, developing positive feelings, sharing common goals and causes, and essentially falling in love with their captors. (snip) A modern-day version of the Stockholm Syndrome is playing out after over a year of COVID captivity. Americans have been held hostage by medical czars like Dr Anthony Fauci, totalitarian governors named Cuomo, Newsom, Whitmer, Murphy, and Wolf, and big media, including cable news giants CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News.

Folks who continue to wear a mask that is made of three pieces of Kleenex and two rubber bands, which will will not protect them, are either terminally afraid or terminally stupid ...permanently breathing regurgitated spittle and carbon dioxide is not my idea of protecting myself

While on vacation this week—in a city whose mask mandate just expired—I saw a woman in a long black dress, with a big, Breakfast at Tiffany’s hat and sunglasses, and she was wearing a mask. She looked unearthly and non-human, like an alien visiting here that had to wear sunglasses and a mask to protect her from Earth’s atmosphere. It was very bizarre.

i saw a man wearing a knitted mask ! His wife had made it and all the folks in the crafty store were envious of it .It was knit on very large needles and as holey as a fish net . he wore it proudly .I wonder if he succumbed to the woo-flu later ? I think, in most cases , the masks are an outward sign of inner iq .

While out and about in North and South Carolina this past weekend I noticed more mask wearing than expected. There was an interesting demographic. Masks were primarily worn by white middle aged women and minorities. They continue to distance and were wary of those of us sans masks. It was sad to see such unnecessary fear as they tried to maneuver around the rest of us. This has been a test of willing compliance and there is a segment of the populace that has failed miserably.

Yesterday, at a cookout, a woman in a mask sighed, "I wish we could get back to normal." She was one of two in a group of about 15 wearing masks. I told her it was really easy to do so...take off the mask. I got a glare in return. Some will now wear masks to their graves. I imagine cities will look like Beijing, where half or more wear masks "for pollution".

Did anyone else notice as far back as several years, the Chinese populace, non long term American citizens but recent arrivals from China, were wearing masks? They were used to wearing them in their country and continued after gaining entry to the US. I thought it odd but but figured it's just what they do. After the last year and a half it, appears to have been a harbinger of what was to come. I also have had a bad feeling the CCP were not the only ones involved.

It's more like a religious observance. For example, even a moderate Muslim woman I know won't be seen without a head covering. There is something in human nature of some people at least who like being told they have to perform certain rituals. Oppressive governments know how to exploit this--things like the Nazi salute or swastika armbands, the Mao-collared clothing during the so-called cultural revolution, the "Red" army and the color red generally in the Soviet era.

I went to Home Depot on Saturday and couldn't figure out if they were requiring masks or not. Everybody I saw at first was masked up so I put mine on as I approached the door looking for any posting defining their policy. Then after entering I figured screw it what's the worst that can happen, they ask me to put one on? So off it went. Then I noticed a couple of other people sans face diaper. Finally!

So the man named in the article has worn an N95 mask & cloth mask & goggles for close to 14 months. He still caught the covid. He got vaccinated - even tho 'he likely had immunity from having had the covid earlier. And now he insists that he will continue to wear the masks & goggles. I wonder if he is autistic? Autistic people obsess over stuff like that. As to the knitted mask #3 noted - his mask was as good as anyone else's in 'stopping' the virus.

Dr. Dale Brown raised on interesting question on Twitter about a curious redaction from the emails of Dr. Fauci that were released last week. On March 15, 2020, the mega-rich founder of Facebook sent a fawning email to Fauci, thanking him for his leadership and offering to “share a few ideas of ways we could help you get your message out….” After discussing how FaceBook can become an “information hub” for “authoritative information,” encourage people to practice social distancing, and offering to do a video with Fauci, the email closes with a final offer that is completely redacted.

What if "the narrative" is completely wrong? The question hit me in April as I read an AT post by Thomas Lifson that democrat pollsters "admit 'major errors' as they struggle to survive evidence that polls are now worthless." For me, evidence that "the narrative" isn't accurate came Saturday afternoon in the beautiful sunshine of Northern Michigan off the Lake Michigan coast as thousands of Michigan deplorables braved 90-degree temperatures and assembled to support an audit of Michigan's November election. The event was pure "Trumpicana" as even the inflatable Trump seemed to dance to "YMCA" in the background.

On March 8, 2020, Dr. Fauci famously told Americans via 60 Minutes that there’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. In fact, masks are likely even counterproductive, he said, because people don’t wear them correctly, constantly touch their face when wearing them, and the mask may give a false sense of security to wearers that may lessen other practical precautions to avoid exposure, like washing hands or physical distancing. Months later, he told us that he knew that masks actually would save countless lives, but he was lying to us in March about masks’ effectiveness because wanted to protect the medical mask supply chains
