Trump is a conservative in name only

The comedians Bud Abbott and Lou Costello did a routine about baseball that is a cult favorite.
In it, they kept batting back and forth the question, “Who’s on First?” “What” was on second and “I Don’t Know” was on third. “I Don’t Give a Darn” was shortstop.
“Who’s On First” was a humorous and outlandish exchange between the two comics.
As the routine went, so politics goes today. President Trump labels any Republican who questions his erratic and narcissistic style as a RINO (Republican In Name Only).

The only thing that would give this article any credence is the new maternity leave act, giving already spoiled government workers an additional 12 weeks ( 3 months) of paid vacation, courtesy of the American private sector tax-payer! The poor babies already get a holiday a month, generous sick leave and a great retirement. Of course, as a non-business, the government doesn't have to make a profit, they just raise their prices (taxes).

So they think this will peel off American supporters of President Trump?
They're desperate and delusional.

He's right - if one defines'conservative' as ignoring American workers and communities in favor of the wealthy and globalist corporations as has been the stance of Republican pols for years. If that is what is conservative then I am no longer one. I'll take Trump's America First any day.

Gregg’s comments about the debt are false. Obama ran the debt up by almost $9 trillion. Trump hasn’t come near that. I am sick of articles being written and published that contain outright lies. We’re not stupid. The NATO countries have not ‘stood with us’. They have stood behind us and let us foot the bill for their defense. Gregg obviously thinks sucking up to them is preferable to holding them accountable. This is Old World conservatism at its worst. This is not the way forward for the US. That’s why Trump WILL BE re-elected.

Some things never change they said the exact same thing about Reagan but the fact it Reagan and Trump are both about growth. It is what sustains us and will keep us free, our workers working and feeding their families is the best thing that is occurring. These philosophers should move to Greece and maybe take a good gulp of Hemlock while they are at it.

Thank you, Senator, for exposing yourself as just another Establishment stooge contemptuous and disdainful of outsiders who dare to crash your party and do things differently from the way you've always done. Attitudes like this are precisely why Trump was elected.

Unfortunately, no one cares about Social Security or The Deficit. These used to be topics that came up at election time, but no one did anything about either one once the ballots were cast. At this point, you can stand behind Trump or jump on the bandwagon of your favorite Democrat who will tell you what you need and how much additional taxes you will need to pay to support it.

Hahaha, you're a day late and a dollar short, Mr. Greg. Wow, Judd is writing this only about 3 1/2 years late, and trying to use it as a reason Trump should not be considered a "true" conservative. Guess what, Judd; we knew long before you that President Trump is not a conservative ideologue. So fr'ckn what! So he doesn't work for a think tank that survives on donations. Ha, but guess what - his instincts and his world view is more practically conservative than any of you spineless, whiny, establishment elites who call yourselves conservatives.
I agree with the wise William F. Buckley when he stated, and I paraphrase, that he would rather be governed by the first 535 names in the phone book than by those that occupy congress. Trump is living proof of that sentiment. A man who loves his family and has a deep abiding patriotism, and practical knowledge on how the world operates. Trump 2020!

Gregg is, unfortunately, an embarrassment. One of the primary things a Conservative should be is a lover of truth, I don't give a fig for any of the talking points to check off as being Conservative. I want to know what is the right thing to do, the thing that works, and the thing that is really fair to all because it works in everyone's favor.
Gregg's article has little truth in it. The debt is not growing faster than it was under BO. Further, debt has to be measured against GDP to be meaningful and Trump has helped GDP growth. A $2 trillion dollar deficit in a $16 trillion GDP economy isn't as big a concern as in a $8 trillion GDP.
Plus, the money hasn't evaporated. More of it is in the hands of the People who are better off and spend it more wisely than the government does.
Gregg also opines about picking winners and losers but Trump has loosened taxes and regulations on ALL businesses. AND for all people. The lowest minority unemployment in 50 years, Gregg wants a more "thoughtful and caring marketplace" as guided by the "wise" government but a REAL Conservative would not want government's hands on business. It is not business' purpose to be "thoughtful and caring". Business is supposed to produce products and services. Sure, they have to function within reasonable guidelines but Conservatives would encourage the lightest government touch.
Gregg's type of thinking is the reason Republicans lost even when they won elections. It is NeverTrumper talk and is pathetic in the face of Trump's success.

Trump is more conservative than 90% of the Repubs that have lately held office. The other thing we like is that he gets things done. The stock market just hit an all-time high, border security is not perfect yet but at least Trump has improved it despite being blocked by the Dems and their left-wing judges. Unemployment is about as low as it can get, the economy is booming and his detractors are foaming at the mouth. Look for him to start carving on the deficit, debt after 2020.
Are we better off than we were 3 and 1/2 years ago? Oh hell yes.

There are many lefties, looters, and globalists walking around calling themselves Conservatives and Republicans. That doesn't make it so. Quite possibly the most important thing Trump has done is the unmasking of these backstabbing Republicans.

People like Judd Gregg were the reason the Republicans would never get another person elected to the presidency. You Romney, Kasich and the rest of the Rinos are not conservative. We elected a man that loves America and wants the best for our country and for all of us. People like Gregg only want the best for themselves just like all the Democrats.

I never thought Donald Trump was a pure conservative.
But in the most important areas -- abortion, the military, and free markets, he is far more conservative than any president we have had in decades!!!!
Good enough for me!!!!!

It's better than anything we've seen from 'real' REpublicans in the last 3 decades...

....and he's a Democrat? Great! More power to him! He's doing everything that the Conservatives want him to do and more. He could do more if the Democrats and the Rhinos didn't obstruct and interfere with Trump's agenda of MAGA .

Cross posting from Dr*dge because I know none of you look there any more, just to give an example of how deranged former "Republicans" have become. There is not a single syllable of substance in this entire piece, written by a former Republican governor and senator. This guy has gone completely off his rocker. Someone needs to find his TV remote and click it off of CNN.
