When it comes to GOP failings,
Tucker Carlson names a name

Tucker Carlson opened Friday night’s show with a pointed critique. The rhetorical question was why the Republican leadership is so disconnected from Republican voters. One of the reasons, he said, is Frank Luntz. For decades, Luntz has been giving the GOP leadership its talking points. The problem is that Luntz is not a conservative; he is a corporate servant and his points always align with corporate America – and lately, corporate America has been aligning with the woke left. (snip) He’s the one who tells them that Republican voters love illegal immigration, want amnesty, and think it’s a great idea for the government to take their weapons.

Pretty sad day when you don't who or what to trust. It's getting to the point that we can't believe anything or anybody. I never did believe polls. I figured that the poll results were biased based on who paid for the poll and who would benefit by the results even if a poll was really taken. I yearn for the "good old days" when honesty was a virtue !!

Putting Luntz's allegiances and paymasters aside for a moment...he's always been a huckster and a fraud. His little knob-twiddling device was like a cheap Star Trek prop. Twist right for good words, left for bad. He held the resulting graph paper up like it was the Ten Commandments. 'Compassionate' - oh I like that. 'Hard choices' - oh I don't like that etc. It reduced politics and policy to buzzword bingo. It oversimplified to the point of incoherence. The maddening repetition of catchphrases aka talking points on both sides can be blame in large part on Luntz who encourage pols to issue word salads not actual speeches.

#2, to be honest, I got a "C" in political science in college but not because I was dumb. I got a "C" because I argued with the leftist (communist sympathizer) "professor" who used his position to indoctrinate and manipulate his students. I actually knew a LOT MORE about the subject and about history than he could ever hope to know (thanks to growing up with an extremely intelligent and highly educated mother {God rest her beautiful soul} who always had the news and talk radio on all my childhood and discussed all subjects with me every day. I was so lucky to have her in my life! Anyway, I would be more concerned about the "A" students of Poli-Sci considering how most of these profs on the subject are hardcore lefties.

Read "Tucker Carlson Takes On Frank Luntz" at Conservative Treehouse. Sundance remains "suspicious": "Everything Carlson notes is accurate; the expose’ is absolutely correct; but I cannot stop wondering why now? …And why Tucker Carlson? Carlson was always a member of the approved DeceptiCon establishment. This reversal doesn’t seem real."

Luntz is a symptom of the problem not the root. The root is a leadership that does not know its base or more importantly does not care to know what we think. McCarthy and McConnell are nothing but political animals whose reason for existence is whatever benefits them. McCarthy will say the right things sometimes but does he believe what he is saying or is it done for expediency’s sake? McConnell believes he can just hover above it all because he is too important to get down and dirty on behalf of the people he represents. Both men are and have been opportunists unwilling to take the fight to the destructive democrats. They are neither leaders or fighters but preservationists whose sole purpose is to walk the fine line of loyalty to conservatism without actually being willing to to solidly put their feet down on the side of conservative principles. McCarthy’s protection of Liz Chaney is a perfect example. He should have sidelined her when she trashed President Trump. Instead, she was up at the podium taking a turn at speaking. What message did that send? It certainly was not one of unity. McConnell’s announcement of his support for impeachment of the President after the 2020 election when the democrats were floating that idea was appalling. I was incensed by these two examples not because they were specifically aimed at President Trump but because they created a breach in the party. There is little unity in the Republican Party because they are so busy jockeying for position and air time that they lose sight of their job which is to represent we the people. It’s pretty clear where the people stand on the issues of the day. It doesn’t take an Einstein to point them out. Clearly, these two don’t care to know. They are too busy trying to pretend to be in tune with the base, McCarthy more than McConnell who really doesn’t care what we think or want. The fact that Luntz is still influential in the party to such an extent that he is able to speak at their meeting is a disgrace. This is just another example of the fools in DC playing the same games they always have played and getting the same darn results. Our party is dire need of good solid conservative leadership and if that had been the case when we held the House and Senate, we would not be in the shape we are now. Cowardly and self-serving leadership could not stand that an outsider had the courage to actually work for the good of the American people first. We lost a huge opportunity during that time. Just imagine where we would be if the party had been solidly behind President Trump from day one.

