Seattle BLM takes over Trader Joe's,
protesting 'lack of access to grocery stores'

(Tweet) Morning March Seattle, which advocates to abolish the police and invest in black communities, organised the gathering at the local grocery store to educate customers on the barriers black residents face such as gentrification. This comes as leftists conflate Trader Joe's and gentrification, according to The Atlantic in a 2019 article on the "conflicts between white Portlanders and long-time black residents" over "widening bicycle lanes" and "the construction of a new Trader Joe’s."

I wonder if this is their plan for election day. Block the polling sites so you can't vote.

Why would a grocery store chain or individual owned grocery store set up in area that will routinely get robbed or burned out? BLM it isn’t access to grocery stores- it is your thuggish behavior.. Exactly what solutions do these criminals propose? They are behaving and sounding like the terrorists in Middle East demanding Israel give land- but never offer how they would run things.

While burning and looting a sport store is inconvient (illegal and wrong but those words are not in their vocabulary) it doesn't really affect that suburban dweller. But interferring with our food supply - now that is a biggie. Evil walks among us.

The Target in the black neighborhood in Portland (?) was looted and burned. The store will not be reopened as it ran at a loss due to theft and non-sale of high margin items. Gee, must be racism why stores aren’t in bad neighborhoods!

This is about on par with the Menendez brothers who murdered their parents and then begged for mercy from the courts because they were orphans. Steal, loot, burn, trash your local supermarket and then complain that you don’t have access to one. You did it to yourselves. Tough shiite.

Apparently, all this will end if we just absolve bLACKS from any criminal prosecution, no matter what the crime. Also, everything needed to live, like food, medicine, liquor, phones, Nikes and big screen TV's must be supplied free of charge. And they can't be expected to work, because that's too 'whitey!' All this will be reparations for the slavery they never experienced.

Eating while shopping is a common practice among certain sub cultures. I have seen large young women in grocery stores, little kids in the cart, wheeling around the store, eating fresh fruit, candy bars, cereal out of the box, drinking milk out of the carton, or soda,, and not paying at the register. If challenged, they cry racism. the profit margin in grocery stores is low - eating while shopping, plus shoplifting, together, kill off the stores. Heal yourselves, black people. enough.

I agree with #9. There are certain blacks that are warped in their thinking. With those they run into a wall and they don't look for a way around (over, under) it the just throw a fit of criminal behavior to get what they think they could never obtain. Knowing themselves the way they do they realize they will never get what they want so why try, and it is always someone else as the reason for their failure, that's their culture. It comes on them early. In school they don't try and so don't achieve. Basically cowards, they are afraid to try because they may fail. It begets their loser culture. They are the enemy that they seek to abolish and so it never ends. And our society won't confront them. One heck of a mess.

Remember Michelle Obama's lectures on 'food deserts'. There's a reason, grocery stores get robbed, shop lifting and operate at a constant loss. When riots start all the fast food chains, Target and sporting goods stores along with others leave never to come back. That creates the desert where blacks have to travel many miles away for essential everyday needs because they looted and burned everything close by. I don't feel sorry for them it's a plight they created for themselves. The circle will never be broken because they are stupid and don't want to fit into society this is a good example.

Now let's see. BLM says they want access to local grocery store. So they take over a local grocery store effectively driving it out of business. Is it any wonder they don't have access to local grocery stores if they force them into bankruptcy? Next they will say that they have a right to loot stores because stores should be giving them stuff for free.

Why haven’t these people been put under siege yet? They want to declare their own zone? Fine, but let the National Gaurd define their borders and then let all who want out to come out but no one else in. Let them burn/trash/destroy everything within their borders but let no utilities in, let no supplies in. Let them be treated as a hostile country until they send a representative to bargain, then nail them for terms of surrender.

Somebody tell BLM the reason there are so few grocery stores in black communities is because the residents rob them and burn them to the ground. They cannot stay in business. Somebody tell BLM that most of the problems faced by the black community are SELF INFLICTED. The problems in the black community are the same problems faced in other communities. The difference is other communities step up to the plate, and take personal responsibility and resolve their problems.

I recall Trader Joe's trying to open a store in a 'disadvantaged' neighborhood a year or two ago. They were met with protests by the residents who did not want to see their neighborhood, in their words, 'gentrified'. So Trader Joe's did not open a store there. So, the leftists have a self-fulfilling situation where Trader Joe's can't win and the leftists always, in their own eyes, win. Open a store there and get accused of the terrible crime of 'gentrification', or stay out of a neighborhood that doesn't want you and be called racist for doing so. The left is truly insane.

