Last month, the faculty senate at Pennsylvania State University passed a resolution urging the school to erase certain words from its lexicon, due to the supposedly problematic legacy of the “typically male-centered world” out of which the terms grew. The resolution aims at gendered pronouns such as “he/him/his” and “she/her/hers,” but it also demonizes the four iconic terms for a person’s years in college (and, often, high school): “freshman,” “sophomore,” “junior,” and “senior.” “The University, as with most all academic institutions world-wide, has grown out of a typically male-centered world. Joe Biden and other political leaders are doing everything they can to get the vaccine stragglers to do their patriotic, civic duty and get vaccinated against the coronavirus. Ohio has begun a million-dollar lottery to encourage people to take the vaccine. Other states are giving out free beer for getting jabbed or other enticements.
But Joe Biden thinks that strong-arming the American people into getting jabbed will be effective. The president gave a talk about progress against the virus at the White House on Monday, (Snip) Using fear to get people vaccinated won’t work. Those fearful of serious illness or death have almost all been inoculated by now.
Did you hear that Joe Biden’s Department of Justice wanted the Supreme Court to rule that police could search Americans’ homes for firearms — and confiscate them — without a warrant?
In the case of Caniglia vs. Strom, this issue was in play. Had SCOTUS ruled that police could do that, your Second Amendment rights would have been in grave jeopardy.

I’ve always had great respect for our legal system. It’s as good as any of which I’m aware. No, I’m not naive. I’m fully aware that every institution depends on the competence and integrity of those involved and that means sometimes decisions are rendered that are wrong -- muddy thinking and sometimes corrupt judges; self-seeking prosecutors; incompetent counsel; bad and poorly written laws; false testimony by liars -- all contribute now and then to unjust resolutions. But in recent years, my faith has been even more badly shaken by continued and obvious corruption all the way down the line.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN- On Wednesday, May 12th, attorneys for former Minneapolis Police Officer Tou Thao filed a motion asking the court to sanction prosecutors for failing to disclose information about the coercion of a specific witness. [Tweet] According to reports, Bob Paule, one of Thao’s attorneys claimed that the Hennepin County medical examiner, Dr. Andrew Baker, was coerced to include “neck compression” in his findings and that the prosecutors knew of it.
The motion also asked the judge to kick the attorney general off of the case for prosecutorial misconduct. Reportedly, activity had picked up for the impending joint trial this coming August of former Minneapolis Police Officers

Gas shortages eased slightly overnight in some states but worsened in others as Colonial Pipeline works to bring one of the nation’s major fuel conduits back online.
More stations were out of gas in Florida, Maryland, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Mississippi early on May 13 compared to the night of May 12, according to GasBuddy.
