Former FL Guv Candidate Andrew
Gillum: ‘I Do Identify as Bisexual’

Andrew Gillum, who ran for governor of Florida in 2018, says he is bisexual. “I don’t identify as gay but I do identify as bisexual. And that is something that I’ve never shared publicly before,” the Democrat said on The Tamron Hall Show Monday. It’s the first time that Gillum has addressed his sexuality since March, when he was found with two men in a Miami Beach hotel room by police called to a suspected overdose. He appeared on the show with his wife, R. Jai, who said she believes sexuality exists on “a spectrum” and that all she cares

Comments:

Something he left off his resume when running for governor.

Is this the new, "I was abused as a child" thing? When you know your star is fading you have to come out with some wild revelation to get back in the news. Remember when Oprah had her confession and big cry on TV. Or Kapernick's stunt when he knew that he was going to be benched. What will be the next absurdity that celebrities or politicians have to confess to so they can get attention?

Sir, it wasn't your sexuality that was the issue, part was the astounding poor judgement in those with whom you surround yourself. Another measure was the conduct when LE arrived to sort the mess out. You showed yourself to not be capable of running a State. Frankly, you can have all kinds of vices as a Democrat, but you cannot misjudge people and you MUST have pans for every occasion. In your case, that ship has sailed. Look to your strengths and heart to find a new career. It might not be as lucrative, but with luck it will be fulfilling and helpful to others.

As John reported last week, the Chief of Police in Rochester, New York resigned, along with his entire command staff, in the wake of riots and unrest over the death of Daniel Prude following his arrest in March. The mob taking to the streets had already injured three police officers and engaged in the usual acts of arson so many cities have experienced this year. Chief Le’Ron Singletary was scheduled to depart at the end of the month after a replacement was identified, but that apparently wasn’t good enough for Mayor Lovely Warren. Has the 19th-century German composer Ludwig van Beethoven become a modern symbol of "exclusion and elitism" for rich, white men? In an article published by Vox on Tuesday that quoted New York Philharmonic clarinetist Anthony McGill, writers Nate Sloan and Charlie Harding argued that the work has been propped up by white, wealthy men, whose embrace of the musical composition stood as a symbol of "their superiority and importance." "For others — women, LGBTQ+ people, people of color — Beethoven’s symphony is predominantly a reminder of classical music’s history of exclusion and elitism," Sloan and Harding wrote. Initial ratings are in for the NFL’s Sunday slate of games, and the ratings decline evident from Thursday’s kickoff continued through to the league’s marquee telecast, “Sunday Night Football.” (Further ratings for other games are not yet available.) In a tight matchup that featured one of the NFL’s top draws, “Sunday Night Football” saw sharp declines in initial ratings from 2019, according to initial results reported by Deadline. Sunday night’s Rams-Cowboys game notched a 4.7 in early ratings among the most prized demographic, adults 18-49, with 14.81 million viewers. Nine schoolchildren sat at their desks wrapped in chunky layers of flannel, their feet resting on heated soapstones as the frigid New England air stung their faces. In January 1908, amid a tuberculosis epidemic, these Rhode Island students were part of a unique experiment to combat the infectious disease: America’s first open-air school. More than a century later, educators are touting outdoor classes as a way to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus among America’s schoolchildren.
