SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — When then-President Donald Trump visited Mount Rushmore last year for a fireworks display, Lakota activist Nick Tilsen saw an opportunity to further a goal of returning to Native American tribes control of land they once held. It would land him in jail, facing felony charges after he organized a demonstration to block a road leading to the monument, but it also made Mount Rushmore a focal point for that effort, known as the Land Back Movement. Now Tilsen, who heads a Rapid City, South Dakota-based Indigenous advocacy organization called NDN Collective, has a plan to make dramatic

If we are going to return lands to Indians, lets start with the land under New York City, Boston, and Washington DC.

Will somebody blow up Mount Rushmore like the Taliban blew up those Hindu statues in Afghanistan? Just because some group thinks we should give back Mount Rushmore doesn't mean we should or even take the idea seriously.

If they get rid of our monument, then their unfinished monument to Crazy Horse will stand in their sacred hills, alone. But never to be finished, because the sculptor died.

They are just mad that the stupid Crazy Horse monument has been in the works for decades and only the head is done. The Lakota Sioux have one of the most destitute reservations in America and are like Indian versions of Joe Biden. If something makes sense and creates jobs, like a pipeline, they are against it if the idea came from a republican. Democrats keep them in the bondage of laziness and welfare.

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- Atlantic City says it will redo a Black Lives Matter tribute on a street because the original painting of those words across the entire road confused motorists who didn't know where to drive on it. Instead, the words "Black Lives Matter" will be painted onto the repaved road in a manner that does not obscure lane divider markings, Mayor Marty Small said Thursday. The City Council voted Wednesday night to spend $36,000 to repave the road, which police said had become so confusing to motorists that the city blocked it off at either end with barriers

I know I will upset many readers with this column, but I speak from experience. Women should not be combat soldiers on purpose and should not have combat commands, either. This has suddenly become a pressing matter because Biden just nominated women to those positions. I used the phrase "on purpose" because we can't always predict where fighting will occur. Women in the military must, therefore, be trained and equipped to fight as effectively as possible. However, we must not throw them into harm's way as a matter of course. Yes, I sound sexist and chauvinistic, and some will say I hate women.

We’ve been reporting what a disaster that the Joe Biden press conference was earlier today. It seemed clear that he had a preselected list of folks he was going to call on, not calling on any conservative outlets or media like Fox’s Peter Doocy who clearly would be asking tough questions. It also appeared that he was basically reading the answers to questions at various points, leading one to ask if he knew the questions in advance. Even if he didn’t, he was just basically reading off notes of prewritten answers at many points. He only ultimately only took questions from ten reporters, hardly a freewheeling press conference.
