Can 20 U.S. senators withstand the potentially irresistible temptation to reverse the results of the 2016 election and remove a president a number of them openly or privately dislike?
Since Donald Trump announced his intention to run for the White House on June 16, 2015, many of the entrenched elites across the various power centers of Washington and beyond have spent many of their waking hours trying to stop or unseat him.

Not likely. I think they grasp what would happen if they tried to remove this President.
How about a couple of million armed, irate citizens showing up in DC?

It would mean the end of the Republican party to start. Chances are Trump would release all the damning info he has on all the reprobates. With only Dems in power things would come to a head VERY quickly. Probably the worst case scenario for the country (as in violent confrontations) if they did remove him. I'd like to think they cant be THAT DUMB. But, we're talking swamp creatures here

McConnell said Trump will not be removed. This thing is DOA in the Senate.

Impeaching Trump will mark the end of the democrats for a generation. Removing Trump would mark the end of the republicans permanently.

I suspect this author's purpose was to make himself look important.
This came across as a CNN 'News Flash'.

Mitch The Cross-Eyed Little Weasel will certainly do his best to screw Trump. He really wants Romney in and those two will gang up and try to convict and remove.

Anyone who thinks this whole debacle is NOT being orchestrated by Trump is very naive.

McConnell already got what he wants when Trump announced the trade deal with China and, specifically, the rollback of the tariffs. He’ll now do what Trump wants him to do.

Do that, and kiss our representative Democracy goodbye. Who are these people representing? Certainly not people. What happens when they get voted out of office for impeaching Trump? Will they nullify elections? it goes downhill from there. Will they declare Marshall law to stay in power? Will the military support them?
The only people that benefit from this are those that hate America, and the corrupt globalistas that think they can line their pockets at the expense of others.

This is a rather silly article. If the author thinks there is a realistic prospect of 20 Republican Senators voting to convict, he should name them. Heck, he names three senators he says don't like President Trump, but doesn't even say he thinks they will vote to convict. Do people get paid to write this kind of stuff? How about me just saying the House Democrats may be walking into a trap because all the senators, even the Democrats, might decide to vote to acquit?

Well if those Republican Senators went along with the leftist and liberal Democrat Senators and screwed President Trump during the January trial without having a clear impeachable offense because of a committed serious crime, a lot of those Republican Senators would then be returning to their home States to participate in the Republican primary elections within months, where most of the Republican primary voters will be Trump supporters. That would be political suicide for those Republican Senators, who would all be knocked out of office either next year or in their next primary election. That questionable Never-Trumper scenario with the Republicans stabbing Trump in the back is a lot more likely to happen in the year after he is re-elected, following a new leftist and liberal Democrat impeachment inquisition.

I'm in agreement that this needs to be dispensed with with a quick vote to acquittal. There is nothing to be gained in continuing the spectacle to make this'' fair'' to Trump. The other stuff can be investigated and dealt with in further non judicial settings.

Luckily for the RINOs, neither "obstruction of congress" or "abuse of power" are impeachable offenses. They can declare this impeachment an "unconstitutional sham" and avoid a trial altogether. That would be their safest bet to keep their own crimes hidden.

Let us hope that Republicans retake the House decisively, and put an end to future impeachment chicanery.
To that end, I favor using the Senate trial as a full counter-offensive, calling both Bidens, Schift, Ciamarella, and relevant Ukrainians as fact witnesses, under oath, to show where the culpability really lies.

Rubbish. The Hill is just another mouthpiece for the Swamp. As such, it is voicing the hopes, dreams, and fantasies of the Swamp Critters they represent, but they all have a serious disconnect with reality.

With all the relocation talk about DC agencies, could someone figure out a way to move the Hill to East St. Louis?

Heh. Don't they wish. If Trump is impeached, convicted, and removed, since he wouldn't have finished his first term, would that mean we could elect him for 8 more years? He could get impeached again after 3.5 years and we could just go on like this till kingdom come.