Sometimes I miss Tucker but I will not contribute to Fox ratings for anybody. That "fair and balanced" thing died last year. Luntz has always been a putz and an amateur so if they still listen to his fabricated numbers, they are at the same level. The arrogance of the republican party is what killed them.

#11, it is not just the cowardly and self-serving leadership that is ruining the GOP. I would argue it is the vast majority of GOP politicians, not just the leadership. McCarthy and McConnell could not be in their leadership roles without the votes of the rest of the Republican members. I did not vote them in as leaders, the spineless members of the Republican Congress voted them in. Republicans are not Conservatives friends, period.

The political angle isn't nearly as shocking as Luntz's reverence for Oxycontin. What does surprise is that Luntz has known Biden such a long, long time considering the age difference. Politically, however, there isn't much difference. No wonder Luntz has a replica of the Oval Office in his home. Is that akin that to a ''family altar'' a lot of Christians have in their homes? So it would appear. Another edition of the garden variety guttersnipe than usually gets elected. If you aren't a crook, why are you in politics?

Watched Network and Tomorrow Never Dies last week. Both movies have media power as a central theme. Very apropos to what we see today. One of the scenes in Network has Howard Beale on his show telling the audience that everything they "know" about life has come through the Tube. So true. So scary.

This overweight lump of lard Luntz is indeed a manifestation of today's misguided pubbie party. Agree with other commenters that he alone is not the reason why the party aligns with the corporatists. Party leadership can only blame itself. This is why wholesale housecleaning within the party is so urgently needed. In time, Lumpy Luntz will be replaced.

Luntz merely plays with facts, data, and truth and makes money by twisting the same and forcing an opinion on voters. He sells those opinions to our moral-compass free elected leaders. He's simply helping the GOP be even more feckless and making LOTS of money doing it. He basically obscures voters so that they never see the "it's too late" point before they vote, and also helps voters forget those past "it's too late" occasions which is why Mitch, et al keep being re-elected. Rinse, repeat. Remember how so very many of you loved Barr and Durham and would defend them to the death when so very few of us were warning that the two were "a cook book?" Yeah, that's the kind of stuff Luntz makes you fall for. He's the living and actual Penn and Teller clear cups and balls trick of politics and he knows most people fall for it every. single. time.

All I know is that Luntz blew whatever credibility he had on Election Night 2016 and has never got it back, and any GOP official who is still listening to Luntz deserves a good smack upside their heads. As for Carlson, while I'll give him props for being at the forefront of battling the Rats' march toward socialism and tyranny, but his past isn't clean either. There were times where he flirted with never-Trumpism, so he should be eyed with due caution.

When it comes to GOP failings, more than one name comes to mind. I think the Republican party has just as many tendencies with arrogance. They could not accept that people voted for Donald Trump and have set out to undermine him. People want a person that will truly represent them. People want someone who is sincere. The other night Tim Scott spoke for the Republican party and he had very valid points. I liked his Bible references at the end of his speech. Where I have concern about him is with the subject of racism. In his speech, he commented that black people were pulled over for no reason. So are white people. I can point to several incidents if he cares to listen. If he is going to quote Bible references, he better make certain he is not bearing false witness. I am quite concerned when he starts talking about police officers. Does he know for certain that he was being pulled over because he is black? The certainty comes if the police officer said those exact words or is Tim Scott second guessing a situation that he might be bearing false witness? So concerning the GOP? I think there are a lot of names not just Frank Luntz. I think the Democrat party is way out of touch with people and the GOP isn't too far behind them. After all, Republican voters should have had the support of the party the day after the election and they did nothing for the voters. We are still wondering. . .

While an uncertain public awaits results from the Arizona election audit, the immediate major media outcry, prematurely denouncing it, should be viewed as the audit's hitting a major media nerve. The media's reaction vividly demonstrates their fear of a searching re-examination of the election purity they have so arrogantly and unwaveringly proclaimed. After all, if this election were as well run as touted (with the customary admission to the mere occasional and inevitable, but insignificant, error), then the Biden-centric media should be cheerleading the effort. Shouldn't the audit, to use a favored media word, be anticipated to "debunk" the claims of widespread irregularities?

