Here’s a rather disturbing story for you. Some students in the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C. signed a fake petition to “unrecognize” Memorial Day. The reasons they gave were the usual so-called progressive claptrap. No surprise there, right? But is this something America should be worried about?Campus Reform, a conservative news site that focuses on higher education, created a fake petition calling for the removal of Memorial Day as a federal holiday, which was created to honor members of the Armed Forces who died while serving their country. A member of Campus Reform posed as an activist obtaining signatures for the faux petition and asked college-aged students if

Would not be surprised if Democrats make an effort to turn Memorial Day into a George Floyd Remembrance Day over the next several years. If Columbus Day can be turned into Indigenous Peoples Day, why not the change the day that honors those who died defending our country? As the airheads interviewed in the article explained, Memorial Day honors American imperialism, slavery and capitalism, so why not honor George Floyd, someone who died last May 25th from a Fentanyl overdose but whose death managed to undermine the police, our court system and the country. While making his family incredibly rich.
Biden, Harris, Pelosi and their ilk will surely want to use the proposal to embarrass Republicans who try block such a perverse alteration. And to humiliate Americans in general prior to the 2024 elections.

The Social Justice Warrior student in the blue shirt (on the sidewalk of M Street NW
in the heart of the Georgetown area of DC) took Womens' and Gender Studies classes (probably at Georgetown University) and thereby like learned the language of like his spiritual plane and thereby learned that he now believes like "F**k the United States" and like let's abolish the military.

This didn't happen overnight. For over two generation since VietNam American society has deliberately looked away as our children were being systematically indoctrinated and anti American behavior was being made 'chic' rather than anti social. Many years ago a nun who was doing social work among 'wayward' (how quaint the word seems now) teenage girls was asked what in her opinion could be a solution to the problems she was seeing. Her answer - Shoot Madonna.

#4 is exactly right. The Democrats and Left run our education system from K through college. The teachers and professors are anti-American and have been teaching/indoctrinating kids to their "America is bad and the root of all evil in the world" philosophy. After 12 to 16 or more years of this "teaching" it is no wonder the young are just snowflake, radical leftists who know nothing about the country, its history and its greatness.

The article describes but a symptom, not a cause of the USA's rapid decline. Given the state of our country under democrat control, there may be one article out of 100 here on this site that doesn't cause concern for the future, near-term and over the long haul. In fact, it makes one doubt if there will even be a long haul for the U.S. It's no sure thing that the U.S will survive to celebrate its 250th birthday. The Earth and the land, even in the face of climate change, will remain as it always has but what we've known as civilization is hanging from a tiny thread. Like my Depression-era parents did, I've worked hard to provide for and prepare my kids for the future; however, it is all for naught if good Americans allow their country to dive head-long into third world status via race-driven communism. As things stand today, we have collectively abandoned our children's future for some notion of playing nice within a "system" that no longer exists. Once the moral Judeo-Christian underpinning of our set of laws and rules of conduct was rejected, our entire legal/political system that underpinned society for over 200 years of greatness has increasingly become a tool of the Marxist deconstructionists and no body of united Americans stands in the breach. I believe FPDJT stood in the breach but the type and degree of support he needed never materialized.

Yes, they are entitled whelps. At the same time, I'm on gratitude overload. We have Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Mother's Day, Fathers Day, Grandparents Day, Presidents Day, Thanksgiving, and God knows how many other commemorative days we are supposed to be thankful for. Everybody gets a day. Ok, I'm grateful to everyone. Now can we dial it back some?

They came for the Confederate statues first because denigrating and taunting Southerners is fun and politically correct then they came for Washington, Jefferson et al because they were white and helped create this terrible country they are forced to live in. They will undoubtedly come for Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Armed Forces day and anything else honoring our military or our ancestors.
