Flush with campaign cash and facing down a possible Senate impeachment trial, President Trump headlined his first major rally of the election year Thursday in Ohio -- and almost immediately, the president capitalized on his order to take out Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani after the military leader was said to have orchestrated an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Iraq.In unequivocal terms, Trump slammed House Democrats' nonbinding War Powers Resolution, which passed earlier in the day in a rebuke to the Soleimani strike. Trump went on to suggest that Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and "little pencil-neck" House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., would have

Donald Trump used his first 2020 campaign rally to celebrate killing Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, who he said Thursday was planning to attack multiple targets.
'Soleimani was actively planning new attacks and he was looking very seriously at our embassies, and not just the embassy in Baghdad,' Trump told the crowd in Toledo, Ohio Thursday night.'But we stopped him, and we stopped him quickly and we stopped him cold,' Trump said. The first rally of the year comes less than a week after Soleimani was killed, which led Iran to launch almost two dozen ballistic missiles at bases in Iraq

President Donald Trump defended his decision to eliminate known terrorist and Iran’s Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani without first getting permission from Congress.
“We had to make a decision, we didn’t have time to call up Nancy — who is not operating with a full deck,” Trump said as the crowd cheered.
The president accused the Democrats of standing up to defend Iran instead of supporting Trump’s decision to take out Soleimani.
“We’re having people like Nancy Pelosi, that’s a real genius, can you believe that one?” he asked. “Nervous Nancy.”
He called House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff “little pencil neck.”

Imagine the following scenario: You are asleep late at night in your bedroom when you are awakened by the sound of breaking glass. Soon you hear footsteps down the hall and come to the chilling realization that intruders have entered your home. You hide in a closet and dial 911 on your phone, then in a whisper plead for the police to come to your aid before the burglars happen upon you. Officers are on the way, you are assured, and moments later you listen as the intruders, alarmed by the approaching siren, flee to a waiting car. You go outside to see them bearing

A Justice Department inquiry launched more than two years ago to mollify conservatives clamoring for more investigations of Hillary Clinton has effectively ended with no tangible results, and current and former law enforcement officials said they never expected the effort to produce much of anything. MPs have finally given their formal backing to Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal after more than three years of bitter parliamentary wrangling over the UK’s departure from the European Union. The historic EU Withdrawal Agreement Bill cleared the Commons this afternoon - despite Labour opposition - as MPs gave the draft legislation its third reading by 330 votes to 231, a majority of 99. It is the final major Commons hurdle which the so-called WAB had to navigate and it will now head to the House of Lords next week for further scrutiny before the UK leaves the EU on January 31.

California certainly marches to the beat of a different drummer. They treat the federal government as a rival fiefdom, setting their own environmental laws, their own immigration laws, their own fuel standards -- as if the seat of power in the United States was in Sacramento.
On Friday, Governor Gavin Newsom will present the state's budget for the next fiscal year. In it, he will propose that the state of California sell its own brand of prescription drugs in order to "increase competition in the generic drug marketplace and lower the cost of medications by having Sacramento contract drugmakers to manufacture certain prescriptions under a state label."

Australia is has seem some of the worst bushfires in its history. Greens blame climate change, but it's a cover-up. In reality, they have themselves to blame. From here in Australia, it can only be called green folly.
Green folly locked up 11% of Australia in a tinderbox of bushfire fuel, much of which is now burnt or burning.
Green folly closed forest tracks and gates; expelled foresters and timber-workers; and prevented property-owners from removing flammable fuel from their own land and adjacent roads, parks, and forests. Those responsible for these follies should face Class Action.

The filings, which were submitted Monday to the federal judge in Cleveland who has been overseeing the national opioid lawsuits, asked the judge to rule in the pharmacies' favor and reject claims brought by some Ohio counties.
The counties, including Summit and Cuyahoga, have sued CVS, Rite Aide and Walgreens, claiming they are party to blame for the addictions and overdoses among their citizens because they filled 'excessive' prescriptions.

Washington - The White House on Thursday introduced major changes to the nation’s benchmark environmental protection law, moving to ease approval of major energy and infrastructure projects without detailed environmental review or consideration of climate change. Many of the changes to the law — the 50-year-old National Environmental Policy Act, a landmark measure that touches nearly every significant construction project in the country — had been long sought by the oil and gas industry as well as trade unions, which have argued that the review process is lengthy, cumbersome and used by environmental activists to drag out legal disputes and kill infrastructure projects.