(snip) He’s the one who tells them that Republican voters love illegal immigration, want amnesty, and think it’s a great idea for the government to take their weapons.

UFOs exist — but the government doesn’t want you to know it, according to the ex-Pentagon official who says he ran the program investigating “unidentified aerial phenomena” or UAP. Recalling the revelatory instant when he recognized that UFOs were bona fide, controversial whistleblower Luis “Lue” Elizondo exclusively told The Post, “It was a holy-s–t moment: ‘Oh, my gosh, it’s real. Well, crap, now we have to do something about it.’ ” However, Elizondo has not been able to get the feds to act on what he describes as a serious national security risk due to a litany of roadblocks — including a cover-up of the existence of UFOs

California is giving 76,000 inmates, including violent and repeat felons, the opportunity to leave prison earlier as the state aims to further trim the population of what once was the nation’s largest state correctional system.More than 63,000 inmates convicted of violent crimes will be eligible for good behavior credits that shorten their sentences by one-third instead of the one-fifth that had been in place since 2017. That includes nearly 20,000 inmates who are serving life sentences with the possibility of parole. The new rules take effect Saturday but it will be months or years before any inmates go free earlier. Corrections officials say the goal is

Sen. Joe Manchin, the moderate Democrat from West Virginia, said in an interview Friday that he opposes legislation to give Washington, D.C., statehood — effectively killing a Democratic-led effort to reshape the American political map. "If Congress wants to make D.C. a state, it should propose a constitutional amendment and let the people of America vote," Manchin told WV MetroNews Talkline, a West Virginia news outlet. Asked directly if he would oppose unilateral action by Congress to make the district a state, Manchin replied, "Yes, I would." Stasha Rhodes, the campaign director for the pro-D.C.-statehood group 51 for 51, said in response

CNN’s “United Shades of America” host W. Kamau Bell wondered aloud during an interview Friday whether blacks should continue to believe that the United States is worthy of them shedding their blood to defend. Speaking to SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah, the two were discussing recent police-involved shootings of black suspects in the wake of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin being found guilty of murdering George Floyd during a trial last month. In his comments, Bell first expressed sympathy for black families who have lost loved ones but then vented about what he appears to believe is a problem mostly unique to black suspects and police.

The Republican party could be destined to lose elections for the foreseeable future if Mitch McConnell has anything to say about it.The Senate Minority Leader continues to resist the reality that the old establishment GOP which he has long represented has been resoundingly rejected by voters who have made it clear that they prefer the America First policies championed by Donald J. Trump. The former POTUS may have been run out of Washington by the likes of McConnell and other RINOs but he remains a powerful and influential force and will largely determine who the 2024 GOP nominee is, whether it is

Based on the reaction he received as he spoke to the GOP convention in Utah, it looks like Mitt Romney has exhausted the reservoir of goodwill he enjoyed thanks to his saving of the 2002 Winter Olympics from financial disaster. I always assumed that the reason he enjoyed electoral victory when he ran for the Senate from the Beehive State, after having been born and raised in Michigan and making his career in Massachusetts, where he amassed a fortune and served as governor. (snip) His NeverTrump status and especially his vote to convict on one count of President Trump’s second impeachment seem to have alienated a lot of Utah Republicans

President Joe Biden is again spending the weekend in Delaware, but just how he spends his days of leisure are shrouded in mystery. The White House has so far released very little information about what he does on Saturdays and Sundays, providing the public with scant details about whom he spends time or speaks to. When he arrived at his Wilmington residence Friday afternoon, it marked his seventh trip home as president as the country returns to some semblance of normal amid the coronavirus pandemic and a day after he cleared his 100th in office. Presidents never experience "a true

More than two thousand Utah Republicans booed Senator Mitt Romney as he arrived to speak at a convention in his home state on Saturday. The vocal backlash came after Romney narrowly avoided censure by the Utah GOP over his votes during the two impeachment trials of President Donald Trump. 'Aren't you embarrassed?' said Romney in response to the catcalling as he walked onto the stage. 'I'm a man who says what he means, and you know I was not a fan of our last president's character issues,' he said. Shouts of 'traitor' or 'communist' could be heard from the crowd.
