This article includes clips of young children dressing and dancing sexually.
At a time the left has declared that “silence is violence,” Michelle Obama’s silence on Netflix’s controversial movie “Cuties” has not gone unnoticed. It is also undermining her brand as “America’s mom” and chief defender of female empowerment across the globe.
No one should doubt the considerable power former first lady Michelle Obama wields within Netflix or the unrivaled cultural influence she has to speak out in defense of preserving girlhood and innocence. Sadly, however, Michelle has a troubling history of celebrating, rather than denouncing, the sexualization of popular culture and of elevating artists who contribute to the pernicious cultural trend

Is someone suggesting there might be a whiff of hypocrisy attaching to Michelle?

Ummm - - if Moochie condemned this movie - - would that mean she'd have to give up her seaside estate?
Then NO WAY is she going to condemn it!

OP comment correction. A piece got left on the cutting room floor.
No one loved more than Mooch to dress sexily (it never worked for her) and to dance suggestively.

I remember many pics of the older Obama girl dancing very sexually suggestively and twerking.. pulling her skirt up almost to her waist as she danced w/lips pouted. I think at one point she interned w/Harvey Weinstein.

I'm curious whether there would be as much uproar over this movie if the girls had been, say, 15 rather than eleven. Or 18 rather than eleven. Is the outrage directed at the hypersexual message of the dancing or the fact that some minor girls seem to think this kind of dancing is cool or fun? It seems unrealistic for parents to think that can raise their kids in a bubble that isolates them completely them from the influences of digital media and cultural trends. The more that parents try to do this the more attractive the "forbidden fruit" becomes to kids. Rather than banning these things (including violent video games, porn, drugs, etc) I think we as parents need to be able to teach them to understand these cultural influences and resist them on their own. Laws and censorship are not enough and don't work in the end.

We remember seeing her in more than one version of this, and lauding her pal Beyonce for her bare-bottom twerking in the Super Bowl halftime show a few years ago:

I loved Netflix. I enjoyed the foreign films, especially stories and soaps from South Korea and India.
It was hard but we canceled a few years back when we discovered that the Obamas were involved.
Recently we got a 30 day free trial so thought we would try it.
Every show we watched ended up glorifying some disgusting perversion. example using choking to enhance sex. I tried watching a Korean action movie and it was all blood and gore showing ways to cut up and torture I could never imagine.
I am glad we canceled a fee years back but I wonder how they can keep an audience with what they have to offer. I prefer to watch movies that make me feel good. What kind of fresh hell is this?
Was this a tool they used to desensitize us to the horrors surrounding us.

I quit NetFlix when they took on the Obamas and told them why. But my daughter signed me up recently and I avoid all the garbage on there and there is a lot. But there are some excellent programs. Amazon Prime is really good. This child porn ( it is no matter) is disgraceful. Anyone try to find out who their parents are to permit this behavior?

It appears we have a resident apologist for this film and others of its ilk. There is no credible defense for exploiting the little girls who appeared in this film, just for the sake of teaching other kids to "understand these cultural influences and resist them on their own." Baloney!
Children need parents who will establish boundaries and keep them. Children need to be defended from predatory adults who would use them for pernicious reasons. Children do not need to be "shown" what's bad about porn, any more than they do about murder or abuse.

I saw 30 minutes of Cuties, that was enough and it really hadn't go to the "tawdry parts. If I was paying for Netflix, I'd drop it like a a hot 11 year old. Fortunately, I don't pay for it and will watch my onw choices.

There is the silent implication that these 11 year olds can give consent.
They can't, and that's why we have laws against statutory rape.

Sasquatch was actually never much of a 'mama'. She needed her own mama to get 'the girls' ready and off to school. 24 'assistants were not enough for her to get her own act together, let alone get 'the girls' as well. Growing vegetables on the roof of the WH was enough for her to demonstrate to the planet that she 'took care' of the girls.
Netflix paid the community punk a lot of $$ for something he did for them when in the WH. Netflix lived up to their bargain and paid them off. Perhaps the 'wife' of the community punk is afraid that there are legal clauses if she criticizes them that some of their ill begotten money might vanish. Don't forget, these 2 punks are only interested in $$$$$$$, lots of it and from other people.

They're a pair of creep traitors who make your skin crawl. But we've all maintained as much ever since they appeared on the scene.

All of you knew NetPorn would go downhill with the Obola's involved. Surprised they haven't bought TicTock.
