Donald Trump's decision to assassinate Qassem Soleimani has triggered a major rupture between the United States and its historically closest ally in the United Kingdom. In remarkably outspoken comments, UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said on Sunday that Trump's isolationist foreign policy stance meant the UK was now looking for alternative allies around the world.
"I worry if the United States withdraws from its leadership around the world," he told the Sunday Times.

I had heard there was someone named Johnstone or Johnson in a leadership slot there. No? Okay, never mind.

Bee Esss. Ben Wallace is talking through his hat, and might want to clear this with Boris.
As the UK goes forward with BREXIT and is no longer under EU trade agreements and custom free, they just might want to establish a Trade Agreement with the US....and not get Trump teed off beforehand.
This is Grade A Fake News.

What tripe from a UK ignoramus fool. There is no alternative to the USA. Oops. i forgot they have a large population of Muslims over there. I bet they wish they were more of an isolationist country along with the rest of Europe.

Wallace is a fool. We’ll see how this works out for this increasingly Muslim-occupied Britain.
"We are very dependent on American air cover and American intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets. We need to diversify our assets."
Wallace told the paper that the UK would increasingly need to turn to other allies that more closely share the UK's interests.
"Regardless of what the US does... we are going to have to make decisions that allow us to stand with a range of allies, the Five Eyes [intelligence partnership with America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand] and our European allies where our interests converge," he said.
Wallace also revealed that the Trump administration had threatened to cut off its intelligence sharing partnership with the UK, if Johnson's government pursued its plan to allow the Chinese telecoms company Huawei a role in Britain's 5G network.

So, Trump has simply stated the obvious, that the EU, and UK, need to pay their fair share of the burden of their security, which includes their commitments to NATO, and doing what they should with countries like Iran.
Iran could be an amazing country again.

There's two ways to look at this: Do you side with a President who takes out terrorists who have killed many Americans and continuously shouts 'Death to America,' or do you side with one that, for some reason, gives them pallets of cash. We have both sides in this country.

Mr. Wallace is a fool, so naturally the Business Insider, a leftist organization, would be there to publish his absurdities. Trump is not an isolationist, and has no such policy. As for the UK, they will go along and get along with the U.S. or they will not prosper. Have a nice day, Business Insider and Mr. Wallace. Spend it in reflection on your errors.

So who will be the UK’s new great allies the French, the Russians, and Argentina? You have to figure if that happens there will not be any sort of a U.K./US trade deal. That’s certainly not going to hurt the USA.

I think someone's lying. First of all, PRESIDENT Trump and the US is not withdrawing from our leadership around the world. PDT is taking US from chumps to winners and still leading; we're just leading better, smarter, and with less of our American dollars going to people who hate US or mildly like US. And Wallace and others like him can't stand it. Second, instead of looking for alternative allies, how about Britain leads for a change. They should make sure and go the chump route, since they liked it so much when the US was doing it.

"I worry if the United States withdraws from its leadership around the world," says UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace.
Okay, sir, the choices left you and Her Majesty are slim and none for another ally willing and able. And if Wallace is truly "worried" that would eliminate Russia and China from his potentials list. What are you worried about...the Argies getting frisky in the Falklands again? Good luck with them.

If Wallace is given a new job shortly, you will know that he is all wet as far as the UK military alliance with the US goes. Knowing that the UK. just finished building two big aircraft carriers designed to use the F-35 fighter as their main offensive weapon. If there is no longer a UK/US military alliance, clearly the USA will not be selling F-35s to the UK, just as happened with Turkey. This article looks like fake news or Wallace’s comments were purposefully taken out of context.

Just a few days ago when everyone thought Iran was going to retaliate, the UK had its military on standby to help the U.S, and today we have this bozo. So Britain which is it 'cause talking out of both sides of your mouth ain't going to cut it!

What a disingenuous title. There was a lot of qualifiers in the UK ministers statements. Plus the new government, supported by Trump, has to be able to establish its independence from trumps influence in order to keep its moderates’ support. Garbage liberal propaganda.

To better understand Adam Bienkov's insights, I reviewed articles he has previously written. In short he is Anti-Trump, Anti-Brexit, Anti-Boris Johnson. With that as a track record, I expect the opposite of everything he says is correct; is the truth. This means that the result of Trump's actions with Iran will result in a stronger alliance with the UK.

Wanna bet that Sulimani was killing brits along with our troops? They should be happy to have had us take him out without the Brits taking heat.
Remember when Reagan his Libya? Initially, the Italians disavowed us,. and baddies flocked there. Then the Italians changed their official story and the baddies avoided them. It might be like that.

Just because the President's responses are more finessed than the blood and guts operations that Neocons would like does not mean that we are becoming isolationist. For one thing, it means YOU all need to shoulder a share of the burden instead of sitting back and letting us shed all off the blood while you eat crumpets and lob platitudes from behind a microphone.