The problem of doing retail in some communities is "shrinkage". Shoplifting (looting on a smaller, personal scale) to those in Rio Linda. I live between two communities of different economic status. In one grocery the aisles are open, in the other there are sections (cosmetics and beauty aids) nicely walled off so shoppers have to pass in and out through a counter with overhead cameras. Grocery stores work, at best, on a 3% margin. Shoplifting will drive a grocery out pretty darn fast. Unfortunately some stores have a policy of letting some of their custormers shoplift without being stopped. Others, who are presumed to be "privileged", get stopped.

So I have a TJs 2 minutes from my house. I do love their reasonably priced cheeses and wine, and their frozen gluten free pancakes are the BEST (I have to eat GF, sorry!). Today I went to get some birthday cards and a sympathy card (.99 cents, can’t beat it). I bought 2 cans of pumpkin since my mom told me it’s in short supply. After going to 2 other stores, I went back to TJs for more canned pumpkin. Guy at the door says “pull up your mask to cover your nose”...um, it was covering my nose, jerk weed. And, I had just joked about with him 30 minutes earlier on my first trip there. Had I not needed the extra canned pumpkin for my elderly mom (so she can bake pie this Thanksgiving), I would have told him to naff off. 50 years old and working min. wage grocery job, dude, seriously. I believe the gangs burning and looting are for the most part rich white brats. Look at the news stories. BLM and antifa seem to have a lot of white brats doing their bidding. Most of them are from "out of town," don't live in their choice of city to loot. burn and murder. Someone is paying them for their services. As for blacks, can't lump them as rioters/arsonists thugs. I believe they struggle. Who gave them the victim attitude in the first place? The democrat party.

Here we are in the midst of a once-in-a-half-century pandemic, with the economy flattened, millions of people unemployed, and unrest on the streets of our cities. And President-elect Joe Biden says that one of his highest priorities as president will be to reenter the Paris climate accord. President Trump kept his "put America first" promise and pulled the United States out of this Obama-era treaty. Biden wants us back in. Why? Paris is an unmitigated failure. You don't have to take my word for it. President Trump granted a pardon to Michael Flynn, his former national-security adviser, today. Flynn had pled guilty to lying to FBI agents about conversations, during the 2016 transition, with the Russian ambassador about sanctions. Flynn’s pardon should bring to an end one gross violation of the Constitution’s separation of powers, even as it gives rise to groundless accusations of another. Although Flynn had pled guilty, the circumstances of the case had raised serious concerns about whether the government had proceeded properly. The FBI, for example, questioned Flynn even though it did not appear he had violated any law. In May, Attorney General William Barr ordered the case dropped.

If you had any doubts that Meghan Markle is a manipulative piece of work, her bombshell Oprah interview Sunday night dumping on the British monarchy would set you straight. Prince Harry’s American wife accused his family of hateful racism against her baby, claimed they refused to protect her and drove her to the point of suicide. She made the incendiary and implausible charge that when she was pregnant with Archie, the royal family decreed that her unborn son would be denied the title of “prince” because her mixed race meant he might have dark skin.

Nancy Pelosi’s top priority is to turn America into a one-party nation ruled by Democrats. Her bill HR 1 trashes the U.S. Constitution in an attempt to rig the system and make it virtually impossible to elect a Republican president or Congress again. It’s a power grab. The bill eviscerates state voting laws and forces all the states to conform to a set of rules that includes automatic voter registration. Anyone who goes to a DMV or applies for food stamps, Medicaid or other social services, or attends a public college will be automatically enrolled to vote. Noncitizens are obligated to identify themselves and opt out,

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.

Rep. Steve Cohen vowed to renew the push to remove former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover’s name from the bureau’s downtown Washington headquarters, according to an interview released Monday. Appearing on Yahoo! News’ Skullduggery podcast, the Tennessee Democrat said the effort is getting a fresh look after the release of a new movie highlighting the FBI’s secret program to discredit civil rights activists. The Washington Times in 2019 first reported Democrats’ bid to strip the longtime FBI director’s name from the bureau’s headquarters. Mr. Cohen said the impetus to revive the bid is the new movie, “Judas and the Black Messiah.” The movie details

“There must have been a moment, at the beginning, when we could have said –-no. But somehow we missed it.” Tom Stoppard The millions of Americans who were paying attention throughout the 2020 election campaign all became painfully aware of the fact that Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities were slipping and slipping fast. His wife, as the person closest to him, should have been the one to call the campaign quits in order to reduce stress on the man. Instead, apparently so anxious to become the First Lady by any means necessary, Mrs. Biden continued to push her failing husband’s campaign forward as if he were mentally qualified.
