Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) is still seeking “compromise language” for Democrat gun control, the Washington Post reported. On April 20, 2021, Breitbart News pointed to Politico’s claim that Cornyn was talking gun control behind the scenes with Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT).Cornyn was having “quiet conversations” with Murphy for the purposes of “[finding] common ground,” Politico indicated. On May 16, 2021, the Post observed that Cornyn’s talks with Murphy are ongoing, saying, “Some Republicans, including Cornyn, have said they generally favor background checks and have been actively talking with Murphy about compromise language that would not go as far as the House versions but could close some loopholes

Think carefully Mr. Cornyn. With the number of new gun buyers and the utter failure of universal b-g checks, do you want to keep what you've already got or cave to the Democrats and lose it all?

Sen. Cornyn, I insist the first change in any language proposed for a gun control bill must be to make the bill a constitutional amendment, which requires ratification by the states. Any gun control passed as a regular bill is an unconstitutional violation of the 2nd amendment. If you agree to any language that does not do this then you are participating in an unconstitutional infringement of our rights.

You have to realize by now why the wimpy Republican Party has been called the “Stupid” Party for so long. Here we have a Republican US Senator representing Texas talking up gun control with an extreme leftist Democrat Senator representing extremely liberal Connecticut. So you have to figure that Republican Senator from Texas is thinking about retiring.

My Senator. He’s a member of the Senate select intelligence committee. It’s the most powerful of the uni-party. They control trillions ! They are the swamp. That committee knew Trump was innocent of Russian collusion and sat on their fat asses for four long years. I’ve called & emailed Cornyn about election integrity and get a long mambo jumbo response. I’ll be contacted him again about our constitutional 2A rights as well!

There is no such thing as compromise with gun control activists. Their stated goal is to kill off the God-given right identified in the 2nd Amendment; the right to self defense. Any compromise granted is merely a next step in a long line of steps they're willing to take to get to that goal.

You cannot split the difference with evil. Unless you have ulterior motives yourself. But I don't think Congressional Republicans are that smart!

Typical GOPe type. Always eager to craft some "bi-partisan" compromise to further erode what little is left of traditional America. These fools have compromised to the point that now the only thing they address is the wording of whatever totalitarian tripe the left is proposing but never the substance.

How many of the mass killers purchased their guns by going through background checks?

Exhibit A. Senator John Cornyn. He stays in his Senate perch doing the bidding of Bush globalist crowd. There is little to no criticism of him from Republican groups in our state and no talk of replacing him. This tells us a lot about the state of things in my state 2021.

Republican lawmakers seem to think that the citizens that they represent are happy that they keep legislation from going too far to the left--but are comfortable with a slightly sharp left turn.
How about a right turn once in a while, Senator Cornyn?

The gun runners who supply illegal firearms or the underworld are not about to abide by any leftist or liberal Democrat gun control laws no matter the wording that RINO Republicans agree to. There is also no problem for ineligible buyers purchasing firearms from Federal Firearms Dealers who abide by the law and require back ground checks on all buyers, as the underground in those cases can easily use so-called “straw purchasers” who the criminal element knows will be able to pass the background checks.

1.Pass a law requiring the federal govt to enforce the laws that already exist. That is the only so called loophole.
2. Why is it always republicans who are trying to 'compromise' with democrats. You cannot compromise with radical leftists who want to destroy the constitution. I have never seen a dem try to compromise with a republican, they just cram their garbage policies down everyone's throat and tell us embrace the suck, elections have consequences. Talk about out of touch.

This kind of thing is why I spell his name John Scornyn. He has very little respect for the constitution or his constituency. He is not one to vote for. We can only vote against the Dem who is even worse. I am not sure about SCornyn's sexuality, but he sure likes to "bend across the aisle" a lot.

"Compromise"?
How about telling them to go pound sand?
You should NEVER work with the democrats. NEVER help them even when they are telling you it is a "bipartisan cause" because it isn't.
Nothing the democrats want to do is American, or even remotely sane.