A man was stabbed with what appears to have been a machete Thursday morning in Manhattan, according to police. The victim was stabbed on 30th Street and Fifth Avenue in Midtown just before 9 a.m. by a suspect who then hopped into the passenger seat of a gray Honda and took off, cops said. Police are now hunting for the suspect, who was described as a male in his 30s, possibly with a face tattoo. The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

These are the two dozen new photos revealing Bill Clinton’s 2002 trip to Africa aboard Jeffrey Epstein’s “Lolita Express” — with other celebrities and an Epstein accuser in tow. The slew of images, obtained Thursday by The Post, show a smiling Clinton posing alongside Epstein’s alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell and Chauntae Davies, the masseuse who has accused the dead financier of rape. The humanitarian trip, which Davies says was hosted by Clinton’s foundation, also included actors Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker, who appear in shots with Davies and Maxwell.

Three people were rescued over the weekend after they were found trapped in "a precarious situation" on a new section of border wall near San Diego, according to officials.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection news release said that around midnight Sunday, agents on patrol saw three people perched on top of the wall near Otay Mesa. The three, a man and two women, attempted to enter the U.S. illegally in dense fog by climbing the San Diego Sector’s new 30-foot, steel bollard wall before getting stuck, according to officials.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell delivered some bad news to Speaker Pelosi from the floor of the upper-chamber:

A day after Iranian ballistic missiles hit Iraqi bases used by U.S. forces, the Trump administration’s first briefings on Iran for legislators went so poorly that even its allies walked out saying that the White House was losing congressional support. (Snip) One Senate Democratic source read in on the meeting said Pompeo acted like “Benghazi Mike” in the briefing—a reference to Pompeo’s incendiary performance as a congressman during the 2015 Benghazi hearings—and was often defensive when faced with tough questions about the intelligence that led to the killing of Soleimani.

TEHRAN—In a bid to cut costs and save time, Iran has announced that its 24/7 state propaganda station will be replaced with an MSNBC broadcast.
The decision to broadcast MSNBC instead of official state propaganda came after an MSNBC reporter parroted the false claims of the Iranian government after yesterday's rocket attacks.
"Why spend so much time creating propaganda to brainwash our people when MSNBC could do it for us?" a representative for Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting said to reporters. "It takes a lot of work to put together news broadcasts that obscure the truth and...

U.K. citizens are up in arms about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's shocking announcement that they will take a backseat from their "senior member" status of the royal family to work independently. But instead of wanting the couple to keep the current structure the same, many are calling on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to relinquish their titles entirely. Norman Baker, a former Liberal Democrat member of parliament and home office minister in the coalition government, sounded off on the couple's 2020 plans to partially support the queen while simultaneously having financial independence.

Earlier today Senator Mike “H1B” Lee called the national security briefing “lame” and “inadequate”, saying the military and intelligence leaders ran from hard questions at the briefing. Well, Senator James Lankford calls those accusations by Senator Lee demonstrably false and untrue.
Senator Lankford noted the briefing included examples of 90 incidents of Iranian proxy attacks against the U.S. and coalition forces in the last month-and-a-half; ultimately leading to the killing of an American. It was after the final attack when POTUS Trump ordered the elimination of Qassim Soleimani.

Despite the huge news of the split, which was announced last night, London Mayor Sadiq Khan said this morning their security was an "operational decision taken by the Met police".
Currently the Duke and Duchess are protected by six full-time bodyguards, thought to be at a yearly cost of £600,000.
It is unclear what their security will be if they choose to split their time between the UK and North America, as they are planning.

The “death to” slogan began in Iran in the days of the Shah. It wasn’t enough to depose the Shah. They wanted “death to” him.
After the Shah died, gleeful Iranians evidently concluded that it was their sloganeering that killed him. They weaponized this discovery with other slogans similar in hateful meaning but not in lethal effect. Think “death to America” and then “death to Israel.”
Other countries such as Yemen joined in the chorus and expanded it. Soon it was “death to America, death to Israel and damnation to the Jews.” That was off-putting to Israelis,

The hashtag, #IVotedForClinton, trended Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as those who proudly voted against President Donald Trump expressed their moral superiority in the wake of Iran’s missile attack on several Iraqi bases hosting American troops.
There was just one big problem: Hillary Clinton also had an aggressive Iran strategy that included the possibility of a major — “obliterating” — attack.
The hashtag began trending Tuesday night, as word broke that Iran had retaliated against the United States for killing Iranian Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani in a surgical strike inside Iraq last week by targeting U.S. military stationed at Iraqi military bases.

How did Syrians react to news of the death of Qassem Soleimani? The first reaction, especially in the city of Aleppo, was to celebrate as if it were a national festival. In Aleppo, and in many cities beyond, they gathered to celebrate, sing, dance and offer cookies and baklava to everyone. Cheering people in the streets, speaking in front of the cameras, said they hoped that the next target would be Syria's detested dictator, Bashar Assad.

