Monday night, after two “moderate” Republican members of the Senate, Rep. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Rep. Susan Collins (R-ME) declared that they were fine abiding by the Senate impeachment rules set in 1998 — at the dawn of then-President Bill Clinton’s Senate trial — reports indicated that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) had enough votes to go forward with the second half of President Donald Trump’s impeachment proceedings without having to negotiate with Democrats on the subject.
As soon as Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) submits the articles of impeachment to the Senate, a trial can go forward —

Yes, this is great... this will cause the trial to wrap up real fast and we can pound, pound, pound the democrats with purely political hit job on our President, all the way to the election in 10 months. Notice, the dems in the Senate are starting to "holler" for the articles - they know, they know how bad this looks. It's time we start making them a "laughing stock" nationally and destroy them politically... it's past time!

Nancy has achieved her goal. The media and anyone else can now always refer to Impeached President Trump everytime they talk about the President in the future. That's all this was always about!!!
Of course, she would have to submit the impeachment articles to the Senate to complete her side of the process.

Cocaine Mitch (love that name), already told Nan he can’t wait for her to not send him something he doesn’t want.
She’s sounding more like the bug who hit the windshield every day.

This Pelosi created fiasco is quickly boiling down to a big time violation of President Trump’s Constitutional right to a speedy trial to answer the impeachment articles that Pelosi and the leftist and liberal Democrats have passed against Trump on a completely partisan Democrat party line vote. Remember if the Democrats can do that to the President of the USA, just imagine what they could do to just plain Jane or Joe across the country by misusing the criminal justice system.

She still doesn't get it. Dumber than a box of bricks.
Mitch McConnell doesn't have to do anything.

To quote the great philosopher, Forest Gump, Bully is as bully does. She is still trying to bully the Senate. What a jerk.

McConnell needs to announce that he's decided to be 'fair' and go with the rules established by the democrats in the house. He will pick the witnesses (Schiff and the Whistleblower) and will give the democrats the list of questions they will be allowed to ask. If she thought this was fair in the House, it should be fair in the Senate.

By House rules, the Republicans requested their 1 day of calling witnesses, which Nadler stated the rule did not stipulate when House Democrats needed to grant that particular day of calling witnesses.
Thus, they voted on impeachment articles prior to granting this RIGHT under House Rules.
However, I don't believe the House Democrats can issue their articles to the Senate until they allow for this particular day for the Republicans, or every House Democrats will be violating House rules.
Now, I doubt the House Dems want to ever have that day of witness testimony by the House Republicans which creates a real problem for Nancy.

I don’t read the constitution as saying that anything needs to be transmitted by the house in order for the senate to have a trial.

Have it your way, birdbrain. I still say give her a date to hand over the impeachment. If she doesn't hand them over by the deadline, enter into the Senate records that the President has not been impeached, and move on dot org! She's making too much of that third in line thing.
