A man was stabbed with what appears to have been a machete Thursday morning in Manhattan, according to police. The victim was stabbed on 30th Street and Fifth Avenue in Midtown just before 9 a.m. by a suspect who then hopped into the passenger seat of a gray Honda and took off, cops said. Police are now hunting for the suspect, who was described as a male in his 30s, possibly with a face tattoo. The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

I have to laugh whenever I read that some one is "attacked with a machete" and then they mention "stab wounds". One does not stab with a machete, one slashes and hacks. Typically machetes have very blunt, sometimes even square tips (cane knife) which make them pretty poor stabbing weapons, but excellent hacking weapons. But expecting idiot journalists to know even the slightest thing about ANYTHING is hopeless.

#6, and I hear that they come with a large capacity magazine, too. I haven't seen any with bayonet lugs yet, though. I will bet that if we could get accurate statistics, cold steel (and bronze) has put more men in the ground than bullets or bombs.

"A machete-wielding man punched a construction worker in the eye and sped off during a heated argument at a Manhattan worksite Thursday, police said...Police initially said the victim was slashed with the machete, but they later said the motorist was just holding it when he slugged the worker." Don’t let them find out about ‘Wall’ Street. The City Council’s Committee on Immigration is mulling a bill that would bar municipal government workers from using the terms “alien,” “illegal alien” or “illegal immigrant” in official documents. “I introduced this bill because words matter and the language we use or choose to use has power and consequences,” said Councilman Francisco Moya (D-Queens) — who first floated the proposal late last month — in a Thursday committee hearing. The legislation proposes the term “noncitizen” as an alternative.

These are the two dozen new photos revealing Bill Clinton’s 2002 trip to Africa aboard Jeffrey Epstein’s “Lolita Express” — with other celebrities and an Epstein accuser in tow. The slew of images, obtained Thursday by The Post, show a smiling Clinton posing alongside Epstein’s alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell and Chauntae Davies, the masseuse who has accused the dead financier of rape. The humanitarian trip, which Davies says was hosted by Clinton’s foundation, also included actors Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker, who appear in shots with Davies and Maxwell.

When Sen. Mazie Hirono suggested Americans should "believe in climate change as though it's a religion," some enterprising Canadians were listening. A website called Shrine On is among the many selling Greta Thunberg prayer candles, so supplicants can ask the climate gods to stop destroying us or something. "Pray to Saint Greta Thunberg, Saint of Climate Change," the Shrine On description reads. The candle, which includes a picture of Greta Thunberg dressed up as Jesus Christ often is in votive candles, sells for $18 plus shipping. The Etsy listing is slightly cheaper at $14.43, and it reveals that the item will be ready to ship from Canada in 3-5 business days.

One of the several downsides in watching too much football this past weekend was watching too many TV commercials. And although I had grown used to the “stupid white man” trope, now a staple of comic advertising, I was unprepared for AT&T’s impressively racist and sexist “Just OK is not OK” campaign. The larger message of the campaign is that “when it comes to wireless networks, just OK is not OK.” According to some dubious test, AT&T is allegedly “America’s best network.” To launch this concept, AT&T and its marketing geniuses at the Omnicom Group designed a series of scenarios in which an incompetent white professional or service worker offers

The couple who shot up a kosher market in Jersey City last month and the suspect in the Hanukkah stabbings in upstate Monsey had connections to the Black Hebrew Israelites, a secretive sect with some members preaching hate against Jews. David Anderson, one of the shooters killed in the Dec. 10 firefight which resulted in six dead, published rabid anti-Semitic screeds on social media and was inspired by the group. Grafton Thomas, the accused stabber who injured five Hanukkah celebrants inside a rabbi’s home last week, had attended the sect’s house of worship in East Harlem. For decades, land-use regulation across the U.S. has emphasized single-family houses on large lots. This approach has priced many people out of the quintessential American dream: home ownership. It also has promoted suburban sprawl — a pattern of low-density, car-dependent development that has dominated growth at the edges of urban areas since the end of World War II. Now, however, Americans may be starting to question the desirability of a private house. In the past year, the Minneapolis City Council and the state of Oregon have voted to allow duplexes and other types of multi-unit housing in neighborhoods where currently only single-family homes currently are allowed.

The Washington Post recently published a surprising indictment of MSNBC host Rachel Maddow. Post media critic Erik Wemple wrote that Maddow deliberately misled her audience by claiming the now-discredited Steele dossier was largely verifiable — even at a time when there was plenty of evidence that it was mostly bogus. At the very time Maddow was reassuring viewers that ex-spook Christopher Steele was believable, populist talk radio and the much-criticized Fox News Channel were insisting that most of Steele’s allegations simply couldn’t be true.

This will not be a Benghazi,” vowed President Donald Trump to reporters on New Year’s Eve. “This will never, ever be a Benghazi.” A spot-on analogy. So far, so good. It looks like a seizure of the U.S. embassy in Baghdad by Iranian militants has been averted. In so doing, President Trump — with full credit to our troops — has averted not only a Benghazi but a Jimmy Carter. The parallels between what happened in the Middle East the final week of December 2019 and what happened in the Middle East the final weeks of 1979 are chilling. Seventy-five years ago, at the Battle of the Bulge (fought from Dec. 16, 1944, to Jan. 25, 1945), the United States suffered more casualties than in any other battle in its history. Some 19,000 Americans were killed, 47,500 wounded and 23,000 reported missing. The American and British armies were completely surprised by a last-gasp German offensive, given that Allied forces were near the Rhine River and ready to cross into Germany to finish off a crippled Third Reich. The Americans had been exhausted by a rapid 300-mile summer advance to free much of France and Belgium. In their complacence, they oddly did not worry much about their thinning lines,

By signing the $738 billion Defense Spending Bill, on Friday, President Donald Trump has raised the legal age for smoking to 21 nationwide — news that went largely unnoticed. The new rules include cigarettes and e-cigarettes. The smoking age hike had bipartisan support in the Senate, and was co-authored by Democrats Brian Schatz and Dick Durbin, and Republicans Mitt Romney and Todd Young, CNN reported. Now that Trump’s signature is on the bill, the Food and Drug Administration has 180 days to update its regulations — and the new age requirement will go into effect 90 days later, ABC News reported.

Late last year Chick-fil-A ruffled feathers across the fruited plain when they announced they would no longer provide charitable donations to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Salvation Army. Both organizations had faced years of withering attacks from sex and gender revolutionaries who were angered because the two renowned Christian ministries affirmed the biblical definition of marriage. So when Chick-fil-A made their decision public, many Christians accused the company of backing down to a bunch of militant LGBTQ bullies.