After losing its top strategist, military commander and arch-terrorist, Qassem Suleimani, the Iranian theocracy is weighing responses.
One, Iran can quiet down and cease military provocations.
After attacking tankers off its coast, destroying an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia, shooting down a U.S. drone and being responsible for the killing and wounding of Americans in Iraq, Iran could now keep quiet.
It might accept that its strategy of escalation has failed to lead to any quantifiable advantage. Trump did not prove a passive "Twitter tiger," as his critics mocked. Instead, he upped the stakes to Iran's disadvantage and existential danger.

Scary people are roaming the streets of many big cities, thanks to Democrats, who believe that innocent black people are arrested convicted by our purportedly racist justice system. Under the rubric of “bail reform,” even chronic offenders can be back on the streets the same day they are arrested.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio was recently so embarrassed by the catch and release of Tiffany Harris after back-to-back arrests for violent attacks on orthodox Jews accompanied by hateful rhetoric that he personally intervened with the court to get her locked up on psychiatric grounds. But the policies that led to her release remain in place in New York.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is feeling the heat.
Just as she thought she had President Trump backed into a corner with impeachment, she smashed herself against a brick wall in Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who refused to go by her rules, laying waste to all her precious plans.
In the Senate, Cocaine Mitch makes his own rules. But actually, it's not that, Mitch is just using Clinton-era impeachment rules.
Those rules were to invite the Democrats to present their case and answer questions, and then have the Senate decide whether to call witnesses. Pelosi had already gone all out and claimed she wanted the Senate to call witnesses.

Has any political ploy failed as spectacularly as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to delay sending the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump over to the Senate. Even Democrats are now telling her the jig is up.
Pelosi had hoped to use the delay as leverage to get the Senate to agree to the Democrats’ demand for witnesses at the trial. It was a foolhardy plan that, had the leadership not been in the grip of Trump Derangement Syndrome, it never would have attempted.

One major point is being overlooked concerning the “impeachment”: now that the impeachment weapon has been unsheathed, and swung, and shattered into myriad pieces without so much as scratching its target, the Dems have absolutely nothing to use against Trump. (snip) they hit him with an attempt to subvert electors, with the Mueller investigation, with the emoluments clause, with the 25th Amendment, and then with impeachment. And all of it simply bounced off. As it stands, Donald Trump is now beyond any legal, procedural method of harassment. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly portrayed President Trump as an existential threat to the republic. As she put it when announcing the House impeachment inquiry, “The actions taken to date by the president have seriously violated the Constitution.” She later justified her mad rush to hold an impeachment vote in December by claiming it was necessary “to defend democracy.” In reality, by presiding over the hyper-partisan passage of two inscrutable articles of impeachment and holding them hostage until the Senate allows her to dictate how it will conduct the president’s trial, Pelosi has revealed that she is the genuine menace to our unique system of government.

And that hapless furry Beto is off selling autographs on the weirdo convention circuit dressed as a cartoon fox named “Yiffy.”
The ones still in the race are even more pathetic.
Here are my thoughts on where the race is now. In the general, it’s Trump’s to lose. Between a sprinting economy and a staggering Democrat field, he’s the odds-on favorite in the general. But the real election issue is not going to be his past achievements.

There is a simple reason President Donald Trump should not have been impeached by the House, and the Senate should acquit him: Epstein didn’t kill himself.
In writing this, I don’t mean I am convinced that the billionaire child sex-abuser was murdered by one of his many wealthy and powerful acquaintances to keep him quiet — although I wouldn’t rule that out. Rather, I mean it in the sense in which “Epstein didn’t kill himself” has become a pervasive cultural meme, as a general assertion of cynicism regarding the incompetence and moral degeneracy of our elites, which has produced a crisis of credibility for our leaders and institutions.

In his address to the nation this morning, Donald Trump asserted that the ballistic missiles that targeted the al-Assad and Erbil bases in Iraq yesterday were paid for using “funds made available by the last administration.” Few things irritate media fact checkers more than Trump’s accusation that Obama helped fund the Iranian regime and its terror apparatus. Probably because it’s completely true.
Now, we don’t really know that Obama’s ransom payments to Iran in 2016 subsidized those specific ballistic missiles, but we do know that money is fungible — especially when you have access to small denominations of European cash — and that the military,

If you want to know why Democrats are so hell-bent on condemning President Trump's wipe-out of Iran's Number Two, Qassem Soleimani, maybe a look at their record with this guy can tell some of the story.
This demon (as Mancow so flawlessly characterized him) was a powerful guy in hellhole Iran, and he extended his brutality well beyond Iran's borders. He was responsible for the killings of hundreds of Americans in Iraq and beyond. He amassed his power because under the Obama administration, favors were done in a way that enabled him to rise as
